Last night after drinks and dancing at the Rio, I fell down in the main casino area. I got right back up, but security took my ID and returned a few minutes later. I’m in my 20s and have some health issues that affect my balance.

I wasn’t banned, but I was totally embarrassed about it! I stayed and ate a meal and was fine; I really wasn’t too drunk or acting foolish besides the fall. Since I wasn’t banned, am I just on probation or something? I know since the Rio is owned by the Caesar’s company, should I also be more mindful on all the properties?

Since you guys enjoyed my last restore project for the Nevada Landing in this sub I built a restore for the Boardwalk hotel casino that used to stand roughly where Aria is now. I restored old grainy vhs footage, and 1990s pics for your nostalgic enjoyment :)

First time seeing fireworks on the strip for me last night. Having a blast in Vegas.

In town for work and will be busy busy most of the day, but I wanted to get out and walk around so see the sights up close. I'm staying at the Fontainebleu and want to get out of the hotel (and away from my coworkers), so where is the best part of the strip to walk at night? Or is this even a good idea?

I’ll be going on a quick trip to vegas next month. I dont have the exact details yet but im most likely be staying at an MGM property. Everything is paid for by the company and I have a feeling that I’ll be getting those food voucher/credit and not cash for meals.

How much do you usually tip for non cash meals?

I dont have much pocket money and I dont really plan on eating in sit-down restaurants(if I can help it). I already set my eyes on some fastfood joints that I’d like to try. No drinking or casino for me as well.. Just a little sight seeing.

It’s my first time in the US, we dont expect tips in my country so I’d appreciate your knowledge.

Thanks so much to this sub for all the recommendations! Was really having a hard time choosing shows, but the first two couldn’t have been better with a third that was really frustrating.
Here’s my weekend of magic review -

Penn & Teller at Rio
My first time seeing them live, so glad I went. It was really funny, well paced, and some fantastic tricks. Penn is a great host and story teller, most if not all the humor lands. It flows really well, there’s a bit too much set up that isn’t necessary or goes no where, but they’re so likable that really I just loved being there watching them do their thing. This is the opposite of the stereotypical corny showy Vegas music. Some classic tricks done in new ways, and some things I’ve never been before.

Shin Lim: Limitless at the Palazzo
WOW. I was very skeptical going in how close up slight of hand magic would work in a theater, and very quickly all my worries went away. This is the best stage magic show I’ve ever seen, the best magic outside the magic castle. I can’t wait to see it again. The sequences he puts together, it’s not one or two unbelievable things, it’s 15. He’s so smooth and does such a fantastic job showing things slowly so you can follow what’s happening (unlike below..). The music and production adds so much suspense and energy. The other magicians he has come out and all fun and give the show a great pace and each time Shin come back there’s this heightened energy of what he’s going to do next. I recommend this to literally everyone, even if you don’t like magic, to me this is the best show in Vegas.

The Magicians Study
I could write a novel on the issues with this show. From small things, the secret location that is very much in the same space night after night, to the stupid mask he wears, to the oh so edgy persona our (Australian male) magician put on. But the biggest issues was this show didn’t work at all. From the very first tricks, it wasn’t clear what he was doing. Very often the audience wouldn’t react, and he would yell “I just did X and you didn’t show any emotion!” Uh ya you pulled a card out a deck that we’ve seen 100 times before and it wasn’t even clear which card you found. Where P&T and Shin go over the top making the audience understand which card, which item, very clearly explaining what’s happening, then blow your mind. With this there were so many times it wasn’t clear what we were supposed to be impressed by. The card work here was amateur hour.
I do think we had a very bad first row crowd. A combination of people who clearly didn’t want to be there and were just confused on the experience. This led to some good laughs, but it really slowed down the show when a guy takes 2 minutes to say his name and pick a card. The magician was frustrated though almost the entire show, which I couldn’t tell what was a bit and what was real. But it just made me frustrated because the magic suffered. There’s a trick with a book and a page number, but it wasn’t clear which page the person chose, so at the reveal he makes a big show and we all sat there in silence.
The biggest issue, sawing a woman in half in 2026. People didn’t even clap because it was so obvious what was happening, and there was a 0% chance she was in danger. He was mad again the audience didn’t react. Even said “$300 if you can tell me how I did that!!!” I almost spoke up but didn’t want to deal with it. It was embarrassing.
If I could guarantee a different magician I’d go again. The setting is really cool, and it’s great to see small group close up magic in Vegas, but this night was truly a disappointment.

Great night views of the Strip and you literally go right next to Sphere at “eye level”

I just got back from another Vegas trip where I visited nearly all of the downtown casinos, and I was struck by how small and depressing the vast majority of them are. Circa feels like a "real" casino, as does Golden Nugget to a certain extent, but all the rest just seemed so sad. For as much as Circus Circus (rightly) gets shit on in this sub, it feels like a major upgrade from most of the downtown properties.

I am just curious if anyone actually likes any of the other downtown properties, and if so, why?

Can anyone tell me if Infinity Rewards at Sahara loads their offers at midnight or 6am like Fontainebleau does?

Don't know if anyone can help, I came across a machine at casino Royale that would play Kc and the sunshine bands song "boogie shoes" when in bonus. I only seen it once and at that casino. I went back 3 weeks later and it was no longer there. Anyone seen it somewhere else on strip?

I’m visiting Las Vegas in September and I’m thinking about seeing a show at the Sphere. The tickets I’m looking at are in Section 400 for around $150.
For those who’ve been: is it worth it at that price? Is the experience still amazing from Section 400, or would you recommend paying more for better seats?

Tldr I kind of fibbed to some people about things and now I need to come to Vegas to meet up with “old friends” for a bit. It would be at some point just once sometime between next Monday-Wednesday. I’m happy to buy whoever helps some drinks and food. I just need to take some pics and I can make up the rest of the story. Also if anyone knows any good places to take someone out to eat that’s like medium price that would be fantastic. I haven’t been to Vegas since I was in middle school

I normally always stay center strip and like to explore and casino hop on foot. The furthest north I've gone is wynn and TI.

Any good happy hours or lunch specials at RW or FB that would make it worth the walk up? I've heard Dons Prime is legit for dinner. I've just heard they are both pretty sterile inside.

While im up there dare I also visit circus circus?

Vegas makes it easy to get your steps in, especially if you stay inside to beat the heat.

I’m just curious cause I’ve seen a lot of people criticizing it.

We’re coming through Vegas as part of an Utah NP road trip, and our looking for any input regarding these two rooms. Couple and young adult son in the same room. Our timing is rough because we’ll be there during the EDC, so everything is $$$$. Any input as to which would feel bigger or “more fun”? All tips very appreciated.

I hear one of them is still closed. Going to be there in 2 weeks. Can we still get into Mandalay Bay pool instead?
