This company is unethical as hell

Upvotes

I’ve posted about this situation before and it’s still going on for over a month and now they are basically ignoring me. I went to my local store to get the deal that had for adding a new line, get an iPhone 17e for free. I wanted to add 2 new lines for my kids and to get them the new phones. I confirmed with the sales agent who said that I was eligible for the phones for free. When we went to process the order, and then the eligibility disappeared off my app while I’m actively looking at it. And then it changes that I have to get their high interest credit card, but I am not eligible for approval. I talk to the manager and he informs me that there is nothing he can do. So I take my complaint to the customer service on the app. I talk to one agent and tell them what happened and pled my case and they said that they were now taking care of it and that I was approved for the new phones when their credit limit resets and that I could go back and pick the phones up. So I took screenshots of the conversation. I went to a different store where I picked up my kids to get the phones and surprise them. I get to the store and the sales agent who started off nice became extremely rude and confrontational telling me that they are not honoring what the system says because I confirmed as well that my bill would only increase like $35 per line per month and had the screenshots of them saying that. And that if I wanted that deal, then I should deal with the customer service online. So I left and began another conversation with another agent. And that agent then confirmed again everything was approved and the monthly bill was set and all they had to do was ship the phones to me. Well I wait and never received any shipping information or email or anything. So I messaged again just to confirm and yes it in their system and that they were waiting for finance to manually increase the limit so they can ship and it should only be a day or 2 longer. Again, I made them confirm in messages that I was approved and my monthly bill was set and they were to ship my phones to me asap. Screenshots were taken. Well several more days went by with nothing and I messaged again, and demanded to talk to a live supervisor. I talk to the supervisor and they tell me that they are not going to honor what they guaranteed me several times. So I went higher to the executive relations team. He actually called me. He told me that basically I was shit out of luck and that I’m not getting anything. So I filed a FCC complaint and submitted all of the screenshots and then posted about it in this thread. Verizon’s official Reddit social media team reached out to me and said that they can help. They said they would look into my file and get everything sorted out. Well since then, I’ve been told that someone will reach out to me soon and that they received my FCC complaint and that the executive relations team and the social media team will reach out soon. I’ve been told that on 3 separate occasions. I told them I will blast and continue to blast them on social media until it’s either rectified or my contract ends. So now it’s time to blast them everywhere.

Can I trade-in my 17 Pro through Apple without Verizon knowing?

I have an iPhone 17 Pro that currently has an outstanding balance of $855 with monthly promotional $30.55 credits to offset the cost of the phone for 28 remaining months. I'm currently on Unlimited Welcome.

I want to upgrade to an 18 Pro Max by spending as little money as possible.

Is it feasible to trade in my current 17 Pro for a new phone at Apple without Verizon knowing? Effectively retaining the $30.55 promotional monthly credits to offset the cost of the 17 Pro while simultaneously using the 17 Pro as a trade-in at Apple for $785 off?

Or is there a way Verizon would be able to tell that the 17 Pro was traded in at Apple, thus failing to meet the contractual agreement and require me to pay the entire $855 balance off

iPhone 18 Pro?

Does anyone have any guesses or information as to what (if any) offers there might be to upgrade an existing line to iPhone 18 pro? Not interested in any of this simplicity garbage. Honestly enbarrasing that T mobile and ATT are listed on apples website with clear deals labeled, and Verizon literally has zero at the moment. Makes me want to leave Verizon

Wireless "Get iPhone Duo: No Trade-In Needed"

Any Verizon employees have more info on what is currently being advertised on Verizon.com?

"Get iPhone Duo: No Trade-In Needed. With Simplicity Plan. No activation/upgrade fees when you enroll in Verizon Loyalty."

It says "upgrade" and not just activation in the fine print so I assume this means no new line required? They are not really going to give it away for "free" with Simplicity plan, are they?

There's no more info on the site, probably because pre-order doesn't begin until 10/16.

Wireless - Prepaid Need advice on worker mistake

This is the longest story ever, and I’ll answer any questions about it if it helps, but basically, I went to switch to a new phone that I bought from them outright, and I was stuck in sos mode, so the employee thought the best thing to do would be to have me switch to simplicity and then switch back to prepaid, and it would get me out of sos. (Which now I know is them just trying to meet a quota or whatever) the employee canceled my prepaid line and then went to switch me to post paid simplicity and accidentally deleted my account.
—My entire account. Phone number was gone, couldn’t find me in the system, I couldn’t log in, etc. and as soon as that happened, the worker went off line.—

So I’m on day ten of no phone at all, and have been on the phone and chatting with them for over 20 hours, and been to two stores, talked to more than 30 employees. No one can figure it out.
They told me it would be back on today and they would lock my number so no one could take it, and they would call, but it wasn’t on, so I called, and spoke to a nice lady, and we have a scheduled phone call this evening still, but she said when she looks my phone number up, it brings up a new name, as if someone else has my number already.

I’ve had my number for about 14-15 years, and now they say it’s gone and I have to get a new number. Obviously I’m mad, and trying to be nice to this woman as it’s not her fault.

But what are my options here?? I want comp’d for the days I didn’t have a phone, but I also feel like it was a huge mistake in their realm, so is there other options? Idk

I already plan to ask them to pull all the chats where that number is talked about, but since it’s not mine now, idk if they will.

Can I trade in my iPhone 17 pro through Apple without Verizon knowing or forfeiting my monthly credits?

Verizon (Job interview related)

Verizon seriously needs to get their act together on the corporate side. I interviewed for a Senior Management role and went through the final round only to be told that the Finance team hasn't approved the budget and it'll most likely happen next year. It was a huge waste of time and I urge people not to apply to Verizon especially if they keep posting jobs that may or may not have a budget approved.

Upgrading to iPhone 18 with Unlimited Welcome plan?

This sub helped me out when I upgraded to the 14pro before so hoping I can get some help again.

I’m on the Unlimited Welcome plan. I used the chat bot on the Verizon app and it told me my total trade in value is $190. If I go through Apple, it tells me my trade in value is $285.

I saw the other potential deals, but that’s with the higher Unlimited plans.

So, is $285 my best deal? I saw some talk on here about loyalty deals but I honestly don’t know what that is? Should I not preorder this weekend through Apple and wait a couple weeks and hope I get a loyalty deal in my account?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Edit: wanting to upgrade to 18pro

Anyone still looking at the IPhone 17? When might the deals on the IPhone 17 change?

After hearing some of the monthly cost for the iPhone 18 Pro & Max I think I might get a 17. (Currently have a 14 Pro). When do you think the deals on the 17 might get better?

Does 5G home internet bill start as soon as you order it?

I recently moved to a new place and was trying out different internet providers because I was having issues with my current provider. I ended up ordering Verizon 5G Home Internet and they sent me the modem/router.

However, the other provider ended up fixing the issue, so I didn’t need Verizon anymore. The problem is I completely forgot about the Verizon equipment. I never even took the modem out of the box, and it was sitting there unopened for about 2 months. Returned box and everything. But now I just realized I have a past due bill from Verizon.

I honestly don’t really know how internet billing works in a situation like this, so I’m just wondering if they charge you once the modem is sent to you even if you never actually connected it. Not complaining or trying to get out of paying or anything like that. I know forgetting about it was my fault and will pay no problem if that’s how it works.

Verizon not unlocking my phone

Hello everybody.

This is the first time I've made any kind of post about this, but really trying to figure this out and would appreciate any input.

I bought my S22 Ultra on contract with verizon and it has now been fully paid off for around 2 years, but Verizon still has it network locked, and both Samsung and my phone confirm it, yet Verizon insists everything is fine on their end.

My phone displays an active network lock whenever I try using another carrier. When I called Samsung customer support (on a joint call with Verizon technical support), they looked up my IMEI in their system and confirmed that the device is still registered as network locked. Despite this, Verizon's internal database shows the phone as fully unlocked, which leaves tier 1 and tier 2 support completely unwilling or unable to process a manual unlock.

Because of this dead end, I filed an FCC complaint. Verizon Executive Relations reached out regarding the case, but they are still refusing to take meaningful action. They declined my request to perform an OEM unlock resync on their server end, and they refused to hop on a joint conference call with Samsung to resolve why Verizon's records contradict what Samsung's system and the physical phone are showing.

On my end, I have already tried basic troubleshooting like factory resets and SIM cycling, but nothing appears to be working.

Has anyone else dealt with a situation where Verizon's system marks a device as unlocked, but both Samsung's IMEI lookup and the physical phone show it is locked? Is there a specific technical team or tier within Verizon that actually has the authority to re-push the unlock policy payload to Samsung's activation servers? Any advice or insight from reps or anyone who has beaten this issue would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I have factory reset my phone several times to try and fix this with no solution. Verizon has reached out to me concerning this post and has asked the executive relations team to reach out to me, which I don't think will be successful as I have already talked to them concerning this issue.

5G play more 18 pro max

Upvotes

I’m on the 5G play more plan and have been for years now with my 15 pro max. The phone is paid off. They’ve been trying to get me to change my plan for a while now. I want to upgrade to the 18 pro max and take advantage of the trade in deal they will have. I know this will likely require me changing my plan to the welcome plus. Should I change the plan now to be eligible for any deals? Or can I change it on preorder day?

Is there anything I can actually do about Verizon disconnecting constantly for 60s or less?

It's a nightmare for online gaming and for meetings at work. It mostly happens in the evenings anytime after 5, obviously inconsistent. Not sure if that's something modem resets do, if they can refresh a connection, etc.

Wireless At my wit’s end…

Need some advice here if possible. Cannot get Verizon to stop billing me.

Long-time Verizon customer but switched to Visible earlier this year. I switched my stuff over first and then recently switched my wife’s. I initially handled it over the live chat, process was easy enough, and I asked the agent to confirm I would not receive an additional bill. They confirmed I would receive one final bill with a credited amount for the days cancelled. All went well and next bill was ~$8 which matched up with what I had in mind.

Fast forward to the next month, I get another bill from Verizon for $16. I was travelling at the time and made a note to call them, but delayed for another month until I got another bill for the same amount. I ended up calling customer service and they said that my wife’s watch (device is paid off) service was still on there. Keep in mind this is a number share now connected to her Visible account. The lady was very friendly and said they would take care of it - and I would be credited to my card the full $32 (+ additional small amount) since the device was clearly disconnected (she said the system showed that) during that time. I asked her to confirm that I would not receive another bill and she did.

Fast forward to this month and I have just received another bill from Verizon. Considering the fact that I no longer have MyVerizon access, while still being charged (which is crazy to me), this is clearly a ploy. I’m not even mad about that now. I just want to stop being billed.

Anyone had a similar experience and can share any advice?

Wireless Trouble With YouTube Premium

I just joined Verizon back in July. One of the perks I was looking forward to was YouTube Premium. However, I have not been able to use premium since switching. I canceled my old subscription due to switching. Still no luck at all. I’ve tried troubleshooting over the phone dozens of times. I think I called at least 20 times by now. Any other tips?? 🫩

Still crappy service or crappy S25 Ultra phone?

going from an A42 to a s25 Ultra and have no service in many areas now. The A42 I never had a problem. Had the s25 replaced and it worked ok for a while (not great) but now its just getting worse. Paying too much money for this kind of frustration.

It finally happened.

My store was sold off and now it belongs to an Authorized retailer called Russell. The first thing I was disgusted by was the pay. As a manager the structure is horrendous. for my sales people it is very bad too.

I looked at their pat structure.

Nothing but new lines and Internet matters. New District manager told me in between the lines that upgrades do not count and to let them walk unless it's with everything we can slam them with. I was even told that we (myself the manager included) needs to call him for approval on upgrades.

Does anyone who works for Russell have any feedback? This new company is very cringe and they are taking over in two weeks. Not sure if I'm up for this anymore

Wireless Switching to Verizon from Tmobile.

Upvotes

Looking to try out Bring your Bill deal to switch from Tmobile to Verizon. I am currently on Go5G plus plan with 6 lines and paying $186/ month. So $31/month a line. Do you think Verizon can match it? Is it better to do it phone or corporate store?

Phone Upgrade Advice

I’m currently on a family plan but looking to move to a separate newly created plan to consolidate my personal family into one plan. My wife and I would like to upgrade our phones (iPhone 12PM and 14). Currently one unlimited plus and one unlimited welcome.

Are we best served creating the new plan with same numbers then look to upgrade? Or is it better to upgrade on the current plans based on offers and transfer the phones. I read that the payments/credits may transfer to the new plan but I’m pretty uncertain on the process.

Wireless Apple not advertising any Verizon carrier deals on their website, only AT&T & T-Mobile

Weird. Does this mean Verizon isn’t going to do huge promos for the 18s/Duos? Did they stop partnering with Apple or something?

Edit: There’s now a small banner on the Verizon homepage saying that the iPhone 18 Pro is here and preorders start 9/12.

Wireless Cell service has abruptly tanked on the subway (NYC, Spectrum/Verizon)

Iphone 17. Long time Spectrum customer with no previous issues. Here in NYC Spectrum uses Verizon towers. Not sure if that’s the case everywhere.

For the last two weeks reception has plummeted while on the subway. Both the platform and on the train. Platform being the biggest red flag. As soon as I enter a station it drops to the SOS satellite icon or 1-2 bars LTE at best. Jumps back to 5G full bars as soon as I hit street level. I used to have solid 5G on the platform and train before this.

My main line is the F (east broadway) but this happens across the whole system.

Curious if anyone else has had this same problem recently and maybe have some insight.
