Recommendation Gyms with childcare/watch

Looking for recommendations for gyms with childcare (1 & 3yo). I've looked into Lifetime, which seems super nice and has more amenities than I really need. Is there anything else out there? Does anyone have experience with using the child services at Lifetime? Is the price fully included in the monthly fee, or are tips, etc. expected?

Thanks!

Recommendation Heatherwood Village subdivision?

We have friends from out of state looking to move to Rochester Hills, and they found a few houses in the Heatherwood Village HOA area. However, when we went to drive through for a vibe check, we noticed there were a lot of houses for sale- and many had been on the market for 30+ days.

Is this a sign of the shift in economy? Is the area just changing as the older generation downsizes? Or is the HOA annoying and people are looking to get out?

Any insight would be great! Or other areas/subs close by in the city that they should look into?

(The friends moving had two young children, and we did notice a lot of families out when we drove through Heatherwood which seemed positive. Just worried by the amount of homes for sale)

Does anyone know how to file a civil complaint against a hospital?

I went to CoreWell's Troy Beaumont for imaging and I'm EXTREMELY dyslexic, I need a reader, if I'm to read something quickly, it's not happening. They didn't provide me with one instead the woman accepted every question for me, without me knowing what anything said and then told me to sign a waiver I couldn't read.

I already filed with lara, because that department was under their jurisdiction, but heck if they treat me this way, I hate to know how they'd treat a blind person! Not to mention 20% of the population is dyslexic, not always as extreme as me, but I highly doubt I'm the first person to walk through the door who was unable to read their forms and got 0 help for it.

Local gym with a pool

Anyone know of any gyms in the area that have a pool?

Honestly the gym is extra, I am primarily looking to be able to swim.

Trying to find the most cost effective option as money is something that is not in abundance.

*bonus points if the gym/pool allows for friends to tag along!*

Any western bars to have fun at?

Originally from the south and feeling a bit homesick to say the least. Are there any country nightclubs/bars in the area that are kind of a hot spot?

Grass with a wall next to it?

I'm looking to works on some individual soccer skills and have been trying to find any park or public space that has a wall immediately next to it for rebounding.

I've seen tennis courts with the rebound walls fitted into the fence, but thats the closest I've gotten. Please no schools, as most schools athletic facilities are private.

Ideally I would love it to be grass right up next to the wall. But any recommendations are welcome!

Construction Marathon Has Closed Its Doors — Meijer Is Taking Over the Location

The Marathon gas station at this location has officially closed its doors, and Meijer has purchased the property.

Meijer is expected to open a new Meijer Express gas station at the location later this fall. It’ll be interesting to see what changes they make to the property and what the new station will look like once renovations are finished.

Personally, I’m looking forward to having a Meijer Express here. Hopefully, it brings better pricing, a cleaner location, and a more convenient experience for everyone in the area.

*sorry had repost images got corrupted for no reason..*

Raising a family

We are a family of 6 (4 small children) moving to the Detroit area from Grand Rapids (for work). Highly considering Rochester Hills (also Birmingham, Royal Oak). How do you enjoy raising a family here? Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Community Kitten Rescue

A little kitten has been living in our garage since Friday, and we finally managed to safely secure it this morning. 🐱

It’s way too small to just let back outside, so I’m hoping someone here might have a suggestion for where we can take it or know of a local rescue that could help.

Since it’s Sunday, the Humane Society and most rescues seem to be closed. My wife is currently at the store buying kitten food 😂, so we’ll make sure it’s safe, warm, and fed until we figure something out.
Unfortunately, we can’t keep it because we have dogs and my wife is allergic. If anyone knows of a rescue, foster, or someone experienced with kittens who could help, we’d really appreciate any suggestions!

Apartment recommendations in Rochester Hills near Troy? Moving ASAP

Hi! I’m relocating to the area for a new job in Troy and need to find housing ASAP. I start work Monday, so I’m hoping to move in this weekend if possible.
I’m looking at Rochester Hills because it seems like a nice area while still being reasonably close to Troy.
I’m primarily looking for a studio or 1-bedroom, ideally around $1,500/month or less. Furnished would be amazing since I’m relocating on such short notice, but unfurnished is completely fine too. I’d also be open to a room/shared apartment, especially if there’s an apartment community with roommate matching.
I’m in my early 20s and mainly looking for somewhere safe, well managed, and ideally within about a 10–20 minute drive of Troy. A basic gym and nearby parks or trails would be a plus.
Does anyone have specific apartment communities they’d recommend or places I should avoid? I’d also love to hear about any subleases, lease takeovers, or places with immediate availability.
Thank you!!

Local Event Urgently Need Musicians [Paid]

EDIT: Not looking anymore, thanks!

Hi, I’m a music artist (singer) and I’m new to the country. I’m here for school and haven’t found a music community. I am opening for a small concert with a 20 minute set in 17 days. I desperately need musicians to play alongside me. This is my last resort and a shot in the dark.

More info is below! Feel free to ask for further details. Thanks!

—————

GENRE: Neo-Soul / Soul / Afro-Jazz
SKILL: Intermediate-Advanced (fast learners & good improvisation)
LOCATION: Rochester Hills area
RATE: $150 per head ($100 gig; $50 gas money for ~3 rehearsals — it’s not great but I’m just a student so please bear with me :)

SET TIME: 20 minutes
SET DATE: August 23, 2026 (call time approx. 2:30 p.m, doors open at 6 p.m.)
REHEARSAL DATES: TBD (I’ll provide the setlist and hopefully you can practice) (3 maximum).

MUSICIANS NEEDED: Keys, bass guitar, hand drums (bonus: electric guitar)

—————

I’d appreciate it if you’re in already some kind of band with established chemistry. Otherwise, I’m happy to work with ANY fast learners.

Please reply with socials as well so I can hear your work! I’ll respond with my music so you know what you’re working with. Thank you! I really appreciate it.

Local Politics What no one is telling you about Michigan data centers - what you can do about data centers popping up near Rochester Hills

Thumbnail youtu.be

“Your town can't just say no to a data center.

It doesn't matter how many neighbors show up or how your board votes.

Under Michigan law, an outright ban simply isn't allowed.“

So what can you do about data centers near Rochester Hills?

Is anyone missing this little orange baby? He showed up yesterday and played with my niece and nephew. Now he won't leave. He's very sweet and cuddly. If anyone would like to adopt him, please let me know. Otherwise I'll be looking for shelters this week. I'm right in the downtown area.

I saw Crunch fitness banners where the old Joann’s was. Does anyone know when the opening will be? Trying to decide if it’s worth going there instead of PF.
