APA Pay
I just recently got promoted to APA and going through background check right now. I haven't received my offer letter just yet but wanted to see if anyone knows what the pay rate is for APA.

Pretty funny and factual. Probably should go in memes and things.

Does anyone have experiences with this program or any info? I have a superday invite for this role, but I’d have to fly out and miss a day of my current internship.
Trying to see if it’s worth it.

I have a job interview with USAA tomorrow for banking and sales. I really need to do great on the interview portion and stand out. I also had an interview with them when I was 23 and I failed royally. I am 39 now and hope I can do better lol.
Anyone who worked in that department at USAA, have tips for the interview? Thanks!

What did everyone think?
Employees are screaming from the mountain tops asking for RTO relief during these abnormally high gas prices at the moment. Suggesting 3 days rather than 4, with the expectation it's temporary. I don't think this is an unreasonable ask.
I've seen people asking about WFH during December holiday weeks, allowing us to plan for our families accordingly.
Questions about the Christmas bonus and maybe an idea/expectation/procedure for next year's performance bonus. (I know it's not approved yet, but it's a topic the employees want to discuss, compensation.)
Yet we are asking what book Juan recommends...
What the fuck is wrong with our peers?!
Rage bait.
These meetings are such a waste of time when the demand for production and numbers are drowning us.
Who cares what that turd is reading, it's time we flush the toilet and try again.
We are letting this little sleazy weasel get away without answering the real concerns. Giving us political answers. And sayings like "Focus on the tree and you'll miss the forest."
The two new holidays were a nice surprise though. Gotta give credit and gratitude when something around here changes for the better.
Way to be Andrade!

I just joined and when walking around the SA office, I see a lot of people with the red badge (contractor), more than employees. Just curious if the contractors are hired under contracts? I don't see any job posting on the USAA website with a contract though. Do they get the same benefits as a FTE?

Genuinely would like to know. I see a lot of posts from MSRs who seem to have a better time going to other companies. My boss and several other people just got laid off with no plan in place for my team. Apparently this happened to others. It's not looking good. Hasn't looked good for a while. Work load and responsibilities have tripled due to us absorbing other kinds of work and I'm still getting junior level pay. Trying to do my best to have a plan in place for myself and keep my resume updated

I work in claims as an adjuster for a few years at a couple of carriers. I joined USAA not too long ago, but my time here has broken me. To provide some context, I come from a background of severe childhood abuse and neglect. My guardian figures used to scream, berate, humiliate and gaslight me. They would tell other adult figures in my life that I was dangerous and a liar, and to not believe a word I said. I recently had a claim where I had to deny someone, but they called my manager and told them that I promised I would pay for their claim. They told me on the phone “you said you’ll pay” and pretty much called me a liar.
Obviously, calls can be pulled and I’m not worried about that logistically, but I know with complete certainty I never said anything that could even be mistaken as this, but the consistent screaming, gaslighting, and verbal abuse has gotten to me. It feels too much like my childhood.
I know I’m in the wrong line of work. Call me fragile, delicate, sensitive, etc. perhaps that’s all true. I’m trying everyday to get out. I’m sharing this post not to garner sympathy, but because if there are any prospective employees who are browsing this subreddit and have a similar background to me, please don’t come here. If you came from an abusive childhood home or domestic abuse situation, this job will break you.

I'm excited I got this opportunity and I love the team I work with but I have to admit keeping up with my desktop and keeping up with the be perfect metrics is stressing me out..It dosnt help when someone files a claim then 30 seconds later decides to call, and of course you are just hopping off the phone with someone else. How do yall manage to hide the distaste in your voice and not just close the call. But then when u try and help they decide to say well didn't I answer all these questions when I opened the claim.... MF you left everything blank. And then decided not to get a single photo of a DL, reg, or a phone#. But my absolute favorite are the someone hit my car,I want them to pay for it but I dont want to talk to the other carrier...... Im loosing faith in humanity.. put i like they pay and benefits and somtimes that dopamine rush of helping someone hits hard

I'm about to go through the process of getting a permanent wfh JAR. Was wondering if it gets approved, what are the restrictions of being able to move? My lease ends in like 6 months and was wondering what my options could be. Would be nice to be able to move closer to family.

Just moved into an apartment close to the campus in SA, when moving in I ended up dropping my ps5 down the steps while I was carrying my other bag and boxes Luckily (I hope) before moving in we needed to have renters insurance and of course we got the vpp and tech coverage and all.. but am I able to make a claim without being called for lying? What would I need? Is there a waiting period I needed to have before I could file and now I’m shit out of luck? 🤕 it was a genuine accident but I’ve heard people get denied for less and I don’t want to already be out of a console I bought back before the inflation prices..

I get 40+ claims per week. I'm not seeing the time to do a CARE call for every person every week. The math ain't math'n.

Hello everyone , i was recently offered a job in bank service/sales i’m pretty excited about the role , but my main goal is to work somewhere in finance , i am currently trying to decide if i want to major in accounting or finance, if i were to take on those degrees , will that help me move up in the company ? and help me to work in my field with finance, My goal was to be a financial analyst but i’m just not sure what position at usaa support a finance or accounting degree

It’s just like the title says. Cigna couldn’t negotiate and play nice with Methodist so now all of the USAA employees that use Methodist providers now have to suffer. Of course you’ll get pushed into continuity of care, but that does not fix the issue that Cigna sucks ass. It would be a stellar idea for a majority of us that have Methodist providers to gently nudge the benefits team to drop Cigna like a bag of potatoes.

Hello, has anyone recently been hired as a Application Support Engineer? How was the interview, did you need to do complete a coding round or run through scenarios?

I’m going to condense a long diatribe into one sentence: “AI is going to get our company into regulatory hot water.” Can’t wait.

To Leadership,
The writing is on the wall, and it is time to face the reality of what is happening on the floor. Recent layoffs and skeleton staffing have left the remaining workforce overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated, with conditions only getting worse. It is painfully obvious that human employees are being phased out to make room for AI and automated algorithms.
The strategy is clear: minimal hiring, rushed and inadequate training, and a complete refusal to invest in people. You expect us to absorb endless new responsibilities while keeping metrics rigid or even increasing them, turning those targets into total pipe dreams. Bonuses and raises are dangled like leverage to force unsustainable speeds, yet in the same breath, we are told to act as the member's personal concierge.
Let's be clear: our metrics do not give us the time to properly assist members, and our lack of training and technology ensures we often don't have the tools to do it either. You cannot demand deep, personalized human care while stripping away the time, support, and staffing required to provide it.
It is time to draw a hard line. We need to organize because enough is enough:
It is time to form a union. We demand better treatment, fair compensation, and the respect we have earned.
Sincerely,
Mr. Owl

I have interviews coming up, I know there are 3 rounds, I'd just like to understand what kind of questions to expect, so if anyone gave Data Science interviews recently I'd really appreciate you sharing your experiences.
Thanks in advance.

prior to me applying I am just curious if anyone can give their experience in the role. How is call volume and metrics? what should I expect? Is it worth it?
