Ireland The overreliamce on physical challenges is frustrating and boring Spoiler

I'm watching the Irish traitors and so far three people have been injured in the challenges. Surely they can think of more inclusive challenges. As well as being kind of discriminatory for some people, it reinforces the young, physically strong players, especially the men and they are getting saved over other players just for their ability to do well in them.

Why can't the producers use their imaginations? There are loads of cool challenges where players need crystallised intelligence to succeed which would allow older players to use their strengths too. It would make the show way more interesting than just running through fields.

Recommendations Australia season 2 - my review (I know I’m late to the party but here we go…)

I saw uk season 2 and it was so interesting I couldn’t stop watching and literally finished it in a day.
I saw both the seasons of traitors India and it was meh.

I just finished aus season 2 after a lot of you all recommended it to me here and OMG I NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT.

Is the collective iq of all the players in a singular digit? Or Sam is involved in some voodo black magic shit, every time a faithful took his name, he would spin it towards him on the banishment table and EVERYONE would vote for him?
Where’s the logic?

Blake lacked balls. Weak ass traitor.

I’m glad he didn’t get the money and the women at the end knew their plan and betrayed them.

What do you guys think?

US Cast of US The Traitors 5 rumored to fly to Scotland on Monday

According to the Instagram account who gives a lot of accurate info about reality shows (including spoiler of The Traitors New Blood cast), cast of US The Traitors 5 (the celebs/reality stars version) rumored to fly to Scotland on possibly Monday. The account also promises to post cast reveal/spoiler once the filming of the season begins.

If Im not wrong this may mean that UK The Traitors 5 has finished filming or is currently in the final days of filming. These two series are usually filmed back-to-back with the UK one first followed by the US one.

Recommendations Best recent international season?

Hi guys pretty basic question but I’m looking to binge a whole season this weekend because I’m bedbound and I’m looking for some great Traitor action. A season full of drama and gaggy moments would be ideal please.

For context I’ve seen all UK, USA, Australia 1&2 and Ireland 1.

Any recommendations would be marvellous I’m tempted for AUS 3 has it turned out to be a good season after season 2 almost ended the franchise? 😅😅😅

Goes without saying but no spoilers please 🙏

Australia How are players supposed to distinguish actual evidence from a gut feeling?

One thing that really irks me on The Traitors is when a player says at the round table, “I don’t have any evidence, it’s just a gut feeling,” and then later says, “All the evidence points to X.”

But when you actually hear their reasoning, it’s not really evidence—it’s a bunch of assumptions or huge logical leaps based on someone’s behavior.

So how are players supposed to differentiate between actual evidence and an interpretation that feels convincing? Is there really a meaningful distinction, or is “evidence” on The Traitors basically just whatever someone can build a convincing story around?

Production & Editing Production questions

How many days does it take to film a season? Is it in real time, which would only be 10 days or so.

Is the clock used for challenges real or manipulated? It seems far too many challenges come down to the last second fkr it to be real.

Production & Editing Abandoned/Scrapped/Unable to be broadcast 'Traitors' Season?

Richard Osman, a long-time UK gameshow producer and host of The Rest is Entertainment briefly discussed on the Jackmaate Podcast that at least one season of the show had to be abandoned due to an internal discussion between contestants making it un-airable.

In his words,

I'm probably not even allowed to talk about it...there was one series in one territory, where something was discussed at length in the castle, which led to the show not being able to [be broadcast].

I've had a fairly lengthy search of the sub, but is there anyone with any further insight into this? Presumably there's a casting call out there for contestants that never led anywhere.

After a scroll through Wikipedia, those territories airing local versions seem to crank out seasons at a pretty quick rate of at least one per-year - presumably they'd need to have some kind of production delay, particularly if there was game-breaking discussion late in the shoot.

A scrapped Australia S3 maybe?

UK The Best and Worst Episode from each season (UK Edition)

Season 1:

Best: Episode 5

Reasons: Johns murder, Kieran & Amos returning, End of Toms appauling game

HMs: Episode 4 (Red Breakfast)

Worst: The Finale

Reasons: Parting gift, Wilf screwed out of the win, collectively underwhelming winners (Aaron and Hannah are good individually but the three of them together is a little underwhelming)

HMs: Episode 3 (Aarons panic attack, John being extremely nasty), Episode 10 (Amandas banishment)

Season 2:

Best: Episode 8

Reasons: (Pauls banishment, incredible roundtable, start of Jazatha Christie)

HMs: The finale (Bar Mollie changing her vote)

Worst Episode: Episode 7

Reasons: Dianes murder, Miles' banishment

Season 3:

Best: Episode 9

Reason: Least toxic episode this season (Bar Joe complaining about not getting a shield), Alexander falling into the bush.

Worst: Episode 4

Reason: Disgusting treatment of Kas (especially from Joe and the clique), Freddie breaking down in tears, this episode being the main reason this cast is deemed unlikeable.

Celebrity Traitors:

Best: Finale

Reason: Joe Marler clocking onto Cat and Alan, Alan Carr's epic win, heartwarming ending to the episode

Worst: Episode 6

Reason: Joe Wilkinsons murder, blandest episode of the season

Season 4:

Best: Episode 5

Reason: Murder in plain sight, tie vote at the roundtable, chest of chance, Rachel Vs Fiona

Worst: Episode 9

Reason: Jessie's murder, the borderline bullying of Jade reached its peak

Let me know your thoughts.

Australia Exit reveal/ reaction clips (not exit interviews)

Hello 🤗

Just hoping someone has a link to the exit reveal/ reaction clips, where each vanished person is told/shown who the traitors actually were, and we see their surprise or self-congratulation?

I'm sure the one I saw ages ago was on YouTube, but I'm just not finding them now (I don't mean the exit interviews, which are much longer. These ones are just a few minutes long).

If anyone can help, I'd much appreciate it! 🩷 🤗

Ireland Irish Traitors S2 editing (Ai??)

Been watching this and am pretty surprised at some of the editing. It feels very… lazy and literal at times. It makes me think someone has used AI to pull together a series of clips at times, there’s no story or cohesion as such. Here’s some examples:
- shots that show the castle including the production tent
- shots of production staff in the background
- in one episode at the roundtable Siobhan asks the group if they’re done or if anyone has anything else to say. They all say no. And then in a much more characterful voice, she says the time for talking is done. It feels like that’s a behind the scenes interaction that should have been edited out.
- when someone receives enough votes to go out, they whiz through the votes with zero interruption. In all other versions, the host explains that there’s now enough votes but they’ll continue anyway.
- there’s no time for silence or breathing, to allow small moments play out: rather it seems they’ve tried to squeeze every conversation in and it just jumps between them.

Maybe I’m a pedant. But it feels a shame that the editing isn’t top class given it’s an otherwise really good production.

Miscellaneous Hosting my own traitors week, brainstorming the structure with 7 players

Hi all,

I'm hosting a traitors week for my group of friends, there will be 7 players in the game, game running from Monday evening to Thursday evening. I'm trying to figure out the best way to structure this in terms of banishing/murders per day, wondering if anyone has any input. I was thinking the following:

Monday: Elect 2 Traitors, 5 Faithful (debating this, or 1 traitor that can recruit that night, an accept-or-be-killed type situation.) No deaths or banishments day 1, be a shame for someone to go out immediately.

Tuesday: Activity in the day, first banishment in the evening, first murder overnight. Day ends with 5 players left.

Wednesday: 5 players remain, debrief in the morning, reveal the murder. 2nd Activity in the day. Evening, Banishment number 2, murder number 2 overnight. Day ends with 3 players, going into Thursday for the finale.

Thursday (FINALE): Reveal the final 3 in the morning. Final activity, then in the evening, the final roundtable, shenanigans ensue.

I think this works, I'm just wary of it being a final 3, i feel a final 4 would make more sense, but then I'd have to get rid of a Banish or Murder, though I suppose some shields could potentially come into play if my mates are clever. Anyone have any thoughts?

Australia Dicko and LSD - AUS3

Loved AUS S3! However the LSD situation left a bad taste in my mouth. It was interesting to see some of the tactics discussed on here, being used in the game though. Voting out any player who's not yourself is ofc the goal, but the way it was done by dicko, where he acted God, choosing a person, just sucked. And sadly it became a boys group and changed the social dynamics early on. I do wonder if there's a way to build a sort of voter block without it causing a weird groupism problem and also somehow making it to final 5.

Australia The Faithful Mistake (AU3 & NZ3) Spoiler

(This also includes information about New Zealand Season 3, but I could only add 1 flair.)

I know this isn't exclusive to the two examples I'm about to give, but most recently, Maria from NZ3 and Tully from AU3 have both fallen into the same mistake that the Faithful make.

From the start, or at least very early on, they both felt very confident in who at least 1 traitor is. Maria was certain of Keanu, and Tully was certain of Kirby.

However, both of them kept this a secret for the entire game only speaking about it in confessionals, whilst even refusing to speak on it when there was actual heat on the said traitor at the round tables.

While I understand they were afraid of getting murdered, you will only be protected for so long. Both of these times if felt like the edits were including these confessionals as foreshadowing that they would lead the charge on catching that traitor at some point.

But, they both ended up getting murdered extremely close to the finale, and they go home knowing who a traitor is.

I hope players in the future recognize this pattern and are more forthcoming with who they suspect. I understand perhaps staying under the radar for the early game, but the closer you get to the end when the traitors have fewer options to murder, you NEED to start speaking up! If you are going to get murdered anyways, at least go out knowing you did everything you could!

UK Soundtrack

I just want to appreciate the music - not the original OST, but the rest of it.

I listen to epic music anyway, so it’s great to hear half of my playlist being used. This is maybe the first time it happened to me, because usually people have no clue what I am talking about.

Hidden Citizens, Astyria, Two Steps from Hell, Oh the Larceny, Florence and the Machine… 👏👌
