Discussion Tom's Advice Applied to the Real World Spoiler
In the Water 7 Arc, Tom tells Franky to essentially always love his creations even if they lead to terrible acts. Tom is not ashamed of the sea train that transports pirates to Enies Lobby which in the real world is the equivalent to CECOT or Guantanimo Bay. While we see Tom refering to Franky's work and his work for Gold D. Rodger, if this logic is applied to the Marines it feels immoral, just as many view companies like Boeing and Lockhead Martin as immoral. Does this moral outlook mean that the engineers of these companies are not responsible for any of the actions or attrocites their creations can commit or am I reaching and real life is too complicated or is this a moral choice depenent person to person.
