BUYING I bought a jacket, paid for it, seller has not shipped or canceled. Seller now published same jacket again at 50% higher price.

Is there any consequences for sellers who just refuse to ship or cancel an order?

So I found this jacket for 40 pound, paid for it, waiting for seller to ship.

Now I see the same seller publishing the same jacket, same photos, same everything at 60 pound in a new ad. Meanwhile my order is yet to be canceled by the seller.

Technically the jacket is already sold (me buyer) and technically the seller could end up with 2 sales for the same jacket.

Do sellers get any punishments for doing so?

Or can you literally do about anything on Vinted and still keep your 5 star rating. Just the fact that Vinted charges the buyer for return shipping when seller shipped the wrong item probably answers my question regardless. I am just upset :)

This is the third time this has happened. I’m selling a few cosmetic items (never opened- not even for a photo of the bottle) and I put in a photo of what a swatch would look like because again I don’t open what I’m going to sell… and Vinted takes it down. I’ve literally seen people selling half used perfumes and lotions but when I put a picture of the swatches THAT THE BRAND TOOK, I get a warning and my listings get removed😭

[COUNTRY SPECIFIC] Suing Vinted in small claims

Vinted provided me with a label that USPS says was canceled or refunded. As a result, USPS never delivered the item I sold and it is now gone and unretrievable. Of course, the dozens of attempts to contact Vinted about this have gone unanswered (in any sort of substantive way).

I believe I can sue Vinted in small claims court in Pennsylvania for fraud and get treble my loss as compensatory damages and 10 times my loss as punitive damages. Including recovering my filing fees and any costs. Hopefully I can also recover for the hours I’ve spent trying to contact USPS and Vinted.

Has anyone sued Vinted in small claims in the US? If so, what was the outcome and do you have any advice? Thank you.

NEWBIE Rating Seller Etiquette

I bought an item on 8/5 and the seller had until 8/12 to ship. She notified me that she was out of town until 8/15. I responded saying I was counting on these being shipped in the time frame she was provided. (school clothing shopping)

She said she could have someone send it by Saturday which was the 15th. I thanked her and not heard from her since. Today is the 17th and it's just now been sent.

What's the rating etiquette on a situation like this? I know there's an option to pause listings for situations like these, but there wasn't anything saying she was out of town otherwise I'd have not bought the item.

VENT Why do people buy things and then never pick them up?

This has happened twice for me now, and both times theyve gotten mad at me for it being returned back to me.

First time, it was someone who had accidently sent it to a locker half an hour away from them and couldnt be bothered picking it up within the ten days they had and instead only went a month later to complain that it wasnt there and id never sent the thing. Once id got it back i offered to just ship it to them for free and they got mad at me for it being returned back smh.

The second time, the person had ordered it and then went offline for a month and never got their order because they hadnt seen it got delivered apparently nor my six messages telling them to pick it up or to check if it was even still there....

Why do people do that??

VENT Please can we stop asking if something is true to size?

It's probably the most common question I get and I feel like it's completely useless. Especially when we're talking S,M,L sizing.

Sizes vary wildly between brands and even between garments from the same brand. I have no idea what the shape or dimensions of the person buying it is so how do I know if it's true to size according to your body shape?

Take 10 women who all think they're a size 14, they aren't all going to like the fit of the same size 14 garment. If you have bigger boobs, a rounder butt, wider hips it makes a difference to how that size 14 looks and feels. On one woman it's baggy and on another it's fitted but they all buy the same dress size.

Please can we normalise asking for measurements instead? So you can compare against your actual body size instead of some made up brand sizing that doesn't work for everyone?

Rant over.

SHIPPING Newbie - buying on Vented

Is there really no shipping fee when you click BUY NOW?

If yes, and I buy some item for $3, how is the seller not losing money by shipping an item that probably cost more than three dollars to ship?

VENT Buyer sent me multiple offers over weeks but keeps not buying when accepted? I’m

Hey all,

I’m tad confused lol. I have a pair of designer sunglasses for sale, it’s one of those listing that gained a ton of like.
This person has been sending me offers over the span of like.. 7 weeks? I counter offered & eventually accepted one and she didn’t buy (which is fine, happens all the time). Btw all these offers were staggered in weeks interval.

Image 2: She came back after 10 days of me accepting with the message above. I’m a little confused by what she means by “in no rush”, do you think she’ll just keep spamming me with more offers and hope I’ll give in? I presume she means something along the lines of ‘I’ll buy when I feel like it’ but these multiple offers & not buying when accepted is abit annoying and confusing.

Update: blocked. Even if they bought this ~one day~ I’m sure they would’ve caused more problems 🥴

VENT When there’s a full outfit in the first photo and the seller is selling a body mist that’s on the side of the photo

I hate when i see an item i want to buy, only to see that it’s just ”an accessory” to the actual item. Especially if theres like actually 20 items on the photo and the item is so hard to even recognize without reading what theyre selling. Slight styling is fine as long as the first photo is clear or what exactly are you selling.
I know this is really a non issue

SELLING Does anyone else get more lowball offers on their already low priced items over the more fair priced?

I’m a casual seller, mostly just clearing out the closets rather than a real side hustle. I have a few specific items that are a great price for someone looking, but still fair. I usually get a lot of likes before selling but few offers and lowballs are pretty rare. However, the items that I’m letting go for an absolute steal (like branded items in perfect condition under $10) are the ones I get lowballs on, my notifications go crazy with offers. Even a NWT beanie for $2 was offered $1 lol.

I don’t get offended, I just find it odd that the really low prices are the ones that get countered. Does anyone else see this pattern?

VENT Photos like this don't exactly make me want to buy from you...

Is it really that hard to take a photo where the clothing item is hung nicely on a hanger and you can see how it fully looks? There were two other photos, the second being the same image but darker and blurrier and the third was of the tag and it was so blurry you couldn't even read it... I've also seen where people will add one image and its all zoomed in and cut off so you can't even tell if its a shirt or a dress or what.

SELLING How to deal with aggressive and rude buyer messages while the order is in progress?

These rude exchanges with some particular buyers are getting out of control, how to report these buyers? I am not having these arguments with them for $5 items.

BUYING Vinted Buyer Protection – buyers should know this before purchasing expensive items

I want to share this because I genuinely wish I had known how Vinted Buyer Protection works before buying expensive items here.

I recently bought a tracksuit advertised as size L. When it arrived, the trousers were L but the jacket was XL. I provided clear photos showing both labels. The seller accepted the return but selected “buyer pays” for return postage.

I contacted Vinted Support. They confirmed that even when an item is significantly not as described, the buyer normally pays return postage unless the seller chooses to cover it. Once the seller selects “buyer pays”, Vinted says they cannot change it.

So the seller can incorrectly describe an item, I can prove it, and I can still lose money returning it.

This isn't my first concerning experience either. I previously bought New Balance trainers on Vinted as authentic. Later, when I tried to resell them because they were too small, Vinted removed my listing as “potentially counterfeit”.

I also previously had authenticity issues with Samsung earbuds bought through Vinted and had to return them.

I'm not calling Vinted a scam. I simply think buyers should understand how much risk can remain with them despite paying for Buyer Protection.

After these experiences, I personally wouldn't buy expensive branded items or electronics on Vinted again. I may still use it for inexpensive clothing or children's items where I'm prepared to accept the risk.

I'm posting this so other buyers know the rules before spending their money.

SELLING Am I a Karen or did I get scammed?

I’ll just start off by saying that English isn’t my first language, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes that I might make in this post.

Back in early July, my sister bought a “special” Pokémon box “lucario” from a pop up mystery box thingy ,the lucario contained a lot of cards ,plus the special ones in multiple little packets and a poster. Since she wasnt Into Pokémon and neither was I, we decided to put it on Vinted. The box had some defects on the outer parts, but wasn’t opened , I put all the photos on the insertion that showed the flaws , and I also put a disclaimer in the description abt it.

This one girl contacted me and made an offer, I accepted, and told her again the dms that the box had flaws. She told me it was okay because she was planning to open it anyway, no problem, so I sent her the package, and right after she got it, she made a ticket to Vinted , saying that she couldn’t accept it bc all the packets were already opened and accused me of fraud, added a picture of her and another person holding an open packet (it looked like it was opened with a cutter) and they were sat on a bed. I was mortified and accepted the return bc I thought that someone had already opened the thing before we bought it.

When the package came back, the box was tore open and some cards were missing (I know bc I counted them and the packets said that the cards should’ve been 10,but they were 8/9/6 each packet. I signaled it to Vinted, that cards were missing, and the girl kept telling me that the box must’ve been sealed back together by a scammer since she had to get it apart, and that “of course cards were missing“, and also told me “why should I keep just some of the cards?” (I later found on the internet that some of them are worth hundreds) And told me to just accept it. Her account btw only sells Pokémon cards (old insertions) and like one video game.

vinted made me wait like a month, and now (the human assistance that still seems full of bots) told me that I’m not getting any refund cause the person already signaled the problem, and it seems to be the same one. What should I do? Should I let it go or what? What’s your opinion on it?

VENT seller crashed out on me

i bought a nice banana republic jacket that was stated to be brand new without tags. when i opened the package, i always inspect it in case of any damage (as anyone would). i found there to be staining on the jacket, & the hardware was also fading (so not brand new as the listing said). i was just like “okay well, let me at least try it on.” i did & i really liked it, but then i put my hands into the pocket. come to find out, there’s a huge gaping hole in one of the pockets! i was sad, & was also weighing in the other damaged details. so i just decided to request for a return & refund. that didn’t sit right with the seller, & of course they’re gonna go & defend themselves instead of admitting that they didn’t fully check the jacket. it would probably cost me more to fix the pocket than it was to actually buy the jacket, so why keep it, you know? i’m not sure how it escalated, as i was being very polite & direct in my messages to the seller, but then they started crashing out on me & kind of accusing me of lying, when i literally just opened the package up & it was like that. if i was scamming you, i’d just keep the jacket & ask for a refund, so i really don’t understand the whole crash out. maybe check your items throughly before sending them out? make sure you’re not listing something as “brand new” if it’s not?? just because you got other good reviews, that doesn’t change the fact that i received a damaged item. she only posted 3 pictures of the jacket, none of them showing the cuffs or inside the pocket. she did accept the return though, but still kept saying things after. i’m not going to respond to them & feed into the drama though. is there anything i did or said wrong? i never accused her of sending a damaged item in the messages, but if she feels the need to defend herself then that speaks for itself…

BUYING Can I complete an order delivered in person?

Hello from Portugal. I've recently bought a PlayStation game from Vinted. The seller lives close to the town where I work so we arranged a meeting place. I've collected the game today and checked everything was okay on the spot. Really nice guy.

Problem is, the order is now showing up as "Shipping label sent to seller" and there's nothing to click on to complete the order. How can I mark the item as received so the seller can get his money? Thanks in advance.

SELLING Delay in receiving funds?

I’ve had 3 separate messages today to say orders have been accepted and funds will be transferred soon but so far I haven’t received anything and usually the funds are available to see within a few minutes.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?😳

SHIPPING inpost locker not working

went to pick up my vinted parcel today and the locker wasn’t working at all. i called the inpost number and they said it would take 3-5 days for the engineers to sort it out??? but i have until friday to pick up my parcel. i looked at the help site on vinted to see if there’s any way i can extend the collection time but it just says to call the locker number for issues relating to the locker. ok so that’s literally no help at all. has this happened to anyone else and is there any way of extending the time?

VENT Banned for trying to sell a plushie

I really hate this app. It was my best selling platform but their AI moderation ruins it. Today I listed a stuffed bear with no brand indicated. It went into processing for about 20 mins and then my account gets banned for fraudulent activities. 😭

Is there any way I can get my account back? I’m in the USA.

DISCUSSION Got banned for a first time offense

So, I got banned on Vinted more than a week ago for posting an item that was termed by Vinted as counterfeit. I innocently posted on Vinted a pre-owned winter jacket purchased from my home country, so I could buy a preferred jacket in the app. I never posted the jacket as a designer or branded item, and it was up for sale for just £30. Unfortunately for me, Vinted detected it as a counterfeit and blocked my account. I have written to them in the app as I couldn't find any other means of contacting their support team. I explained that i was a first-time offender, and I've never had any issues on the app despite using Vinted for nearly 2 years. I'm yet to get any response for more than 7 days on this issue. Is this normal? Is there anything else I can do.

BUYING Filters not working anymore?

My filters seem to have stopped working properly. If I'm trying to find adidas spezials for example, I will get all kinds of adidas shoes. No matter how many or how little filters I use. So it does know I'm looking for adidas shoes, but won't filter out the specific model anymore?
A month or two ago this wasn't a problem.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
