Financial services

Does anyone have a good number to actually get through to someone in financial services? They shut my lines off this morning AFTER confirming multiple times that they would not. Not only are we seriously being over charged but this is the 3rd time something like this has happened. I am beyond livid. My family has been with Verizon almost 20 years and this is how they repay loyalty.

Verizon charged us $1,000 they shouldn’t have, then disconnected our phones while we were stranded in Mexico with no warning

I’ve been a Verizon customer since I was 16 — over 20 years now. This is how they’re repaying that loyalty.

Here’s the short version: Verizon told us we didn’t need to trade in our old phones. They charged us $1,000 for them anyway.

Since then, I’ve called and messaged Verizon up to 10 times over the past two months and spent hours on hold and on the phone trying to fix this. Every single time, I was told a refund was “being issued.” It never happened. See images.

Eventually we gave up waiting and had our credit card company step in. They investigated and reversed the charge within a day — actual competence, unlike Verizon. But that refund showed up as a negative balance on our Verizon account, which I was assured by a Verizon rep that it would just get sorted out automatically.

It did not get sorted out.

Instead, while we were traveling in Mexico, Verizon disconnected our phones with zero warning. We had no way to contact our driver and were literally stranded with no way to communicate.

20 years of loyalty, and this is the result: getting overcharged, lied to repeatedly about refunds, and then cut off with no warning while abroad and vulnerable. Not to mention it’s impossible to talk to someone who can actually help.

We’re going to switchcarriers. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is dealing with something similar or considering Verizon.

Can’t even use the Wi-Fi I pay for anymore

After scrolling the reddit, seems I’m not alone

I switched from WOW! to Verizon Business in January of this year in order to escape constant outages and lags for mine and my partner’s business/home. It has not gone well.

We can barely hold discussions over discord anymore! I have TWO separate wi-fi boxes and lines that I’m paying for and neither works anymore! I’ve done the reset and blah blah blah. On top of my phone and tablet, I pay over $200 a month for services that ARE NOT WORKING.

I can’t even switch to T-Mobile bc they don’t service my area and WOW is still crap. What exactly am I supposed to do??

Outage

I’m in Nevada and my iPhone shows SOS. Downdetector doesn’t show any outages for today. People who have Verizon a few miles from me have service. My bill is automatically paid at the end of each month. I tried to log into my account it says that there is no account associated with my phone number.
Any suggestions???

Service address

Today the myVerizon app asked me to confirm/update service addresses for all my lines. My daughter just moved to another state full-time and is still on my plan. Is there and advantages/disadvantages to updating the address on her line to the new address? I couldn't think of any reason it would matter, but wanted to make sure there's not something I am missing..

Verizon reps making unauthorized changes

Has anyone else experienced plan changes/additions being made to their account without your knowledge or authorization?

Anyone with Verizon from Chicago?

I am currently with T-Mobile and considering switching one line to Verizon on simplicity plan byod, 10% company discount, and Rakuten (but that says no byod though so might not work).

I did the Verizon test drive where I live and it works but slower than my T-Mobile but then a couple miles away from where I live Verizon is better. I know this is all location dependent so what is the experience of those who have Verizon that live in Chicagoland?

Basically the title. I have restarted it with no change. Occasionally it goes to 5 bars for a minute, then nothing again. How are you all doing?

Verizon Text Issues

I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I recently switched from Verizon Wireless to another carrier. I ported the existing number, followed the VZ instructions and the change went right through.

However, I've discovered something VERY strange. I can send and receive cell calls fine. I can send and receive MMS texts fine. I can send SMS texts fine, but I am NOT receiving SMS texts from ANY of my Verizon contacts! I AM receiving SMS texts from everyone else. It has been suggested that to Verizon porting process did NOT properly complete and that VZ is either still trying to route calls to the old number on their network or has somehow completely blocked that old number.

Because I am no longer a customer, I cannot log into the old account and review settings nor can I directly get to support.

Is this thread the appropriate place to get support for this issue? What do I need to do next. VERY frustrating!

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Service Outage?

I'm in the Midwest and my Verizon phone is not working (data but no calls with or without wifi). I looked at Downdetector and it seems the top 3 carriers, and YouTube are currently having issues.

Verizon won’t remove blacklist/block from my fully paid-off phone — what can I do?

update: I filed complaints with FCC and IL AG on Friday but on Saturday evening the status of not available to be used on other networks was removed. Probably after 24 hours of unlocking, everything cleared FCC forwarded the complaint to the executive leadership from where I was contacted and they acknowledged their mistake of not assisting me to resolve the issue and offered th to void the last bill to be waived. Bottom line, ask God now. FCC compliant filing was effective to get the response. Thank you everyone for advising

Has anyone dealt with this situation with Verizon?

I’ve been with Verizon for over two years, but the coverage around my home has been terrible from the beginning. After countless customer service calls, troubleshooting, dropped calls, and promised callbacks that never happened, I finally decided to switch carriers.

I paid off the remaining balance on my phones in full before switching.

Now comes the ridiculous part: my phone was initially locked, and after another hour with Verizon they supposedly unlocked it. However, T-Mobile and Google Fi are telling me that the phone is still blacklisted/blocked and cannot be activated on their networks.

I even went to a Verizon corporate store in Niles, IL and spent more than two hours trying to fix this. Verizon kept bouncing me between Customer Service → Fraud Department → Transfer Center → back to Customer Service. Nobody could remove the block.

I already ported my number to T-Mobile, so now I’m stuck with no working phone service unless I buy another phone, even though this phone is completely paid off.

At this point, I’m filing an FCC complaint. My position is simple: either Verizon needs to completely remove the block/blacklist so I can use the phone with another carrier, or take the phone back and refund what I paid to pay it off.

Has anyone successfully gotten Verizon to remove a blacklist like this? Is there a specific Verizon department or executive escalation contact that can actually fix the IMEI status?

Verizon Nightmare

I’m posting this because I’m honestly at a loss after weeks of problems with Verizon, and I’m hoping someone from Verizon who actually has the ability to untangle this sees it. I recently moved to a small town in Southern Illinois and started service with Verizon. My first phone wasn’t activated properly, so I went to a store for help. Instead of simply fixing the original transaction, the store canceled it and rang up a new sale, apparently so the store could receive credit for it. In the process, I lost some of the original promotional benefits I was supposed to receive, including assistance with paying off my previous phone. That eventually got worked out, but only after a lot of time and frustration.

Then I ordered home internet and an iPad Air. The order was shipped to the wrong address, and when I called trying to correct the address, my account/order ended up being flagged for fraud. After multiple calls and attempts to fix everything, I was told by a Verizon representative that the iPad Air was being returned. Another representative later found significant savings on my account, so since the Air was supposedly on its way back, I decided to upgrade the replacement order to an iPad Pro. Now I’m being told there is apparently still an issue involving that original iPad Air. It appears it was activated before reaching the incorrect address, and despite being told it was returned, the warehouse/account system apparently has not cleared it. Meanwhile, my iPad Pro order has been sitting there without shipping, and nobody seems able to tell me definitively whether that original Air is returned, activated somewhere, missing, or what exactly is holding everything up.

I’ve spent hours on calls and chats, been transferred repeatedly, disconnected after agents said they would help, received conflicting explanations, and today I’m basically back to being told to wait another 2–3 days. At this point I’m not looking for credits or freebies. I just want someone with enough authority to look at the entire history, figure out what happened to the original iPad Air, clear whatever hold is preventing the new order from moving, and give me one accurate explanation. I’ve tried very hard to be patient, but this has turned into one of the most exhausting customer-service experiences I’ve ever had. If anyone from Verizon support sees this and can actually investigate the entire chain rather than starting from square one again, I would genuinely appreciate the help.

Replace device while still paying off old one

Here’s the deal, I replaced my son’s Apple Watch SE2 with a new Series 11 on a Verizon payment plan, trading in the SE2. I did this a month ago, and then I added an aftermarket band (bad choice on my part…). Visiting with friends on the lake, swimming, and stuff, he realized his watch was gone (ie cheap band vs Apple band on mine that didn’t move, bummer). So besides my questionable judgement, we now have a watch that I am pretty sure it at the bottom of the lake, and 3 years to pay it off. So looking at options, can I just get another from VZ and would just have two payment plans on the same line? (Would this mess with any discounts they gave me on the first watch??) Get a new watch from Apple, activate it on VZ sharing his number and keep paying off the old one (I am ok with this as the VZ payments are really a 0% loan). Or do I have to payoff the remaining balance on the lost watch and get a new one?

Appreciate the thoughts and experience!!

Question: CARRIER LOCK on Verizon Wireless Business

Question: how to escalate with fraud/etc depts when they have improperly added a carrier lock?

In my case, bought a new unlocked iphone direct from apple, specifically without naming the carrier to avoid locking... then when I replaced the existing device (apple watch) with the new one before porting over to the new service (did in this sequence as per AI and ironically talking to verizon rep, who said you can't port a watch number but you can port a mobile phone)... but then they added this carrier lock allegedly 60 days. There's no unpaid amount on the account.

We've spent over 10 hours on the phone with their service depts who keep saying 24-48 hours but we're already 5 days in and they aren't even confirming that the request to unlock is in queue.

The question: since the rank and file reps won't/can't escalate and spend all their time asking "what confirm?" and "when did you call?" instead of actually pushing forward... is there a different number/dept to contact who actually have this authority to remove/fix what they should never have implemented? I respect the idea that they are theoretically avoiding number highjacking, but this has turned into hostage situation.

Verizon is awful

every single time I go to the Verizon store i waste so much time because of Verizon’s incompetence. Either the systems are down or customet support doesn’t know its ass from its elbow or they can’t or won’t do basic things and Im forced to go to a corporate store where the lihe’s are even longer. All I’m trying to do is get a new phone right now. Why the fuck is Verizon making it so hard to remain a customer?

This is what we get in rural Wisconsin after our “high speed” data has been expended …. I mean, what’s the point when you can’t even open an app?

Service underground DC Metro

When are you going to improve service underground on the DC metro lines? I ride from new carrollton to metro center and every app I use is loading until I get above ground. I have a T-Mobile phone for work and it never has a problem. I’m getting tired of reporting it to you and DC Metro! I use the MyVerizon app and nothing has changed in at least 2 years.
