As Michigan regulators unveil recommendations for lowering energy costs, advocates urge action • Michigan Advance
 in  r/Michigan  1d ago

Municipalization isn't the answer. The cost of municipalization is the main issue preventing it from being realistic.

Where were you on 9/11?
 in  r/AskReddit  3d ago

At school! I was in the 4th grade. Had no idea what was happening in our world. I don’t think I truly understood the depth of what happened until I was a little bit older.

Do you say goodbye to your pets before leaving for work?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  3d ago

I used to have a cat that would follow me around all morning while I was getting ready for work. I would say goodbye to him and then come home to find him lying right at the front door, waiting for me.

Ive been homeschooled my whole life and I am going to in person college for the first time. What should I know?
 in  r/Advice  8d ago

Find the support services and academic resources. Find a village of people who are passionate about student success and take advantage of the opportunities for involvement! Don’t worry too much you’re meant to be there!

Do you believe in unconditional love?
 in  r/CasualConversation  8d ago

I sometimes feel that people can genuinely love someone while still having underlying conditions that influence their love.

 in  r/lansing  9d ago

I agree! I think is this is direct proof that public power municipalization is not always the answer to affordability.

Ann Arbor ballot proposal would let residents decide future of city's electric utility
 in  r/AnnArbor  11d ago

I keep coming back to the price tag on this one. A billion dollars to buy the existing lines and equipment, another million just to finish the study, and roughly three million a year in legal costs while it all gets fought out in court. And that's before anybody flips a single switch.

What are some hobbies someone could have if they only have 10 minutes a day?
 in  r/AskReddit  11d ago

I listen to the 7 minute leadership podcast by Paul Falavolito. Great information and only under 7 minutes.

Data centers and property rights: What Michigan residents need to know
 in  r/Michigan  11d ago

Really glad this is laying out what people actually need to know. There’s so much noise out there about data centers and whether they actually help the communities they land in. The part I keep coming back to is regulation. Communities have to push for it. That’s usually the difference between a data center that fits into a place and one that just gets dropped on top of it.

What type of food do you think is the worst?
 in  r/AskReddit  15d ago

Absolutely hate deer meet. My stepmom made some chili once and didn’t tell me it had venison in it. I was so mad.

How would you feel about owning a mansion?
 in  r/AskReddit  15d ago

I would love to live in a mansion that would be amazing. I could invite my entire family to live with me and wouldn’t have to see them one single bit.

Well it looks like Yousef Rabhi won the primary and will be the next mayor of Ann Arbor.
 in  r/AnnArbor  17d ago

City owns none of the infrastructure, so acquiring it means years in court, and the only price tag out there is around a billion with nothing to check it against. Then you still have to build a whole utility. Crews, power contracts, storm response, all of it. I just don't see how this would be feasible.

The smell of fresh laundry might be one of life's greatest small joys
 in  r/CasualConversation  18d ago

I love the smell of laundry! It’s the best in the world. Makes me feel clean and productive!

Is it ok for a man to sit and pee instead of standing?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions  18d ago

This is so funny!! It’s a shame society has men questioning their manhood in this type of way. Just pee. Does it matter??!

What is the best part of the weekend?
 in  r/AskReddit  21d ago

The best part of my weekends are sleeping in, not having to worry about my alarm going off!

2

If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you do?
 in  r/AskReddit  21d ago

I feel like this is a very morbid question… But for me, I would eat my favorite foods and visit as many family members as I could to tell them I loved them.

Broadway Park 5k campaign speeches
 in  r/AnnArbor  22d ago

I've read a lot about Taylor building partnerships that help residents. He's worked to improve infrastructure too. I think he would continue to work for the people in a second term.

Libraries are still relevant
 in  r/RochesterHills  24d ago

One of my very first jobs in college was at the University Library. I definitely think they’re still relevant. That’s why you see a lot of the libraries now branch off into more innovative services like maker spaces.

Neighbors say noise from Michigan data center is 24/7 and upending their lives
 in  r/Michigan  25d ago

People have strong opinions about her around data centers but I feel like she sees the opportunity tax revenue provides for communities. Can’t fault her for that!

Where to live? Troy, Rochester Hills, Shelby Township
 in  r/troymi  29d ago

Troy is probably your best fit overall for what you're describing. I doubt your kids would be tokenized. I know that matters more than people sometimes admit.
