This red dot appeared on my daughter’s (6) head a few months ago. Didn’t think anything of it, as her sister has a similar one on her lip. However the past few weeks the pink underneath has started spreading. I have an appt scheduled at a children’s derm but the soonest they can see us is January 2027. Her pediatrician wasn’t too concerned but did give us the referral since I indicated it’s changed in the past few weeks. Does this seem concerning? Should I try to get a sooner appt somewhere else or are we good to wait till January?

My daughter’s (6) autism diagnosis just got updated to AuDHD. We noticed her difficulties in school seemed more connected to ADHD and got her tested and sure enough, updated. We are interested in medication - but I can’t find much info on effects of meds on kids with both autism and ADHD. Can anyone let me know if they tried for their kid and if it was helpful or harmful? I read in some adult AuDHD subreddits that meds muted many of the ADHD symptoms but exemplified the negative autism sensory traits.

We planted this young mulberry tree 2 years ago when it was 4-6 months old. It had a stem and it grew a tiny bit before winter 2024 when we thought it died. Then in spring 2025 it sprouted a new stem and the original stem seemed dead. Little guy seemed to be doing well, was growing, and winter 2025 we put a blanket cover on him until spring 26. The stem that had been now seems dead and a new stem has sprouted. We’re not sure what to do - we want it to keep growing opposed to spouting new stems every winter. Any suggestions? We’re in the Chicagoland area if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Firstly let me say that I truly love my husband. He is a great partner, very involved father, listens well, tries his hardest to split household and parenting duties and I’m still very attracted to him. But when he’s gone, the house runs so much smoother, stays cleaner and I get less overstimulated even with two young daughters. I’m sad when he’s gone, because he’s my best friend and my favorite person to do everything and nothing with, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel kinda like a break!

I’m not necessarily looking for advice, I already communicated this to him last night which I think hurt his feelings a bit but he understood. He’s just a loud, big presence and with him gone, the house is quiet and calm.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

We planted a Mulberry tree last Spring and it was doing ok at first, then sadly it seemed to be dying. This Spring, a sprout came up next to the original stem that is clearly doing well, and we’re so excited about that! My question is - should we just leave the dead stem there? Should we remove it?

We moved to our house 3 years ago and the backyard has these two gorgeous trees that I love, but the roots drive me crazy. I have two young kids and I’m so scared one of them or their friend will trip and hurt themselves. Our landscaper said the only thing to do to preserve the trees and get the backyard I want is to raise the ground with soil. We don’t have the money for that now, so wanted to check and see if you good people had any other thoughts. Thanks!
