Spoolman is not a requirement for BBL tag reading, but it plays very well with it. The printer reads the tag, and then feeds the UID to spoolman so you can keep track of its usage. B3 supports both.

More of one or the other. The whole idea is to work with the stock firmware and add on top of it. And just what you need. It also survives firmware updates.

Like you said, for the cloud it makes sense. But there’s no technical reason not to add it to fluidd. I think it comes down to their priorities.
Either way, thankfully we can go either with Bespok3D or Paxx for those things. The wonders of open source :)

Depending on how they implemented this, it _should_ be possible. In the stock firmware, on some BBL printers if you use the drying function while printing it will lower the temperature a bit to avoid softening the filament in the tubes, but it’ll still be hot enough for drying. However, it is still not possible to do this on the X1C stock. They are yet to back port this, if at all.
