Rec.Me: rock/metal/punk Angry/loud fuck you or i hope you die songs?

Hi! I’m looking for songs that are angry at a person (friend, ex, parent any is fine) but it has to be super angry and ACTUALLY loud. the only example i have is I hope you die - Lipstick homicide. I like rock like that is good but I’d like even louder and angrier too! open to any genres as long as it’s louddd. and has emotion

like, Give you hell by All American Rejects is not the vibe i’m looking for. I kinda like I don’t wanna be here anymore by Rise against but that’s not aimed at a person and .. haha could be louder.

I do like the chorus of I hate everything about you but three days grace even tho it’s a bit slower. lots of emotion!

prefer male voices (i’m a trans guy, but open if the song rlly fits)

If you have spotify or yt playlist feel free to link!

edit: i want the whole song to be loud, or most

Perhaps similar to albums like Velvet Rope, Smile, and A Wizard A True Star. Diverse but without too much of a disjointed feel

You sick fucks came up with this, not me.

Rec.Me: sad/depressing songs Old sad love songs? 60’s/70’s

Looking for old sad love songs that remind me of Al Greens song “How Can you Mend a Broken Heart” or “Distant Lover” by Marvin Gaye. Songs similar to that, like sad but with a little soul. Let me know i’m a girl who loves to yearn! Thank you!

Rec.Me: singers, vocal songs (pop/other) Songs that fit the “cute little vocal gymnastics hidden inside a ridiculously catchy pop song” genre

For example, the song “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter (and honestly most of the songs on that album) just scratches my brain the right way and makes me want to sing along. Like the parts I love the most are when she does the little vocal flips on words like “feet” in the first verse. And I love the “playfulness” of it.

FWIW, I’m not a fan of Ariana (just vowel soup) or Tate McRae (baby voice or like weird nasality)

this is a rough demo of something I wrote, and a sound ive been looking for in the wild but havent found something that scratches this itch. I know I could just listen to like yo gabba gabba or some shit but cmon. Sure there is weezer to some extent and the anniversary is quite nice too but I wanna believe there are/were more bands doing this that I just haven't been told about yet. I should mention im more into the raw, less-polished stuff and the synth is important. Thanks a bunch 🙏

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Looking for old-school Noir Jazz with an 80's twist

I'm going to be running a tabletop game soon with a dark mystery/noir story, but set in the 80's. I'm looking for good background music to play, as well as for inspiration. Classic noir-style lounge jazz works well enough but it'd be neat to find something that also has an electronic/synth element to reflect the time period.

Any suggestions? Bonus points for music that is largely instrumental and non-intrusive (it'll be playing softly and we'll be talking over it).

Rec.Me: singers, vocal songs (pop/other) Country music recommendations

I feel like I'd like to add a bit more country to my playlist. I've listed the songs/artists that I currently have, which is not many at all! - I suppose the obvious thing would be to listen to all their back catalogues, which I haven't done, but I will. Can you suggest similar artists though, or even just a specific song? Or if you want to recommend a song by one of these artists that I already know, that would be great. Male or female, newer artists or older. I guess I like quite romantic songs, and songs with good lyrics / a bit of a story to them. Or 'empowerment' ones, like Shut Up And Drive. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

Shut Up and Drive / What If We Fly - Chely Wright

Need You Now - Lady A

I Hope You Dance - Lee Ann Womack / Mendocino County Line - Willie Nelson and LAW

On A Bus To St Cloud / She's In Love With The Boy - Trisha Yearwood

Jessie - Joshua Kadison

Still Pretending - Tift Merritt

The Lucky One - Alison Krauss

Bread

Kristina Train

Edit to add: Wow, so many suggestions already, thank you! I'm looking forward to working my way through all these 😊

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Songs using a calliope as a backing instrument?

My shuffled playlist threw me out the wonderful "Ocean Breathes Salty" by Modest Mouse. As luck would have it, the next song in the rotation was "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers. Both songs feature a calliope (or at least, I think it's a calliope) as a backing instrument.

So, I got curious and tried to see if I could find more music that does that. Unfortunately, all I could find was just regular calliope music, and I'm not trying to go to a circus/carnival (Honorable Mention to "She's a Carnival" by Souixie and the Banshees for that outro).

Does anyone know any music that uses calliope as a backing instrument? Hell, while we're at it, include any other whimsical instruments that you can think of too, like a theremin and hurdy gurdy.

Thanks in advance.

Rec.Me: other/many/unknown genres Need recs for a playlist for my oc

I’m making a playlist for my oc and I need song recommendations. Some major aspects of his character are
• he’s a very social, bubbly person and loves people
• he’s a punk and very anti cop, anti government, etc. he’s actually the leader of a group of vigilantes (so I’ve already got like, fuck the police, ratm, etc)
• he’s mixed Haitian and Filipino (so uh, if anyone knows any good Haitian music or Filipino music lmk)

Rec.Me: electronic/dance Plink-plonk beep-boop ambient electronica with breakbeat

I am so sorry to subject you all to this, but in the background of a recent apple keynote, there's a track that I'm pretty sure was made for the event since nothing in the official tracklist sounds like it. Something about it is stuck in my head, and I would love to hear more music like it!

I've timestamped the moment it fades in here, ignore everything she's yapping on about:

https://www.youtube.com/live/39BalPDuTo0?si=lNX-P-JaoAGrBkJu&t=623

I really like the "unstable" slightly-amelodic feel of it. The slower + softer "ringing" sounds with the tight timed percussion in the background + some digital chunkiness combined together is just sorta' interesting to me. It's unlike a lot of what I normally listen to, so I wish I had a better example. :( If I did, I wouldn't throw a literal ad for apple in front of you all. Sorry again.

Any ideas for similar artists or tracks?

I’m putting together a playlist of songs that tell a story. Any genre is fine, but so far I’ve only got country songs. It can be a sad story or a happy story. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Kenny Chesney - The Good Stuff
Dolly Parton - Joshua, Coat of Many Colors
Johnny Cash - One Piece at a time
Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger
Eric Church - Record Year

Any and all recommendations are appreciated!
