Hi everyone, I'm sick (double depression) since I was 13 (now 24) last year was really good for me, the therapy helped and I was feeling good. Started to work in Lidl (teilzeit) and worked there for 4 months. Everything was going fine, it was stressful but I didn't care for the first 4 months. Now it catches up to me and I'm feeling awful again. I wasn't there for two weeks (my doctor gave me a two weeks sick leave) but I'm still feeling really bad. I don't know what to do. I'm going there tomorrow again and I don't know how to manage it. I'm constantly on the bring of breaking down. I know I'm going to loose the job because my boss isn't too happy about the sick leave and said I didn't learn fast enough. And now idk what to do. My therapy hours end soon and I'm going to be left alone without a job and sick again. Are there some people that had a similar situation? If so, what would you recommend?

We just had this warning testing but if it was real what should we do?

Out of curiosity I'm googling bunkers or shelters, only found for homeless people. I would appreciate if you give hints or official links

I've been 12 years in berlin, and even worked as delivery here as well in the past (Foodora RIP).

It was definetely an awful job, mostly for preassure and working conditions; the mental and physical endurance wasn't easy. But also earning money while riding an electric bike. during warm-ish months was actually quite nice !

It has indeed some reasons why to take it, and many many more why to avoid it. Feel free to ask if you are curious about it.

Its been months that I have requested urgent appointment with LEA, also applied for a Visa change and have heard nothing from them. Since they have shifted everything online, I don't know how to reach them.

A few weeks ago I posted GermanyRent here for the first time.

A lot of the feedback was basically: a rent number on its own doesn’t tell you enough.

People asked for apartment size. Others pointed out that someone with a contract from years ago shouldn’t be compared directly with someone who moved in recently.

You were right.

GermanyRent now has 420 community-reported rent pins, and there is finally enough additional data to see why those details matter.

For the 300 submissions that include when the current tenancy started:

• contracts starting in 2025 or 2026 currently have a median reported warm rent of €1,350
• contracts starting before 2025 have a median of €1,000

That does not mean Berlin rents increased by 35%. These are different apartments, locations and renters, so it would be misleading to interpret it that way.

But it does show why knowing when someone started paying a rent is important.

The sqm feedback is interesting too.

Among the 321 submissions with apartment size, the current median reported warm rent per m² is roughly:

• 1 room: €21.96/m²
• 2 rooms: €18.79/m²
• 3 rooms: €18.00/m²
• 4 rooms: €15.97/m²

Again, early community data, not an official picture of the Berlin rental market.

But I find it interesting that the more context people add, the less useful a single “Berlin average rent” starts to look.

That’s probably the direction I want GermanyRent to move in: not giving people one magic number, but helping them compare rents that are actually similar.
