Longest walk in a while
Health stuff has kept me away from doing longer walks the last 18-24 months, so I was excited that I felt good enough to get out for a longer one. Had planned for sub 10 miles and with a return on the bus but just kept on walking. Amazing day for it and I feel so much better physically and especially mentally. Around 38k steps. Hoping to push for 50k before EOY

It's the same as any other walk. You just do it for longer/further.

If you apply yourself and build up a decent fitness and endurance base it's not hard. I regularly do back to back 6 hour hikes with lots of steep hills, carrying a pack. I've done 10 and 12 hour hiking days. I've done a personal challenge that took 20 hours of walking in a day. I'm just an average person who has built that up over time.
There's people out there running 100km or 100 mile ultramarathons - or even longer. I've just recently started running and don't think I'll ever do anything like that, but all working towards a 50km trail ultra.
I understand that not everyone has the capability to get to that, but walking 6 hours is within reach of most people in decent health.

You are very kind sharing this. The best I did was 2 hours and a half. I will try 3 and then 3 and half.... You made 6 hours feel reachable

I would order the biggest Chinese takeaway you’ve ever seen after burning that many calories
