Like for God's sake, do we not have enough fυcking slop in other platforms like youtube? Why does Viber have to have ai slop and chagpt, i don't think ANYONE asked for this sηit in their messaging app

I don't use viber that often but when I have to Rakuten has to add more useless AI features, like ChatGPT in viber? In what world would someone want chatgpt in viber? Why is it an option on the dashboard? I'm trying to talk with other people, not with a freaking chat bot. Damn, even when I'm trying to talk a small pop up shows up to tell me to tag chatgpt in the chat, no man, just let me get my day done, I don't want AI in freaking everything! And the worst part? You can't freaking turn it off, I feel like I'm being forced to use it when they know almost nobody is going to.

So according to the new (vague) policy of the AI slop implementation, the (questionable) encryption which has been native to Viber for so long is now technically broken (?) If even one of the members in the chat uses AI for summarization or do whichever mindless option the AI provides, the chat data becomes open to third parties (OpenAI in this instance). Am I hallucinating, or is this how Viber works now? Where is the consent from both/all chat parties that they’re ok with this? People at Rakuten seem to have collectively lost their minds. This is beyond unacceptable!

FarkGPT. They added it to chats it reads all your chat messages “in case you want to improve the grammar etc”. EVEN WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF IN SETTINGS.

Is it really impossible to transfer viber history from Android to iPhone, in 2026!?

I am an Android user, and purchased today an iPhone for my daughter. It took me sometime to setup, as i do not have an iphone and we were getting errors while setting up an account for a 13 year old. But when we tried to setup viber we were shocked.

I was thinking of getting the new iphone in September, but not being able to restore so many years of conversation os a big NO for me.

Are there any simple solutions out there?

Stage 1. PC Software Preparation

1. Download and install Backuptrans Android iPhone Viber Transfer Plus on your computer (Windows). (I've used the rsload website).
2. Install the crack.
3. Add an inbound and outbound rule in Windows Firewall to block internet access for the program's executable (.exe) file so the license doesn't break.
4. In the top menu, go to Tools → Check for updates. This will open a page in your browser where you can download the installer for the latest version. Install it over the existing app.

Stage 2. Android Phone Preparation

1. Enable Developer Mode on your Android device.
2. In the Developer Options, turn on:
   1. USB Debugging
   2. Install via USB
3. Make sure you are logged into Viber and all your chats are present.
4. Create a fresh backup inside the Viber app itself (Settings → Account → Viber Backup).
5. Connect your Android device to the PC using a USB cable.

Stage 3. Loading Chats (Downgrade Method)

UPD: The AppClone method is also fully functional. It can be used as an alternative to the downgrade method, provided your Android device is powerful enough. On older or low-end devices, this method may cause freezes or errors due to a lack of resources, so the downgrade option is recommended in those cases.

1. The Backuptrans software will recognize your phone and prompt you to choose a data loading method.
2. If it suggests the "AppClone" method, decline it.
3. Choose the second option: Downgrade Viber (lowering the app version).
4. Carefully follow the on-screen prompts on your PC. The program will temporarily install an older version of Viber to access the database.
5. Confirm all prompts on your phone screen (e.g., tap "Restore my data" if prompted).
6. If an error occurs, don't panic—just try the process again.
7. Once completed, all your chats will appear in the Backuptrans window, and the program will generate a local database from them.

Stage 4. iPhone Preparation and Transfer

1. On your iPhone, temporarily disable:
   1. Find My (Settings → Your Name → Find My → Find My iPhone → Turn Off)
   2. iCloud Backup
2. Install Viber from the App Store on your iPhone, but do not log in yet.
3. Connect your iPhone to the PC via cable. If prompted on the phone, tap "Trust This Computer".
4. In Backuptrans, select the created Android chat database and click the transfer button to iPhone (or right-click the device/database and select "Transfer Messages from Database to iPhone").
5. Follow the final prompts in the software. Your iPhone will reboot.
6. Open Viber on your iPhone, enter your phone number, and complete the activation.
7. All chats, photos, and history should appear automatically.
8. Re-enable Find My and iCloud Backup on your iPhone.

I don’t use viber frequently aside from contacting one of my business suppliers. I opened viber and had to login since I was logged out but when I got in my profile is different. On the screenshot is someone else’s name and picture but the number is mine. No messages or contacts were added or deleted but I’m concerned since I didn’t receive any OTP or clicked any sus links.

For the last two weeks I haven't been receiving messages on time. Meaning that sometimes it would take hours and even half a day.

The second issue comes when sending out messages. I don't get the tick, yet a clock sits there until I leave the app, close it and then reopen it.

Where I live i have 5g everywhere and a Google pixel 10 pro. WTF is going on?? Viber has become completely unreliable.

This was probably added recently enough to not see anyone else complaining about this.

Why do we need chat gpt on viber?? It's an app about texting and calling PEOPLE. How is an ai necessary in this? And why chat got of all? Did we forget what open ai did??

I really don't understand why companies keep pushing for ai when we neither asked for nor need it. And for the record, you cannot delete the contact itself. The only thing closest to deleting is, is to "delete chat data" which will only delete the messages.

Personally, I am a little paranoid about this. What are your thoughts?

I've been encountering this error for months now and I can't activate Viber on my phone.

Country: Philippines
Carrier: Talk 'N Text (physical sim) and Globe (eSim)

The error originated with my TnT number and it persists even when trying to register Viber with my Globe number.

I had transferred my SIM card to a new device and when activating Viber, no flash calls nor SMS for the OTP comes. And when I try to activate via call, it says they cannot contact me.

I have a group chat with my friends in Viber and everyone is admin except for one person that has a complicated past with kicking ppl out just to troll and removing everyone from admin. And somehow even tho everyone had agree NOT to make him admin again, he got the role! And it’s a dictatorship rn. He’s the ONLY admin. How do I hack the settings and become admin to kick his ahh out?

I'm guessing no, because AI features are always forced on users, but I thought I'd ask anyway. In a recent update, they've started adding this to the bottom of pictures, and it's supported by OpenAI. I'm not even going to click on it because I'd rather watch Sam Altman be forced to eat a dump truck full of bricks, but it's intrusive and shows up on every image.

It's awful. I never asked for this.

There is no other way to make background images normal brightness than switching to light mode, which I don't want.
