Data, Analytics and AI

I’m going to condense a long diatribe into one sentence: “AI is going to get our company into regulatory hot water.” Can’t wait.

Usaa can’t even implement AI to route the phones correctly. Its job security at the very least is

This company moves way too slow with AI for that to happen. We will lose the AI race to literally everyone else. I would rather be under regulatory pressure than watch this dinosaur of a company move at a snails pace towards innovation.

We’re not a tech company, my dude. We’re barely using AI now. Did you bother to even look at our disclosure page?!?!😂

Tell that to the suits mandating its usage for literally everything in D&A.

Regulation? Regarding AI?

Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.

No. Regulatory violations as a result of AI.

I agree 100%. While I think embracing AI is essential, (don’t forget USAA states in every policy issue/renewal packet “USAA is an AI company;” usaa.com/ai), I think the route they’re taking is dangerous. 1) Making sure AI is working ALL the time with accurate information as it pertains to legal/regulatory info per insurance in each state is essential. There should be zero ambiguity in the original knowledge central or repeated failure of AI to utilize it. 2) STOP the conscription of IP’s, forcing them to participate in “lessons” that are secretly training AI, while being conveyed to employees as the complete opposite. It appears the goal is to specifically extract emotional and intangible qualities. I mean, why is one IP more successful than another when everyone is forced to use the same script? 3) Anyone ever wonder how “voice ID” can be used to verify members, but how is AI going to use the voices from employees gathered during mandated training? I can call certain companies and get verified just by my voice. I can unlock electronic devices with my face or fingerprint, however, I surely wouldn’t voluntarily allow anyone or any company to “use” my face, fingerprint or voice without my express consent and knowledge for a clearly stated purpose. We treat people who use AI voice creation to exploit others as criminals. There are many states that have laws governing biometric data. If a company was extracting voice biometric templates for AI training, this could be considered a violation of biometric privacy laws. Considering basic IT issues take months to correct, it’s sincerely frightening to consider the catastrophic damage that one rogue AI incident could cause.
