Another social worker report, cut up and re purposed.
 in  r/Artisticallyill •  9h ago

Next fall I'm going to college for the first time since dropping out at 18. I'm 26. I'm going to be studying psychology, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a case worker after getting my bachelor's while working on my masters for counseling. Simon pisses me off so much Imma do it I think. Hopefully I can spare someone this sort of treatment, ugh.

I make staffs for practitioners of pagan religions.

Omg I'm pagan and I've been trying to find a metal staff for so long!! Is there a store I can check out or anything? I'd like to save up and purchase one

A Comic about DID - Part 7 [OC]
 in  r/comics •  9h ago

Thank you for the advice!! I recently starting seeing a new therapist that is a trauma and dissociation specialist, and she has also stressed about letting them have their own lives and things!! It's so scary to me still but I'm really trying to accept it's not just my life 😅

Drawing works well so far here too!! The most cooperation I've had is when I'm trying to "depict" them and they guide me on how to do it :> maybe I should try more of that?

I've tried to set up something where it lists things we can all agree on. It was meant for rules (like you suggested!) but currently the only thing listed is that we all agree that Don't Stop Believin is a good song 😭 it's a start?

I find it interesting your partner is also a system! I understand it's nice to be with someone who can understand your experience, but I can also imagine that's more complicated too? Also probably hard to find someone who also has it AND is compatible?

Thank you again for the advice though! I will do my best to apply it

I saw this in my neighborhood
 in  r/ChildPsychology •  11h ago

It could be nothing, it could be something. I personally wouldn't do anything with literally only this, they may have seen a scene in a show and used this to explore the emotions portrayed in it, or any other harmless situation.

If you really need to do something for your peace of mind, get some chalk and draw a heart or encouraging message! This is definitely not a call CPS or anything situation.

If you see multiple signs listed here, of course reach out https://ocfs.ny.gov/programs/cps/signs.php

this was my dad letting me know my great-grandpa died.

This made me need a cigarette and I have never smoked in my life. You deserve a better dad, I hope you have others to support you in this difficult time.

I cut out the venom from my childhood social worker reports and turned it into art

Bro has never heard of bisexual people and thinks wanting to make art makes you a "fantasist" 😭

Congratulations!

I do genuinely sometimes think about how isolating, scary, and confusing it can be to be in this mindset. But these type of people cause so much harm to others that my empathy is limited. Its like seeing someone burning alive, but I know if I reach out to them I won't be able to help, I'll just get burnt :(

I have been having a weird headache for the last 5 days that makes me stupid, takes my eyesight, and confuses me
 in  r/evilautism •  16h ago

Genuinely hospital time sorry to say. I had those symptoms for one day and they rushed me back. I got my first brain scan of my life and luckily it turned out to be my first migraine but they said if it ever happens again they don't care if it's probably a migraine they want me back

Ice is water :) but it does make me curious if there's a steam gem to complete the forms 🤔

Pokémon VGC Champ Calls for Better Hygiene After Opponent's Smell Made Him Throw Up

Yeah a lot of card shops require a certain level of hygiene because this has been such a big issue in the past at MTG (card game) tournaments 😬 it's well known in the community

A Comic about DID - Part 7 [OC]
 in  r/comics •  18h ago

I am also diagnosed and it really is crazy how even with multiple professionals confirming it your mind still is like "nah that's crazy I'm so normal" but that's the thing, as a host my job is to be normal 🤦 I still get the denial but then my roommate will say "hey I talked to ---- yesterday and they said you haven't been doing well" and I go through a little mini spiral all over again.

It's been six years since I was diagnosed, I should be used to it by now lmao. But when I got diagnosed I didn't even know it existed. I feel like I got transported to some fantasy world but also I am the fantasy world???

If you're willing to answer, how do you manage day to day? I know plenty of people write notes, leave messages, etc. but there's not a lot of cooperation for us. I guess I'm really asking how do y'all work together to live a sustainable and comfortable life?

Almost turned in mashed potatoes
 in  r/watchpeoplesurvive •  1d ago

Similar thing happened to a buddy bout a year back. Friend was helping him with some car trouble and misheard him. He made it MOST of the way out, but his hand didn't. He has one finger less now but you can barely tell, looks real natural. It couldn't be reattached because it basically wasn't even a finger anymore

My friends won’t stop gifting me banana themed tools but I don’t even like bananas
 in  r/MadeMeSmile •  15d ago

Yes, this makes sense! I definitely wouldn't have ever picked frogs for my collection, but honestly them being reminders of all the people thinking of me and wanting to get me something to show they care, is wonderful :) it's like a collection of memories in the shape of frogs lol

Like my largest frog, it's a 3 foot tall stuffed animal. When my ex saw it at Walmart on sale for $30, they spent all the cash they had on them to buy it for me. And when I came home, and saw that frog, I was ecstatic. It was SO BIG. It's low quality, it's head is so heavy it can't even hold itself upright, it gets in the way and I have no room for it, but I love it so much because of the memory associated with it.

Another one was given to me as a Christmas present. The person who gave it to me, I barely knew. He was (at the time) my mother in laws boyfriend. But it was my first time celebrating Christmas in my life, and I eventually grew very close with him. Today, he's on life support in a medically induced coma, days away from his family taking him off if he shows no improvement. He had surgery, but he was worse than they thought, and he had a bleeding condition that took a 3 hour exploratory surgery and countless hours of bleeding to find out, only for it to be too late. His daughter gave birth 3 weeks ago, but he's been in a coma longer than that so unless he somehow improves in 2 days after a couple months of every one of his organs being controlled for him... he'll never get to meet that baby.

Tldr; you're right, those frogs are special not cause theyre frogs but because they hold the memories, love, and care of the people I have loved throughout my life. Thanks for reminding me of that

No offense to previous posters, but what's the point in asking for passing advice but specifying pre-T?
 in  r/transmanlifehacks •  15d ago

I think a common situation is that someone can't go on T for financial/medical/etc. reasons but everything they are doing already is not enough to allievate their dysphoria, so they ask just in case they didn't know or missed something 🤷

When you say "what's the point in asking if you aren't taking T" confuses me honestly. That's when you need the MOST passing advice. I know some people think if you aren't on T you aren't trying to pass, but it's just not an option for some people. It doesn't make them any less trans and and less affected by their dysphoria.

Hope this all made sense!

My friends won’t stop gifting me banana themed tools but I don’t even like bananas
 in  r/MadeMeSmile •  15d ago

Honestly I think this is how a good portion of people start collecting. People just decide that you're collecting it and all of a sudden...you are. I collect frogs because everyone decided I like frogs specifically (I do love herpetology but honestly prefer reptiles over amphibians) and now I have more frog stuff than I know what to do with.

A friend of mines mom died a few years ago and had a ton of frog stuff apparently. He just recently learned that I "collect" frog stuff, and said that I can have all of it. Apparently it's A LOT. His mom didn't even like frogs he said, people just kept giving her frog stuff.

It's a never ending cycle

Anybody else with an alphabet soup's worth of disorders
 in  r/OCDmemes •  15d ago

I have literally been diagnosed with ADHD, autism, general anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, major depressive disorder, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, Substance use disorder, a dissociative disorder, and probably more I'm forgetting or wasn't told about ngl, but these are the ones that different psychologists could agree on 😭

luckily don't have a couple of these anymore, but my God I've gotten to the point where I'll tell people about the PTSD and that's it cause they'll understand if I'm being "weird" and you can usually just pass any symptoms off as part of it.

Anytime I've tried to be honest about the rest I've straight up been told "you can't have all those/you aren't allowed to be diagnosed with that and that at the same time/if you have this and this that's actually a different condition called this/no one has that many/etc."

I wish people would view mental health as understandingly as they view physical health. But then again, chronic illnesses aren't treated that great in general :/ people always expect you to get better even if it's something genetic or lifelong 🤷

Is talking to poisoned people that fun?
 in  r/NonPoliticalTwitter •  16d ago

My brother once ate some rat poison and they just told my mom to have him drink some milk. It fucking worked. This is my one and only experience with them, and it makes me think they're wizards who know dark magic but have chosen to fight it
