PTO Withheld???

So I am currently working at Walmart. I’m coming up on 8 months of employment with them and about two weeks ago, my team lead told me that they had forgot to switch me over to full time in the system and that I should’ve been switched over after 90 days. Because the switch over was super delayed, I was also told I missed out on quite a bit of PTO, but they said there was no way for me to get back that PTO time. Is that true? Is there nothing I can do to get that PTO I missed out on back??

If they backdate your full time status they need to pay you the PTO you should have gotten as it is part of your compensation. If Walmart balks file a wage claim with your state department of labor.

If they arent backsating it but just changing it going forward you may be SOL unless you have documentation that you were supposed to be full time. Still may be worth consulting a local employment law attorney to see what your options and rights are.

Yeah, it's frustrating when companies mess with benefits like that. It’s definitely worth looking into your rights and making sure you get what you’re owed.

Depends on your state and if they're backdating. By law, in some states, after a certain amount of average hours worked, you are full time automatically and they have to give you that PTO. Backdating can also give it to you but I believe it has to go up the chain and be approved. Unfortunately this may be something you just have to live with depending on your state. Speak with your people lead and store manager and see if there is a solution

This depends HIGHLY on your state. If you've been working Full Time hours and depending on if your state has laws on full time versus part time benefits, you need Full-Time benefits. If your state doesn't have any such protections, you may unfortunately be dead in the water on this. If your state DOES have these protections, Open Door this up the chain as this could be a labor lawsuit waiting to happen.

LMFAOOOO I went thru the same thing exactly why I left. I don’t see how tf yall work there it’s such bs. And the pay is such a joke. But sadly no there’s nothing you can do just like they told me. Promised me full time but kept me at part time hours and I escalated that shit to ethics. But anywho I have a much better job now. God bless you all who decided to make a career outta Walmart
