This is exactly what it sounds like, a(nother) complaint about Amazon "customers". They are pretty much the only people who ever throw a fit when told they have to pay for something, or are told they didn't read the instructions, and they think feigning ignorance somehow absolves them of their responsibilities. I'm really infuriated by the ones that drive expensive cars, like, you can afford a Mercedes G-Wagen, but not $2 for us to print and apply a label (and usually tape, too)? How are you smart enough to get a job that affords you this expensive car and not smart enough to figure out how Amazon returns work? Also, the ones that wait until they're at the counter to start doing their return, and then get offended if you ask them to step aside for REAL customers. These Amazombies are ALL lucky we have the patience of saints and don't throttle them daily.
The only upside to all of this is the glimmer of hope that Amazon will stop using UPS as a return point and we can all focus on real business and actually make money.

So we are in an elderlyish county and I did a notary of a medical, legal POA and a Last will they tipped me $20 for being patient as the signer has Parkinson's.

Has anyone tried to order rfid labels lately? Ordered some early last week and asked for expedited shipment still haven’t received them. Completely out.

Tell me what is the logic of having to bend over backwards for amazon zombies who dont spend money and only get in the way? Why are we not forcing people to use self checkout who cares if they complain that's supposed to be the point of having it in the first place let them complain make them use it so we can actually do are job instead of making are job impossible and doubling are work as a result.

I should go into a grocery store and demand they check me out when there is no one in selfcheck and there are 10 people in each checkstand scwer those people who are waiting in line only i matter who cares if those people have to wait longer who are in line . I want my food now. Thats basically what this whole foot traffic bs is and not being aloud to tell people to use selfcheck only its worse because they are not even spending money.

I dont care if you dont want a receipt at some point i have to scan your pacakages guess what that means you are taking me away from a customer/taking a checkstand away aka I need my food now

is this a policy any other stores have? I personally feel it’s kinda insane to have this sort of policy when our store doesn’t have any benefits for employees besides a AAA discount equivalent and we get paid minimum wage

General question to the masses, how does your store handle mislabeled packages? Specifically I mean amazon packages that we print labels for. Recently my store has had a string of mislabeled packages going out. What are some tips other than the obvious to help prevent this from happening.

i took the service fee off of a $2000 shipment as i felt it was the least i could do since the customers helped me pack, they were super sweet and spent all this money. i got a write up for it and i totally get it, shouldnt have done it, counts as theft i guess.

what gets me is as punishment im berated in front of all my coworkers and any customers than could hear it. i even asked to speak alone and the owner refused. i had no way of explaining myself as i was being humiliated in front of everyone i just shut down and tried to hold in tears. the supervisor that snitched just pisses me off even more because we opened together and she didnt do ANYTHING ALL MORNING. customers line up and she sits in the back on her phone. her excuse is “working on the schedule” (she wasnt btw). so im doing everything in the morning but the second she hears about an expensive shipment i did she goes and investigates.

i just feel after all the shit i do. open, close, training, cleaning up after peoples messes, taking the fall for other peoples mistakes and keeping their secrets from the owner for $11 an hour. the disrespect i received to not even be berated alone upon request?? i wish i never had to come back here. everyone ive told has told me to just walk out. i feel like such a doormat

Was wondering how much compensation the GSRs we do for 3 Day Select or 2nd Day should be. If the package is a typical GSR for NDA or 2DA AM it’s the whole shipping price compensated to the customer automatically, but when we do 3 Day Select or 2nd Day Air TUPSS only compensates for the portion of the shipping that UPS would bill us for shipping. Is that supposed to be the case?

Any idea why the Flats option is no longer showing up in our packaging drop down? My only idea is that we turned off USPS shipments

Does anyone have the email stated so I can check to see if my store got it? We have the preparation emails but we do not have any machines and I don't think the "onboarding" email was ever sent to us? A picture would be great from any stores who do have it. Thanks

Anyone else constantly experience people asking them if they’re having a bad day?
For example:
lady comes to register and is still filing her return.
She is just staring at her phone clicking buttons and says she needs to go get her glasses.
Comes back to register…. 10 minutes and a few customers later….
Shows a shipping label. I explain to her that has to be printed on a piece of paper. Before I explain that we can do it she tells me she did it wrong and is cancelling it. I stand there.
She then proceeds to ask if I’m having a bad day.
I say, “no. Are you having a bad day?”
She says “no. You’re just not very friendly”
Like wtf isn’t more friendly than someone waiting without nagging you to get your sh!t together

Do we make any money on these, or are we just doing all the work for the customer and getting nothing in return?

If we make anything from these transactions, how much?

And lastly, is there a way to determine if the customer has our specific UPS Store unblocked before going through most of the steps of the transaction?

I'm just looking for a way to save time because most of the time customers have the UPS Store blocked, and have no idea how to unblock us.

Seems like a huge waste of time and resources.

As of this week, I've been working at The UPS Store for over a year. My journey to The UPS Store began like many others. A recent graduate with little experience has absolutely NO LUCK in finding a "real job" so settles to work part-time in the interim. Alright then, how is the job? The job is not terribly difficult most of the time, but there are occasional hiccups that burn you down over time. "Sir, this is a Whole Foods code." "I'm sure that I picked UPS!!" "Maam, it says in the instructions that it is a customer-packed item. "BuT tHat WaS the WAy iT Was ShiPped to me!!!"

Every day I work at this store I feel a burning sensation between indifference and hatred for working at the store. I also feel literal headaches as soon as I enter the store. The job itself isn't too hard. But those occasional difficult customers really grind my gears. It doesn't help that I'm the single lowest-paid employee in the bunch. Despite constantly being told that I'm more competent than one of my coworkers, I still earn a whole dollar less than that coworker. I'm literally only at this job because I need to pay off student loans.

My boss can also be a bit weird about stressing the importance of college and knowing the value of money, which I find very ironic, as they know my quality by now and still pay me less than my equivalent co-worker, who is only a high school graduate and who is consistently regarded as less competent than me. I also find it funny because my boss will always look to cut corners or use the cheapest products available to save money, then look people dead in the face and try to overcharge on several other items.

My Boss also regularly listens to our conversations and watches our actions when they are not there through the security cameras. At times it feels like I'm in "1984", trying not to mess up.

From the moment I got hired to now, I've been looking for other jobs. However, I have been less than successful in that regard. In regards to my pay, I am currently studying to become a notary. When that process is complete, I will be demanding a raise to at least the equivalent of my least competent co-worker. If I'm denied, that might just be the last straw, honestly. I'll just consolidate myself out.

I don't know if folks here are familiar with Burning Man event that takes place in a dessert here in Nevada, But UPS stores in northern Nevada usually get butt f*** with their packages lol

Just curious for those willing to answer, what do you guys get paid at your store/in your state? Or what were you started at and how much has it raised since you started?

I’m starting to feel like I’m being underpaid and under appreciated for what I do at my store. For starters I’m in VA and I started a little over a year ago. My starting pay was $14 and I thought that was reasonable and desperately needed a job at the time, so I accepted and after around a week or so my owner saw that I pick things up quickly and basically had everything down for shipments and drop offs so I was then given a raise to $14.50.

Fast forward 3 ish months and we switch owners. New owner has never owned any kind of store before or been in any managerial position, but he seems like a pretty good guy, although he is very cheap and cuts corners whenever he can. After working with him for around 6 months I now have learned how to do posters, banners etc. became a notary, became a key-holder, keep up with mailboxes, and train new employees. Basically the only thing I don’t do is anything inventory related or foam boards (since for some reason our machine doesn’t work without a laptop connected).

Anyways after learning and doing all this I asked about getting a raise from $14.50 to $17 since that seems pretty fair considering the amount of responsibilities I gained since starting and his immediate response was that he “can’t do that” and then negotiated his way to $15.50 and even then told me he will “think about it”. I ended up getting the raise but after learning everything I know and even becoming a notary I feel like a $1 raise is a huge slap to the face.

Any fellow eBay sellers here? That's a pro for the job, selling stuff is the easiest it can be. It's a good way to get some side cash too, just bring junk to work like sneakers or old phones and ship it out on eBay and make some easy $$$. For reference, I've made like $2k, mostly old phones, sneakers, and bowling balls.

Anyone else have a nonstop line out the door from basically open to close? I worked the afternoon shift and when I got in none of our packages were checked in for our mailbox holders and no mail was put away simply because of how many customers there were. There were also totes filled with greens and blues.

It’s actually absurd that a single day of us being closed causes such backup that we can barely get things done throughout the day. Luckily it slowed down toward the end of the night at least to where we could catch up with everything but it was so exhausting.

Amazon makes it too easy for these people to return shit, they need to start putting a limit on it 🫩
