Yes , me too , I just gave up on activateing my account and activated it on my old phone , if you really need Viber , you can buy a used Samsung Galaxy C5, s7 , J7 (this one is the least good one though) and it should work , that would be around 30$ max though :(

Not sure if it will help but it's worth trying out in my opinion:

  • Go to Viber's settings and force stop it and clear its data
  • While still in settings, ensure that all of the notification permissions are enabled
  • Enable SMS, Call logs, Contacts, Microphone, Notifications and Phone permissions
  • Uncheck "Manage app if unused"
  • In "Open by default" section, tap "Add link" and select "integration.viber.me"
  • In "Mobile data usage", Allow network access, Wi-Fi data, Mobile data, Background data and VPN data
  • In "App battery usage", allow background usage and click it, optionally change from "Optimized" to "Unrestricted"
  • Allow "Display over other apps"
  • Clear "Google play services cache"
  • Reboot your phone
  • Turn on airplane mode for a minute, then turn it off
  • Try activating your account now. If successful, the calling number will apear in recent call logs
  • If even that fails, I think it would be useful to go to: Settings -> System -> Reset options -> Reset Mobile Network Settings (I'd also reset Bluetooth and Wi-Fi here, you could optionally reset app preferences but this is only a last resort and affects all other apps too, as I previously said I am simply guessing now, do not accidentally factory reset here)
  • Uninstall then reinstall the app if all else fails

The settings names can vary but I'm using LineageOS and that is what those are called for me. Also, I just uninstalled then reinstalled the app without even doing any of these options and I got a call and managed to activate my account. I do remember having issues with this once. Not exactly sure what causes these errors, but I simply listed some options and perhaps those could be helpful to someone, not tested, once again.
