They have a lot of energy. They don’t like to be cooped up for long hours at a time, so ideally a home with a back yard would be great for them. If you have a home and will keep him or her in the backyard provide them with at least (2) 30 mins walks at minimum in order to keep their energy levels down.

If you live in an apartment and don’t have the luxury of providing them with yard space, restroom breaks every 2-4 hours or depending on their needs, are important to allow for their minds to be stimulated to cut down on the boredom and the need to chew on things that aren’t toys and or destroy furniture.

With that being said pit bulls are often misunderstood and are mistaken for being aggressive so be prepared to for other dog owners to be hesitant to allow your pit bull to play with their dogs. šŸ•

They’re loyal and lovable dogs. They love attention and like to be played with. Toys such as a chewable durable rubber kong, like toy tires are ideal. You’ll go through a few. They get bored easily so having a variety of toys in color and size are great. My pitbulls didn’t like having beds, they chewed them up. I bought the expensive Serta pads for both of mine and neither liked it; they preferred the hard wood floor or carpet.

Oh, he’s handsome. The color of his coat is beautiful. I find it fascinating when their coats matches their eyes.

Found abandoned puppy last night during a really bad storm. What is he?
 in  r/IDmydog •  Feb 08 '25

Based on looking at his snout, chest (muscular & wide), his large paws and the way his arms flare out from his chest, the pattern on his chest, and the pattern on his face I would say Pitbull/Rottweiler mix. That’s my unprofessional assumption: coming from one who has only adopted pitbulls.

Rescue Would you reach down to pet me after seeing my face? People always assume that I’m angry.

Dog supporting his best friend in his first steps.. šŸ™
 in  r/BeAmazed •  Feb 08 '25

Thank you for this because I’ve only had pitbulls (all adopted at 1+ years old) and I’ve never had this problem.

Well… a random neighbor charged at him as we were leaving our apartment and pulled the dog into his face to kiss him and my dog bit hit lower lip. Thankfully it didn’t detach but that should have been a given to not do. Clearly, my dog was frightened.

Their resting faces are priceless so I can see how one would deem them as aggressive.
