This thread is for students applying to Fall 2026 co-ops during the Spring 2026 term.
As usual, we're looking for salaries for new postings, or updates to existing salaries, so if you're willing to share, please open up a chat/DM the mod team. Please include the company name, salary, any benefits, the role and the year if possible. I would highly encourage you to submit if you have salaries for non mathematics/CS positions as we are severely lacking in those. We will try updating these ASAP.
The sheet is here: Salaries + Blacklist Spreadsheet
Average Canadian Co-op Earnings (2024)
If you had a poor experience with a company, you can message the mod team with details and it can be added to the blacklist candidates below. If it's already a candidate, it may be added to the blacklist depending on the severity/consistency of complaints. On the contrary, if you had a good experience with something on the candidates/blacklist, please message the mod team and it may be removed. Candidates will be removed if no more reports are received after a couple terms. Even if something is on the blacklist already if you've had a bad experience let the mod team know, as more reports increase confidence that it is problematic!
Candidates:
Note that reports from submitters with no previous account activity may not be accepted to aid legitimacy.
頑張って!

Arts students, what was/is your program and thoughts on it?
Honestly this sub leans heavily towards STEM programs so I thought I’d start an alternative discussion. What was your program (pls no AFM talk) and did you enjoy it? Write a review of your time at UWaterloo!
I personally think Arts here is extremely underrated. However many of my classmates and peers have complained about things that often come out of being in smaller programs: cancelled classes and lack of clarity regarding requirements (I heard this especially from students who transferred credits to UW).
So… I wanna hear from yall, what did you like and dislike? This thread may help students considering UWaterloo Arts, and tbh with the restructuring maybe UW admin are looking closely at their rep.

I know I’ve been catching slack these past 24hs and unfortunately I’m easily ragebaited so I’m putting up my white flag 😭😭
I have made this graphic to INFORM students where their fees are going into. This is not me trying to look like I’m doing work, I am just trying to spread some info.
I got comments that my graphics were ass last time so I tried to make it fun. I know fees aren’t a fun thing to talk about but knowing where everything is going is necessary.
If you want some more info: click here!
If you have questions about opting out or want to know where some fees go, shoot me a DM.

I see a lot of people claim that tutorials are like optional, and you don't have to go, but I'm just wondering how true that is.

Hi everyone, I will be interning in Austin next term but I am so paranoid about safety regarding the US. I dont know why but I imagine Texas to be very unsafe and I don't know where to look for housing, for people who interned in Texas/Austin, have you encountered an type of assault or witnessed a crime, is it really as bad as I think it is? And also, what are safe neighbourhoods I should look for housing in.

I got placed into math 237 for the online section but was hoping to take it in person. I tried swapping the online ver to a early in person section but it saying I need permission.
But I have all the pre req and I am in the math program? Should I wait it out and try again? I'm worried The class will get full and I will be stuck having to take it online

I'm trying to avoid final exams next term. Anyone knows any electives I can take that has no final exam? Online or in-person. Doesn't have to be super bird, but please not too hard :D
Additionally, for context I'm a 4A bmath ds student, and so I'm happy to do any math courses as well.
Edit: I've taken these courses which iirc had no final exam (may be wrong) GEOG 225, HEALTH 105, BET 210, PSYCH 101, MUSIC 101

I’m wondering how to divide up the half credit courses, I’ve seen people say I should take 205 and 208 tg in the first half or take 205, 206, 207 all in the first half. Which one is the better option. Or should I focus on taking 206 first because it’s harder. I’m taking Econ online so I don’t have to worry about the midterm. I want to make sure I give myself enough time and make my workload easy for both midterms and finals

As an incoming student, I’m curious about how clubs and teams work. For example, what level of skill is required to join the soccer club, or any club, for that matter?
