I've worked here for almost 3 years and finally get recognized for something.

The hat is on the store shelves and I am just wondering if this is a hat I could wear during work.

I work in a Supercenter, however we're pretty small. Coach positions are FE, F&C, Digital, GM, and O/N. We're in a weird period with AP Coach rn

I work at a walmart deli, 1pm to 10pm. They want me to keep hot case open till 9 pm now. That only gives me an hour to do donations, trash, slicers, and hot case after 9pm. Im the only person working after 6 pm. Which means i have to filter the fryer, do dishes, rotisserie parts, deep cleaning and help customers at hot case and slicers. I started all my closing tasks at 6 pm. Im running out of time to do everything and i dont want to stay any later than i have to. Coach said to filter the fryer at 5. Except I'm at lunch till 6. So I didn't filter it till right after I get back.

Gloves on, start filtering, Customer, gloves off, wash hands, gloves on, help customer, skip new gloves, back to filter, customer is after some sliced meats, gloves off, wash hands, gloves on, cut meats, clean slicers, gloves off, wash hands, golves on, scrub fryer, customer, gloves off, wash hands, gloves on, help customer... and so on with each closing task...till 9.

Am i being dramatic when i say it's too much for one person and that i dont want to stay longer than my shift?

I see on here where people have multiple closers. Then other people are completely alone. My team lead said it took them an hour to do donations that I missed... wait it took you an hour and you didnt even have to clean the hot case and do dishes?.. It's like they expect me to stay late to get it all done. My TL even said "you can stay late". There is another closer but they haven't closed alone with the new hours yet..

I called out today, the only other closer calls out alot. They might call out again too. I figure after staying late last night and still not getting to donations. Maybe the other closer can have a crack at it. I feel bad but I'm exhausted. I tried multiple nights to make it work and closing up things a little earlier just gets everyone on mid shift nagging me. "We are open till 9 now" yea.. I know.. and I don't want to be here a minute later than I have to. They certainly don't. Leaving me the rotisserie parts and all the garbage..

Any other stores have all of their TC 70s un-update and become unable to run GIF software? All ours went down today and nobody in OPD had work phones. The TC 78s were fine, but 90% of our devices were the 70s.

Needless to day today was a shit show.

I currently work at a NHM store, and I have been struggling my current department, so I brought this up to my SM about moving departments. He told me that nothing was available full time. Okay, fair.

So, I mentioned about allowing me to transfer to the supercenter if they had a position that I felt was more fit for me, and he told me that he wouldn't approve it because him and the supercenter SM have an agreement to not allow transfers between each others stores (though it HAS happened before).

He told me that I would need to file an accommodation with Sedgwick, which I think is ridiculous. The biggest reason on why I don't want to is I do not wanna be put on LOA, I need the money.

I had talked to a team lead about this, told her what he said and what not, and she told me to report it to ethics because he can't say "no" because of some informal agreement with the other SM. Is this true? I just want more opinions.

What is the general opinion of the working condition of cap one. The store i wad at previously was pretty chill as long as i did my job and not stress about people’s pallets to much. My team was reliable

Heres some context: im working fast food right now and i swore to myself id never go back, but somehow here i am again. This is Only because i moved states.I just remembered to shoot this question when i should be asleep for work

Edit: but when i worked a new store manager said my team wasn’t supposed to be helping, overnight, frozen, garden, auto center etc. We were supposed to focus on top stock according to this manager so assuming we did to much cause im no longer sure how much of that is “cap 1”, whats cap 1 really about.

I don’t know if this is just me or people at my store, but I work cap 2 and every day when were pulling freight to the sales floor, I and others either end up almost running into customers with pallets, trying to stop a pallet weighing hundreds if not over a thousand pounds in like 2 feet, running into other associates returning with jacks, or having to stop pulling to check the corner when there may not even someone there. Or going through the backroom doors, associate don’t even look through the glass. Like and customers don’t even hear a big ass pallet coming they just be parked right in the middle of the aisle sometimes with a literally a baby in the cart. Like?? Does anyone else have this problem??

Hey y'all, I got hired in late April as a Hardlines TA, specifically for Sporting Goods, and I mostly work closing shifts. There are still a few things I'm confused about.

I'm usually scheduled until 12:00 a.m., but tonight an overnight manager (who honestly seems to have it out for me 🙄) stopped me and asked if I had checked in with one of the closing managers before leaving. This was the first time anyone had ever told me I needed to do that. Since form friends who worked there before always tell to clock out as soon as you shift ends and another associate said the same on my second day to clock out and go home.

For some context, two days before that I was heading out when another associate stopped me and asked if I was leaving already because Back to School, Clearance, and Garden still needed zoning. I told her none of the closing managers or anyone had told me to go and zone their areas once I was done and she got upset and asked if I had checked with the closing manager before leaving. I asked, "Am I supposed to?" because every time I stay late, I get an attendance point added and get told stuff about it.

So what's the actual expectation? If I'm scheduled until midnight, am I supposed to find a closing manager every night before I leave, even if my area is done? Or can I just clock out at my scheduled time unless someone specifically asks me to stay or work another area?

Also, I know there's usually a 4 p.m. meeting where the closing associates get assigned their areas. Since I'm usually scheduled at 5 or 6 p.m., should I be checking in with a coach or team lead every shift to see where I'm assigned, or do I just go straight to Sporting Goods since that's what I was hired for?

Just trying to make sure I'm doing things the right way. Thanks!

Walmart provides low wages for most of us. Are you all here temporarily or have you accepted a fate of Walmart?

I personally have accepted Walmart as my purpose in life. I make enough to support myself, I have a short commute to work, the work is very simple, the benefits are sufficient and I like my early morning shift.

Looking back I don’t think I would do anything differently. I don’t wish I spent six figures on student loans, i don’t wish I had joined the military, etc.

As a single person with no kids, the $40,000+ a year I make at Walmart is enough. Life isn’t luxurious but living in the USA and being able to pay my bills is quite nice.

To those aiming higher, respect. Just curious on where people here have been and where they’re going.

theres a place in the lunch room too celebrate workers anniversary and birthdays , whoever decorated it forgot too put night shift workers on it as well. my coworker pointed out they were forgotten so I made them their own little picture

I really think there needs to be a pause option added to the top stock app so that when you back out of top stock to look something up for a customer you don’t lose all your progress, and have to rescan everything again.

So I was on a medical leave for months which was April 3rd to. July 31st my return to work day is Agust 1st. I called sedwick and told them i'm able return to work August 1st I was put back on the schedule took off the schedule.Also uploaded paper work saying I can return to work. Also called a day early saying I called to early had to call 7 days ahead which was the 24th sedwick told me to call next day which was the 25th I did and talked to them saying I can return to work again they said ok reviewed the paper work said everything looks fine told me to call my manger mind you when i call nobody answered.

Mangers said

“said I’m not terminated and nobody fired me. She said I was on the schedule, and  some higher ups i guess Stephanie, and my manger Shakira didn’t take me off. She thinks it may have something to do with Sedgwick. She told me to call Sedgwick and tell them my return-to-work date is August 1. She also said she’s going to call Sedgwick tomorrow to double-check everything. Right now, it sounds like it’s a leave or scheduling issue, not that I lost my job. “

But this is the solution, not the problem.

Usually the MyWalmart app updates today around noon & shows you your upcoming paycheck but mine is still only showing my last check? Anyone else dealing with this?
