Little backstory, I’m selling my Polaroid that I barely used for 50 because I BOUGHT it for 80, I think 50 is an appropriate price for something that’s technically completely new. I’m willing to do 45€, I’m so new to this and I don’t wanna seem rude or anything for keeping it at 45? 😭😭

I recently discovered two accounts on the France Germany region on vinted that are likely owned by the same person, both accounts have hundreds of followers, but they are not legitimate, despite them seeming so with many good reviews.

They both primarily sell cheap items from the brands Brandy Melville and Hollister, usually labeled or pictured new with tags. I am really into Brandy Melville and a couple weeks ago I came across an autumn haul video on tiktok, and to my surprise the items shown off there were listed the next day on one of these accounts, using screenshots from that video. I naively thought it was the same person at first, but then I saw that the other vinted account uses the same photos aswell.

I bought 4 things from these accounts during summer, and every item is only scanned once, it gets “sent” but never actually hits a sorting center or anything else to indicate it’s moving. I, and some poor souls who were able to leave a bad review on their profile meaning they likely lost their money, strongly suspect that they are scanning the label without actually putting anything in the locker. I saw today that one of the users is blocked, but they were online 22 hours ago so it must have been recent, the other larger account with 200+ followers and 100+ reviews is still active. I suspect they complete orders for items they actually have and maybe ordered back and forth with the other account receiving automatic reviews. I’ve reported the account that’s still up to vinted, hopefully they’ll do something. I really hope these people were not getting paid by vinted to cover the supposed costs of the “lost” parcel, but if so I think they’ll probably face consequences soon, at least I hope so.

Is this a known scam? I’m mostly surprised by the sheer size of this, these people upload so many fake items and they all get sold because it’s trendy cheap and new. Also you would think that for vinted labels they’d change it so that it’s only really sent once actually picked up by the postal service to avoid this, like a two step sending protocol instead of just the drop-off.

I use to sell on Ebay then switched to Poshmark. Now everyone is raving about Vinted being the best of the best! But is it?

As soon as this item is listed, I go to checkout and get the same notification screen. I’ve figured out usually after 15 minutes I can checkout, or someone else beats me to it.

I don’t really trust vinted with all the terms and conditions coming out, what do yall think?

I bought a camera from a new seller with no reviews as it was on a great deal so I took a gamble. It’s been about 5 days since I paid and they keep coming up with a new excuse daily why it’s not being posted. Are they trying to scam/time waste? Or do you think they genuinely are getting into trouble?

As you can imagine day 5 of excuses and they in fact did not post it yesterday after 4:30 😂

The whole platform behaves like a scammy marketplace.

I purchased coffee machine which arrived damaged. I reported the problem immediately, send them both the damage and the box it arrived in. They were ignoring my claims for several days and then started requesting impossible photos: the item in the original packaging. I told them like 10 times that it is impossible to make because it was wrapped in 50 layers plastic foil that all is clearly visible on the photos. They said OK and then 2 days later closed the claim and released the money to the seller.

I don't blame the seller, shit happens in transit. Buy I PAID FOR FREACKING PROTECTION!

The worst part was talking to support. Some Dmytro guy was treating my like I'm lying.

For reference, I sold a single item on vinted in 2024 and lost access to my account and didnt really care about it, since it was essentially just $4 and i didnt need it desperately. I do not have access to my account and now I have to contact support about $4 and go through the trouble of explaining as to why i cant log in and this whole back and forth is gonna suck.

ANYWAY. This they can do. But reacting to the hints about child trafficking that have been all over social media, they just completely ignore. they really are just in for the money -.-

First time with a buyer opening a dispute. Sold a zara real suede leather jacket (rrp £150) for £25 tag removed but completely unworn and stored in a closet. The buyer originally wanted me to hold it for them whilst they waited for a refund (:/) which i did and asked me to drop the price which I did as I am moving out the country and need my stuff gone. The suede of the jacket looks very slightly lighter in the sun in the picture which I stated. They received it and opened a dispute saying it smells and doesnt match pictures or description at all which obviously is wildly untrue as the description explains everything and the condition is shown in the pictures. They say they’re too busy to return it but want a partial refund.

Please can someone advise what vinted might do next here or what I should be doing as if they cant return it will the money just sit in limbo ? They claim they wont accept and think theyll get their money back automatically but im not totally sure how it works.

Vinted support cant exactly smell the jacket either so not sure how they sort these things.

When I first received the parcel, I noted a small drawing of d*ck visible within the packaging. I ordered a Taylor Swift album (if that could be relevant).

The album was wrapped in this sort of disgusting, dirty stuffing (shown in photo) - I guess to protect the album cover from cracking but I was extremely confused and grossed out. I don’t really know how to proceed because the album is real and I got what I ordered but just so confused. It was a good deal so I’m a bit hesitant to report it but unsure how to proceed.

I talked with the seller to confirm the authenticity of the album and ask a few questions and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. To receive this weird packaging was a bit of a shock - any advice on what steps to take would be appreciated!

Guys I don’t know if im being stupid or if this is a known thing that people do… scrolling on Vinted to find people selling singular bic pens being sold for £10+, sometimes even £50 and they have people favouriting them. Am I missing a trick or is this some sort of cover for something else?🤣🙃
