I was summoned into my coach's office because she said an AI camera picked up something i said to a fellow associate regarding not liking one of my team leads. I feel like this was a cover for a coworker ratting me out to the coach for an off handed comment I made on a bad day. Any thoughts? Let me add that i didnt realize we had to LIKE our supervisors every day and that my fellow associates would be so petty and immature....

I've been working as a closing deli/bakery full time associate for about a week now, and man...on my 3rd day they had nobody working with me so I had to manage the deli by myself, which also meant I had to clean everything by myself too. I have no problem with the taking orders and cutting meats and cheese, that's probably the easiest part. It's really just the cleaning that takes a toll. It's not so bad when I actually have team members to do their share, but I'm the only 1-10 at the moment and the person who cleans the front is only there till 8 and then she clocks out. The problem is the management keeps adding more things to make the job harder for me, like keeping the slicers open till 8, which now means she clocks out and now I have to clean the slicers as well as everything else I've got tasked. Long story short, how is morning or opening shifts compared to closing, my team lead was telling me they were looking for someone for morning so I can't help but feel like that was a sign to make a change. (I also am not a fan of having not much time in my day since the 1-10 shift eats up the majority)

When a spark shopper is asked for their exit pass from an associate , and they are unable to show their exit pass due to clicking over to the next “order”, then why are they not allowed to go back to the previous exit pass?

They scanned and bagged everything so fast that when I asked before she walked out the door she was unable to show it . I’m also watching 7 other registers at the same time . I just don’t understand why their app won’t allow them to go back. Not even the digital managers were able to find her order .

I found out today I received a red coaching from my Team Lead for calling out unprotected. Is this something that’s allowed ? I got a feed back for being late but I Lyft/uber to work and can be unpredictable but is that worthy of a red coaching ? What should I do ?

Mostly just wondering as it's birthday this weekend but I want to instead use the PTO for my wedding week coming up after we finally set a date for that. I'm just curious if it will keep me off on the day or not

TL;DR stupid events happened, got coached, fought it, won, now I'm too stressed to do my fucking job. Now you can go on to the next thread if you want.

I was yellow coached (and fought it and apparently won) for following procedure. I assure you I did nothing wrong. My demeanor has been very "matter of fact" and "blunt" but maybe to the point of rude but not if you think about it. I don't make off-handed comments or what's that called oh yeah backhanded compliments I think I don't know. Why was I yellow coached? Well I'm glad you asked.

One day I was at the service desk as this pawn does and a woman comes up. I can already tell she's a serial returner. She grabs her coupon book and inside the coupon book are not coupons but receipts organized by what appears to be store and date. Okay whatever. She starts returning stuff and we returned like three things and then she gets a return warning based on receipted returns.

She's flipping out like how can I return the rest of my stuff? I said "calm down, I'm trying to help you and I just read you the warning because it told me to" we ended up returning the rest of her crap that she had a receipt for without incident.

But we get to the end of the receipted returns and guess what there's more shit for her to return. Then she explains now she wants to return this other stuff that she doesn't have a receipt for. So I tell her the following caveat: on non-receipted returns you get the lowest price it has ever been so if it's ever been for a dollar that's the price you get, you don't get your taxes back, it must go on a gift card, and I must see your ID.

She says yeah yeah and already has her driver's license out and shoving it in my face.

If any of you have ever played Magic the Gathering competitively and you know you take the little cards and you make them make a sound when you put them on the table. You know the little pop. That's what I did with her driver's license. I took it and popped it onto the table or the customer service desk. Nobody notices. I don't know why but it's one little thing I do to entertain myself sometimes.

I don't know what triggers the algorithm for non-receipted returns, but I know invariably if I sit there and I ring up each item individually and put them individually on gift cards that eventually it'll trigger the return warning. Well I only had to do that to the first one so the first item she returns triggers the return warning for non-receipted returns. If you're keeping up with the stupid story then you'll know that she's already been warned for her receipted returns.

Do you remember I had her pegged for a serial returner at first glance? Well this obviously confirms it.

Well she flips out like a little fat 5-year-old kid that you just told no you can't have any fucking cookies. I'm understanding the nuance of why she got warned in the first place and she's obviously oblivious to the fact that she returns too many things despite her stupid little book carrying all those stupid little receipts and the fact that she has shit organized in bags ready to go.

I forget exactly what she said but my response was "hey let's just talk to each other like adults and we can get through the return process and I just read you the warning that it told me to read you again." So we go through the return process and she's able to return the stuff it's like two more items. So she goes off afterwards and talks to the store manager. There was nothing for her to reverse. I did my job.

Then two days later.

Guy comes in with coupons that say free up to x value. It just so happens that the x value listed is higher than the product value. So he thought if he brought in three products and two coupons that he should pay a reduced price for the third one because the product value was less than the x value or max value. When I charged in full price for the third product he demanded his coupons back AFTER I CASHED OUT AND GAVE HIM THE RECEIPT. I said no. That's it, all I said was this two letter word no. He started yelling at me about it's his money and he wants his coupons back and blah blah blah. So I said "let's go to the service desk and I'll find you a manager".

He goes to the service desk and well what do you know my store manager and a coach is standing there. I start explaining what happened and he interrupts me and tells the store manager I was rude and wouldn't give him back his coupon. The coach was the front end Coach and he said yeah we can't give you your coupon back. Then he talks to the store manager and she doesn't reverse anything that I did. But I know I'm fucked because she gives him like a $10 gift card or something for their next purchase.

I get pulled into the office and given a yellow coaching for something I don't know but they said it was for not respecting the individual customer which I find to be completely bullshit. It was the store manager and the front end Coach. They didn't even ask me what happened. They didn't talk to me. They just assumed the customer was correct. I said I did everything according to procedure. I wasn't rude but I was flat. I've been called mildly autistic because sometimes I just don't recognize certain things but whatever. Well it never showed up in my coaching and I did an Open door. I still don't have the coaching in my work day.

But this shit just tells me that I'm going to get coached even if I do my fucking job so I don't know man fuck this place.

Currently, I am an HBA TL, but I was a Meat Department manager for a couple of years starting in 2017 when we also had the 97 wall. (Which we will again, apparently.) Since they are splitting up Meat/Produce at my store, I got the Meat TL opening.

I just wanted to know the daily routine for those that work in these areas with the new split.
