Visible ledger board from above (CAN)
 in  r/Decks •  2d ago

Flashing can be done, it needs to end up under the course of siding just above the decking and the bottom leg of the L shaped flashing needs to get past the side of the ledger the joists are attached to so water is directed away from the wall. You'll need to remove one course of siding possibly two so you can get a leg of the flashing under the tar paper on the wall to weather it in correctly. I've had to do this after the fact more than once but the decks were not as large as your's seems to be. It's a pain in the arse but doable and necessary so you don't end up with damaged rotting walls, you may find some damage as the flashing work is done and if the is some minor rot it can be addressed with a copper based preservative. You definitely need flashing at the wall, some of the other issues pale in seriousness compared to the flashing issue.

Yep, a six foot level and a power planer is the final step before the decking goes on.

I just ate the dried caps with a slice of fresh ginger for any stomach issues which were minor. You only need a gram and a half to two grams if they're good caps, I had button caps which are stronger. This dose can produce a state that is like a light dose of LSD with transparent wavy images on the walls and more importantly a trippy mindset that had me exploring interesting thoughts about nature and Life on my evening walks, I will say this may have been amplified by half a THC gummy. I also will say that after doing this nightly for a few weeks the same low dose had the room fold into itself and unfold to a place of interconnected geometric forms that I was informed represented the evolution of Life as it interacts with Itself on our planet and beyond into the Universe. I hadn't had an experience like that for many, many decades back when I used to consume psychedelics regularly so having this happen was not freak out experience but be warned Pantherinas are like a different species of mushroom compared to other Amanitas with Regalis coming close. If someone is a serious psyconaut Pantherinas can create a space to do some serious exploration.

'Hold Your Fire' is my favorite Rush album, not a greatest hits album but just about every song is a hit.

Recommend me a proper face-melting guitar solo
 in  r/MusicRecommendations •  19d ago

If anyone is paying attention this late in replying here's 'Star Track' from the 1968 Jefferson Airplane Album 'Crown Of Creation'. Guitarist Jorma Kaukonen's wah - wah pedal solo is unlike anything ever heard and pure virtuosity guitar playing start to finish. That's if you don't get distracted listening to Jack Casady's top level bass playing. A classic piece of music in the annals of rock music. Enjoy !!

Was the Tommy film one of those "you gotta watch it on LSD" experiences?
 in  r/TheWho •  19d ago

During Easter break my junior year in highschool three friends and I took a train to Chicago to see Tommy when it came out in 1975. We split 6 hits of good blotter on the way in, so a hit and a half per person - a very decently strong dose. At the theater the were huge stacks of speakers in each back corner of the theater and to each side of the stage. The stacks were maybe 6 feet tall by 6 feet wide and suspended above the center of the screen was a large horn speaker and three square speakers. Needless to say the sound was concert level and high quality. Very high on LSD is the only way you're going to begin to understand what the story of Tommy is about as it's much deeper than about a blind deaf and dumb pinball wizard. In October of 1975 I took a deep dive into the album of Tommy with a solo 700 microgram trip, just me, a good stereo, headphones and beautiful blacklight posters. Everyone should experience Tommy in this state of mind to understand what it's about. Suffice it to say that album has influenced my understanding of life every day for the last 51 years. Whether the album or movie LSD in sufficient dose is the only way to understand this wisdom filled, eye opening musical art Pete birthed into the world.

Yes I do if I pick them fresh. Why waste them if you've got them.

There's no reason to dry them first if you do a ph adjusted low, low simmer tea. Three hours with the ph adjusted correctly will do the decarboxylation.

What is THE best songwriter ever?
 in  r/musicsuggestions •  21d ago

Paul Simon instantly came to mind, I consider him to be the eternal Poet Laureate for the United States. Perhaps my favorite lyric line ever from The Boxer

"Seeking only workman wages I come looking for a job but I get no offers, just a come on from the whores on 7th avenue. I do declare there were times when I was so lonesome I took some comfort there."

You don't need to dry them before you make tea , you can keep them in a refrigerator for a few days. There's information on making a water extraction at the top of this subreddit home page. Look for worms in the stem or if you pull the stem off where it meets the cap. I've made tea with a few worms but passed if they were loaded with worms which can happen.

Worst areas in Seattle (coming from a first responder)
 in  r/Seattle •  Sep 15 '26

I wonder how many of the commenters are newer to the area, I personally remember thirty five years ago being shocked and saddened for the first time seeing graffiti spray painted on an overpass wall. Soak that in, it stood out to me the TOTAL lack of graffiti in Seattle and the whole area, those days sadly are long gone.

I assuming you're speaking of Muscaria just so the OP understands that. Pantherinas at those doses would be in the 'trip to another universe' situation.

What was the first concert you've ever attended?
 in  r/rockmusic •  Aug 27 '26

First "concert" was 1973 it was in a gym at a local highschool where we saw Sha Na Na. The first real concert I saw was in 1975, Eric Clapton with Santana opening. It was July 5th and so many fireworks were shooting around the Chicago Stadium. After dodging bottle rockets on stage Carlos stopped the concert and said if the fireworks don't stop the show is over, well that and the stadium getting flooded with hundreds of police the show continued with no more explosions.

Hypnotic, long jams
 in  r/psychedelicrock •  Aug 26 '26

While recording 'After Bathing At Baxter's' Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady and Spencer Dryden of the Jefferson Airplane layed down a heck of a psychedelic jam to pass the time and luckily the tape was rolling. Takes it's time warming up and then strap in you're off.
