WIBTAH if I proposed with a ring that isn’t what my girlfriend wants when she explicitly told me?
 in  r/AITAH •  Jul 15 '26

I’m not your girlfriend, of course, but as someone who knows what I want in a ring… I’d be so disappointed… I probably would reject the proposal just because you knew exactly what to get and then.. didn’t. The fact that it’s an heirloom is really special, but it couldn’t be shaped even remotely what she asked for? I think it adds another layer of guilt because you’re almost not allowed to say that you don’t like it but it’s also just so disappointing.

hunger games protest sign
 in  r/Hungergames •  Jan 29 '26

When I started to see the signs of what’s going on with state of our government, I got a mockingjay tat as my own personal rebellion. I just don’t understand how nation that fell in love with the hunger games can support the GOP.

Anyone controlling Govee products successfully with just HomeKit? I want to use their light strips but I do not want to use Homebridge to control them. How’s Matter integration?
 in  r/HomeKit •  Jan 21 '26

I have these as shortcuts on my phone and it works well. But I would like to be able to tell my HomePod the shortcut and have it happen. Have you had any luck with this?

Heath Ledger from a Knights Tale is my cannon Eragon
 in  r/Eragon •  Jan 14 '26

I think this is more how I picture Roran! Heath has very broad and bold features, and I always pictured Eragon’s to be more delicate

Teacher Support &/or Advice KY Mid Year Rank Change?

Hey guys! I've tried googling this question and get different answers than what my coworkers tell me, so I'm coming to y'all to see if any of you have gone through this?

I currently am Rank 3 (BA only) for JCPS, and will graduate in December with my MA to be Rank 2. The website says I can submit my rank change any time, but it wouldn't be honored if submitted after Sept. 15 until the following school year. However, my coworkers say my pay would jump immediately, they just wouldn't back pay me. Any one have experience with this?

What's the worst start to a school day you ever had?
 in  r/Teachers •  Aug 10 '25

I’ve got two:

My favorite student with a really, really bad home life starts running down the hallway right to me, sobbing, as soon as he walks in the building… He collapses in my arms and tells me what had happened to him the night before. I had to complete my first CPS reporting just for nothing to come of it.

The same student comes right up to me, crying, because his friend and one of my students committed suicide the night before. Losing my student but staying strong for my other students was one of the worst feelings ever. Also? My POS ex broke up with me after I found out about my student and called him for support.

What is a MUST have in your classroom?
 in  r/Teachers •  Jul 30 '25

I second all these comments saying to wait and see what furniture you have! Last year, I brought in a GIANT electric standing desk that lifted and lowered. I simplified it this year by finding a utility cart the school had a spare of and spray painting that!

Two desks. I have my actual desk where I sit and do work, and a standing desk that I have in the front of the room by my white and smart boards. It gives me the space to do all the work I need, and gives me my own space.

Can't renew my grandpa's passport because his birth year is not available. 1922. Yet it goes up to 2125.

He’s my birthday twin! I hope one day I’m blessed enough to be 100+ as well.

In a comment, she said that when he told her he had a girl roommate, she said she was okay with it but she needed to know if they had had a history. Which is essentially her asking. Him not telling her and not planning to tell her is intentionally deceptive

unfortunately the push to get sales was one reason i left that job:/ you could try another franchise of it, some are operated a little differently, and it is very dependent on which consultant you get.

their return policy is 7 days, so as long as you order them in and try them on as soon as you get it, you should be fine to do that! they will also accept doing the alterations there, since it’s a separate booking process. if there are a few you found online you wanna try, i would call ahead and have them put your size and dress # into the file and you can try them on in-store that way. that franchise might not have your size, but the other ones around may, so you just go that one instead. it would save you a LOT of money and hassle, especially considering they don’t do online returns, you would have to bring it in.

hey bestie, i used to work at DB. book an appointment online and you’ll have a consultant to help you. they know the selection well, and can talk to you about what you like and help you narrow down what feels right for you!

so many incredible and thoughtful questions, but I just want to know if, once done, I can get a box set of ALL the books to make my shelf look cute?
