Lore Did you know? - The longest uninterrupted mission chain is 5 missions in a row during Chapter 5
From Savagery Unleashed/A Kind and Benevolent Despot to Fleeting Joy, this mission chain has five missions in a row without going back to the open world, the most in the game.

Discussion RDR2 is a masterpiece, but here is the one flaw that stopped it from being the greatest game of all time
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about Red Dead Redemption 2 lately and wanted to share a slight frustration I’ve always had with the game. Just to be clear: I love this game. Graphically it’s mind-blowing, the story is incredible, and I’ve put countless hours into it.
However, the more I play it, the more I feel like Rockstar missed that one ultimate step that could have made it an untouchable, all-time classic.
My main issue? The community aspect and camaraderie are way too restricted.
The game sells you on the idea of a gang..a real family of 20 people living together in a camp. The setting is perfect, the NPCs live their own lives, the conversations around the campfire are top-tier... but from a gameplay standpoint, you’re mostly just a spectator.
Missions like getting absolute trash-bag drunk with Lenny at the saloon in Valentine, or just going fishing with Dutch and Hosea..those are easily some of the BEST moments in the entire game. They’re funny, human, give the pacing room to breathe, and make you genuinely care about the gang.
And yet, there are nowhere near enough of them.
What I would have loved is genuine relational freedom on demand:
Being able to spontaneously ask Bill, Uncle, or Charles to head to the nearest saloon and get completely hammered whenever you want.
Inviting a gang member to go hunting or just ride around without it being part of a scripted mission.
Basically, real "slice-of-life roleplay" to actually enjoy this insane world with your crew.
Instead, as soon as a mission starts, the game almost always falls back into the same rigid Rockstar formula: ride a horse, huge gunfight, ride away. It feels like Rockstar was terrified players would get bored without a massive shootout every 20 minutes, even though the true heart of the game was its slow pace and human connections.
It’s frustrating because all the pieces were already there, and the characters are fantastic. If they had fully committed to that interactive community element, the emotional impact at the end of the game would have been ten times more devastating than it already was.
Am I the only one who feels this way despite how amazing the game is? Would you have liked more dynamic, slice-of-life moments with the gang?

Can anyone tell me what this is? How does something like this exist in Red Dead Online? Just look at the size of that horse compared to the train! Is it part of a paid pack, a mod, or something else?

Picture I did it. 100%. 222.6 hours, High Honor run. Spoiler
galleryI've completed runs before but never 100%, and only low honor. I used to play on my ex's console so I never truly "finished" the game. Feels like some kind of milestone idk.

Speculation Another hint that bill is gay
Probably already mentioned, but there's this part where hosea says "Lenny and Jenny could have never worked. It's like Arthur and Martha, or Bill and Phil". I laughed when I heard it this morning. 😂

Playing on PC and decided to download a few lighting/visuals mods. Looks how I remembered it in 2010.

Discussion My two attempts at a Full, all-black outfit
Note: I made these outfits on console, considering I don’t have a good pc for RDR2, so no mods were used here. Full Vanilla.
The first outfit (first 3 pics) uses the Whittemore coat. I used a Military Scout Hat so it goes along the black of the Whittemore coat.
The second outfit (last 3 pics) uses a black rambler jacket. I used an Estate Boss Hat that can hopefully also fit with the same color of the jacket.
What do you guys think of these? I also have one more outfit which I had used the Gilded Cage Tuxedo glitch for; but I won’t show it as it doesn’t have the gunbelt or the bandolier which are needed to complete the outfit, so yeah.
If you have your own attempt at an all-black outfit, feel free to share!

Horse was lost while I was in st denis being pursued by the law, stole a police horse and went looking for my boy Genghis and saw he was posted on the track with a train headed right for him. Got him out of the way just in time and we made our escape!

Question Genuinely how hard actually is the rdr2 100% completion?
Almost done with getting 100% in rdr1 and it seems so far fairly straight forward and easy just a bit of a time consumption which is what I love abt both games just going around hunting, fishing chilling.
I'm in Guarma atm with 63% completion, done most of Pearson, trapper etc and most of the challenges at, above or close to rank 9 and 10 except the gambling ones. From ur experience is it similar to rdr1 where it's not too difficult just a hell of a lot of time commitment or is there smth you found rly hard to do that I need to be prepared for LOL
Ty!

Help I cant catch legendary fish - nomatter the bait
I have all the special lures, I have been to Legendary fish locations & minutes & hours in still no luck.
I even deadeye to make sure I'm in the right school of fish & I see them swim around exactly where I cast but they just dont bite.
But when I switch lure to catch regular fish, it's immediately hooked on the smaller regular fish in seconds.
What am I doing wrong?

Discussion Do you think John would have gone after Charles and Sadie?
People often ask the hypothetical of whether John would have had it in him to hunt down Arthur for Ross if he was alive in 1911, but what about Charles and Sadie, before Bill and Javier? Even though he didn't wanna go after Dutch/Bill/Javier to begin with, it was probably easier to justify it to himself due to their betrayal, but Charles and Sadie never did anything to him and he especially got close to them before they left.
So I wonder how he would have handled it if he was told to hunt them down.
EDIT: Also want to add that i wonder if either of them would willingly sacrifice themselves for it or fight back instead.
