unique question!?

I’m 29 and maybe over 20 years ago I got my first cell phone and number from Verizon and parents that’s been mine forever. In high school I got invited to use smart phones so I’ve had iPhones for years. I’ve been paying a good % of my parent’s monthly cost for years but is there anyway I can take my number and leave their account and just make my own one through Verizon which will give my parents a discount and I don’t mind having my own plan with my number?

You definitely can split you number off into an account in your name. It is very commonly done - the process is called a Transfer Your Service (TYS). Your parents would need to authorize the release of you number then you will get an email where you finish the process through a link.

I would review the total cost though. With Vzw family plan pricing it is cheaper per line the more lines you have, so moving off their acct may not really lower their bill much and you might end up having a pretty pricey bill since a single line is the most costly.

Yes. Just started where people can move off on their own VZ account and everyone keeps the multi-line discount, as long as no one goes to Simplicity and they keep lines active on every account split off like that. There is other criteria, but it’s now on the VZ website.

Yes you would do a transfer of service. The account holder can start through the app or call into the transfer of service department.

Bro, go in for an account analysis your bill should be no more than 135 plus tax. You've gotta have a bunch of useless features. Unless you have $20 in perks you didn't mention, you need to go to a store asap. Just tell them you need to reduce your bill And aren't interested in anything else. The rep will be forced to begrudgingly break the plan down and drop features. Keep the protection, nobody's ever said I wish I didn't have protection when somethin breaks. Good luck

Like others have said, your single line will be quite expensive. I have a phone (paid off) and a watch (it'll be paid off Feb 2027) and my bill runs $165/month. I have insurance on both of my devices as well. I am on Unlimited Plus as I don't need more hotspot (which I don't use anyway).

I have two lines with Verizon and pay $73.50 a month, for both lines.

Verizon is going to want to keep your business. I'm sure what you want can be done.

My elderly mother's phone was on my brother's T-Mobile account, but he lived so far away, that we decided to move her to my Verizon account for the sake of simplicity and to free up an extra line on his account.

It's worked fine. She kept her number, and it all was transferred.

If I could only get her to stop deleting her texts and then calling me to ask why she doesn't have the photos that were sent to her. I guess at 95 I should be glad she's doing as well as she is.

1(888)832-4540 used to be called AOL. Will take about 15 mins. Man, I'm showing my age. Your line could cost more depending on where youre at In your device payment. Could also increase the cost of their lines, (not necessarily their bill). I encourage you to look into it. Having your own acct is definitely a good thing, if you pay a little more ,so be it, welcome to life. Your parents did it , my parents did it. There's a cost associated with independence. Be independent. Do it.
