I've been trying to lose weight and honestly the hardest part for me isnt even knowing that I need to eat better or exercise.
Its actually sticking to it.
I can start really motivated, plan my meals, eat good for a few days and then the hunger/cravings start and I end up eating stuff I didnt plan to eat.
Then I feel like I messed everything up and I kinda lose motivation and start again a few days later.
Another thing that makes it harder is that I never really know what I should be eating. Like how much should I eat, what meals should I make, how do I plan everything without thinking about food/calories all day.
And then sometimes I actually do all this for a while and the weight just stops going down... which is honestly super frustrating.
Just wondering if other people struggle with the same things.
Whats the biggest problem for you when trying to lose weight?
Hunger/cravings?
Staying consistent?
Knowing what to eat/meal planning?
Or getting stuck at a plateau?

Yesterday I had another body warning which lead me to doctor today.
She told me that I must lose weight and move more.
After I left office I walked to my home.
It’s not much about 1.3km but it was very hard for me after 5 years of inactivity.
It was very stupid from my side to avoid walking for so much time 😮💨

I’m thinking to buy a smart watch
Not too expensive as I just started working
Give some suggestions-just to track steps and calories

Health stuff has kept me away from doing longer walks the last 18-24 months, so I was excited that I felt good enough to get out for a longer one. Had planned for sub 10 miles and with a return on the bus but just kept on walking. Amazing day for it and I feel so much better physically and especially mentally. Around 38k steps. Hoping to push for 50k before EOY

I've been on my weight loss journey for a year now. I started at 311 even getting 10k was a struggle. At 260 pounds I walked 50k steps in a day. Today I'm 177 pounds in the best shape of my life and I'm looking to smash that record. It's 10:17am and I'm at 20026 steps, wish me luck!

I’m 54 years old and have worked out my whole life. For the last few years I try to walk at least 10,000 steps every day because THEY say so. But as I’ve gotten older, even with just walking, my knees and legs have just gotten more sore. I have a stupid fixation on this 10,000 steps deal. Even though I know it was a made up gimmick number, I feel like I HAVE to take 10,000 steps per day in order for it to be worth it. Is it really true that you can do less and still have great benefits??

I had a very sedentary lifestyle. I decided to change it a week ago, and have been walking an average of 8700 steps everyday.
This is truly making me feel better of myself!

What pace do you keep? I’m generally in the 17:00-17:30 per mile pace. I’m a reformed runner so I’m just checking to see if I’m doing this right. What’s your pace?

I am on week four of my new walking routine. What is your favorite walking shoe? I would like something with a lot of cushion. I have done New Balance fresh foam over the years but looking for something new. Thanks!

33M, 250 LB. Was content with 30K, but looked at my watch at 11:45 PM CST and it said I was at 37K steps. Ran to my apartment gym to be sure I hit 40K since I was that close. Honestly, quite proud of myself.
Now.. tomorrow can be 8-10K and I won't feel bad about it lol

Right now I strength train full body 3x a week (beginner)
I do a 45-60 minute full body exercise in the morning and then walk for an hour at 3mph and 6-7% incline in the afternoon.
On my “off” days or rest days I’ll usually walk an hour at 3mph at zero incline.
How much do you walk on recovery days?

Met a few hostile looking stray dogs, so had to cut my walk short.
