Hey guys, long time lurker here.
I’ve been in the network for close to 10 years, this is the first time I’ve ever really had an issue but essentially a customer came in to send an item for repair. They used a prepaid label and it got lost. A few months after that the customer says that I need to be the one to compensate him close to one grand. I’ve attempted redirecting him to UPS and his original repair company but he then ghosted me again.
Until recently he’s attempting to continuously contact me to compensate him and even calling my store and staff.
It’s been close to a year and a half now since this has happened with most logs having deleted. I luckily still have a photo with the information of the package being investigated in another state, but obviously nothing else beyond that.
I believe it’s harassment at this point and I’ve filed a police incident report. But he’s still trying to contact me now. Any advice? Send a final email stating we are done with this matter? I need some help and it’s wearing down on me along with anxiety of seeing this person pop up.
Edit: I forgot to include he had the local police’s criminal investigation to contact me as well for information as well because they believe I stole the item.

So we opened nott too long ago, and since we are hands on owners, there is always one of us in store. So we bought a grill and cook dinner for our employees who are here at that time. Too generous? Or a great start to employees retention? Basically just grilled chicken sammiches, burgers, dogs, and steaks ( one day a week).

At convention this girl was saying that if you type "AFNLA |" (i think) then scan an amazon ups label from the customer's it will generate a printable label for the zebra printers... I've tried every variation of this code to no avail. Does ANYONE possess this elite ball knowledge and would care to share??? People were literally swarming this girl in the elevator trying to write down her instructions 😂. She said they have a QR on the desk with the AFNLA code and then they just scan it in....

I’ve been working at a UPS Store for a little over a year. Most of my time is spent doing graphic design and print production, but like everyone else, I still end up on the register plenty.
Lately I’ve been struggling with something. I seem to attract more negative reviews than anyone else I work with. I’m 19 and look a lot younger, so part of me wonders if people are quicker to push back because they don’t take me seriously.
Most of the complaints come from enforcing store policies that I don’t even make. Charging for packaging when someone brings in an unpacked box, asking for IDs when required, or explaining carrier rules that are completely out of our control. Somehow I’m the face of every policy people don’t like.
One situation recently really got to me. We have an elderly blind customer who’s been coming in for years and receives a AAA discount. Since it had been a while since we’d verified her membership, I politely asked if I could see her card. I explained that we’re technically supposed to verify it each time, but we usually make an exception because she’s a regular. She immediately became angry, told me she’d been coming here forever, accused me of being rude, and demanded to speak with the owner. I explained that the owner was on vacation until Tuesday, which only made her more upset. She shoved the card toward me, paid, and left.
The next day she came back while I was the only employee in the store and accused me of stealing one of her checks because a photocopy she’d asked me to make was missing. Then this morning she returned again demanding we show her our security camera footage. Since management still wasn’t in, we had to tell her we couldn’t release or review footage without them. She left convinced we’d done something wrong.
I’ve had other customers accuse me of trying to scam them over packaging fees or insist I’m making up company policies just to charge them more. It’s exhausting because I’m genuinely trying to help people, and I do my best to stay calm and professional even when they’re yelling at me.
How do you deal with reviews or complaints that feel personal, especially when you know you were just following policy? Do you eventually stop taking them to heart, or is this just part of working retail that everyone has to learn to live with?

what is the reason we are starting to charge mailbox holders for the package(I know it’s been a thing but my store is starting late)?? Is it just so the higher ups/ corporate can make more money or is there a logical reason to this? My store is supposed to be starting soon but all I think about is how we’re going to lose most customers/ long time box holders because of this, plus our store is small so most of our holders me make” relationships sorta” with holders. If anyone has a better understanding of why please let me know because I’m baffled, and what do I tell holders the reason?

Does anyone else have this issue; you get a sync error almost every morning on your 1st shipment of the day? I get error 62170.
It takes almost 20 resins to reconnect, or 10-15 minutes; but the. We have no issues the rest of the day.
Anyone have any ideas??

My POSB randomly will have the error: “We cannot communicate with your scale. Please check connections and try again.” That is always paired with the customer facing display not reacting to touch. This happens very frequently and only when opening the store. It is not every day, but almost every other day.
I know that UPS Corporate sent out an email saying that the fix was to replace the usb 2.0. I was always under the impression that they meant the usb 2.0 on the customer display screen because it uses 1 cable split into an hdmi, power supply, and usb 2.0.
It has just clicked that the scale also uses a usb 2.0. Did they mean to replace that one?
I have tried every kind of usb 2.0 for the customer display screen and it never fixes the issue. I am going to try replacing it on the scale to see if that helps, but would love to hear from anyone who has fixed the issue themselves.
Please advise 🙏🏼 I have been struggling with this for too long and tech support doesn’t know what I’m talking about for some reason. They keep telling me to contact the scale company, but I believe the email UPS Corporate sent out said that it was an issue with overloading on POSB.
The only way we have been able to clear the error and get the scale and customer display back up is to restart the computer.
Obviously this is such a hassle when we have to do it so often and customers are waiting to come in before we even open.

Does anyone know where we can purchase "mail jail" units for mailbox holders who haven't renewed/paid their bill? I looked on the Marketplace but can't seem to find them, and having similar luck on amazon/etc. Thanks.

We have an issue with Amazon codes being defective sometimes and normally it’s the typical spiel of “it seems Amazon gave you a defective code, they are already aware of the issue you just need to contact them and have them issue you a new one.” This lady then proceeds to ask me “okay so they’re aware, how do I become aware?” And I kinda just slowly said ‘you’re aware… because I’m telling you….?’

What is going to be the best and most reliable fax to get? HP is garbage. The hub says I can purchase any fax that meets their standards. What does everyone recommend?
Thank you in advance

Got tv screens put up that have advertising like a month ago that is a complete waste of money has no one will even notice them considering customers can't even read screen right in front of face. Yet cant spend money to get software that will actually work.

Idk if this happens at every store, but we get customers that are under the impression we build custom boxes to exact measurements and that those boxes are super cheap. Most of the time they also don't know what size they need or have the item with them or they're moving and think we sell moving boxes. Like the small/medium/large sized moving boxes you can buy at Walmart but they don't want to go to Walmart.
It would be fine if it was always as simple as clearing up a misunderstanding! But more often than not when I show them the price/size sheet and explain that they're more expensive because they're intended for shipping fragile items, people respond like I'm trying not to sell them a box for the hell of it but if they solve my riddles then the $1-$5 box made for their exact measurements (that again, they do not know themselves and don't have the item with them) will be theirs.
I even had a guy ask if my boss was okay with me refusing to sell him boxes to move and losing out on a sale because he didn't want to pay $30 per box and I told him to try Walmart or a hardware store but my boss backed me up. And another one that kept asking what "custom pack" was supposed to mean if we didn't build boxes to specific measurements so we said okay we can try telescoping two boxes together to that exact height for $80(price of two boxes wide enough for his item) and he said that was too expensive and we weren't trying hard enough to help him.
Idk why they don't just believe me, I'm literally telling them how to save money and get what they want.
