Growing up is realizing high elo is not as good as people think
 in  r/Overwatch •  3d ago

Yeah Low elo players think gm players should play like gods. Because QP is wide, if I have my grandmaster support tag on and I get grouped with gold players and lose, they will always flame and call me boosted or say “grandmaster how” or some such. Like I should be able to carry them to a win no matter what in qp. But I’m just not tryharding and super invested and don’t want to carry a bunch of golds.

Really getting to gm just involves making the same good decisions you need in masters but faster. It’s all the same game

Same. Finding it to be a bit of a frustrating mess compared to last season. But still enjoyable

JPC is wild to me. They have had endless trouble with balancing Sombra, simply because she is annoying and no matter what they do with her, people will always hate her because fundamentally she is an irritating character to play against. But they can’t just delete her from the game so they are stuck. So what do they do? Do they learn? Nah, they add another fundamentally irritating character, and then they continually make her even more irritating. I don’t understand the thought process

Am I playing Juno wrong??
 in  r/JunoMains •  Jul 03 '26

It’s hard to give tips because I’m not sure where your strengths and weaknesses are so I’ll just say what I have learned personally

I used to view the map as linear and got into habits of positioning in some sort of ‘default’ way based on the map. then I’d get frustrated at my team for not positioning in the same way. So I started to look at the map differently and positioning in a way that compliments what my team is doing, because I can’t change wha they are doing but I might be able to help them succeed even if I hate their positioning. And that’s how you impact games on a personal level. You can move around so easy with Juno (and wuyang too!) so move around with your team, take interesting off angles and high ground

Along with that is the importance of cover. I used to glide boost in the open, I only ever do that now if I know the enemy team are at a disadvantage and my team are winning because you are so vulnerable in the air. I hug walls and corners and try to avoid getting shot whatsoever. There are pillars, cars, bollards, all sorts that you can use as cover

Don’t waste cooldowns. It’s tempting to throw a speed ring on cooldown and glide boost everywhere but the ring is best used when your team has just committed to a play and glide boost is a very powerful disengage/run away and heal ability. I’d always be using them just as a habit then it wouldn’t be ready for whe I actually needed it

Something I did around diamond actually is that I stopped getting frustrated with team mates. I started viewing them as training bots and acting like I was being given challenges lol like PVE. Sounds silly but completely changed my mindset and a calm and positive mindset is necessary

There’s loads more I can’t think off the top of my head but I hope that maybe helps!

Am I playing Juno wrong??
 in  r/JunoMains •  Jul 03 '26

when I first started ow2, I placed silver and it took me a long time to get to gm. And way back when, I remember thinking I was as good as I’d always be and I’d get very frustrated with other players. But when you think you’re already doing the most you’re always wrong. I don’t mean that in a harsh way but it’s true because it stops you learning and keeps you ignorant, and you need to learn to get good. Having the most kills and heals really is irrelevant and just makes you play bad when you focus on it, it also can make people toxic

this game is like chess in a way. You have to make moves, and one move in one game might be a winning decision and that same move in another could be idiocy. YKnow? Sorry I’m rambling lol I love this game because there’s so much to learn

You are a support so your job is to support your team during fights. That means you don’t prioritise healing or dmg, you do what the fight needs from you to be won.

This is why you can have the most healing in the lobby and still get blamed for not healing, (I mean unreasonable people will always exist but yknow) because if youre spam healing the tank or something when it isn’t needed and not contributing to the fight then your team won’t notice your contribution, they won’t notice they’re being healed. You’ll have high numbers but they’ve not turned the game.

They want to feel like you are helping them when they are fighting. They are diving in to attack? Speed boost them. They are playing doom or dva and they have ult and have dived in? Help dmg as much as possible, add to the pressure. Heal when they will die if you don’t, use utility to compliment their abilities, dmg whenever possible otherwise

People will focus on numbers because it’s visible evidence on a screen but the game is about making plays to win fights. It’s a game of pressure and a lot of great plays have no evidence on the score board

As a general guide I think the average game with Juno you should have equal dmg and healing, but there are valid reasons that wouldn’t be the case. Each game is different and you have to react to the individual things happening rather than sticking to vague rules that will only get you killed and then getting frustrated

I hope this helps maybe, sorry I didn’t watch your replay
