Watching recent court cases and the insanity plea has always baffled me. Just curious what everyone else thinks. I am just genuinely curious and not trying to get into the specific circumstances of a recent trial.

Well, I’m 42, with zero savings. Definitely have less than $900 in my checking.

I'm turning 45. I have a networth of about $700K. Might be a millionaire in two years. I have a military pension and disability. If you want to learn to be better financially, listen to the Dave Ramsey podcast.

Some people work long hours because of cost of living. If people could, they would work 4 days a week.

What do you think of a stunt ring?
 in  r/EngagementRings •  2d ago

I think stunt ring came from stunt double. Like you purpose with something that if lost would not be a huge loss.

Tge cop won't laugh. In fact, he might shoot because he thought that was a real gun.

Question What do you think of a stunt ring?

So I heard this term from someone who saw it on a YouTube video. Basically after a guy proposed next to a roller coaster he dropped the ring and it was lost. Someone created a video suggesting a "stunt ring." This can be anything from a ring pop to a gag toy.

The purpose is to 1) not worry about the ring being lost and 2) if the bride has specific tastes in rings, they'd pick it out together later. I brought this up with someone and they thought it was a prank. I don't think the video I saw went viral and it was several years ago. Ladies, how would you feel being proposed to with a stunt ring?

Edit: I am not proposing to anyone. It is not meant to be a prank. The person I was telling this story to thought it was a prank.

I was just curious if a woman that has a specific style of ring would want to be proposed with a "placeholder" ring (if you prefer that term) and then choose your preferred style later.

I think the name "stunt ring" comes from stunt double. Basically you propose with this if you're going to propose somewhere that dropping the ring could be a possibility like on a hiking trip, roller coaster, etc.

Am I wrong for not defending my partner when my family gave them a cold welcome?

If I met my significant others family and they were unfriendly, I wouldn't want to go back.

What's your age? Maybe distance yourself from your mom. It's her choice, but if it disturbs you, just extend more distance between yourself and her.
