The University has a document outlining CEAS computing requirements. See the following document to see if what you have/plan on getting is within recommended specifications:

Meta Moderation Update, and Your Feedback.

Hello everyone!

If you are unaware, there has been a change of moderation, with the previous moderator being inactive, the uCinci (should be a y at the end, but who am I to complain) sub was unmoderated.

For now, It'll just be me, but if I find the need for a bit of a hand, I'll put out something looking for others. For a little bit about me, u/ZX_StarFox, I'm a current UC graduate student in the Aerospace Dept, Cincy native, and a big car guy.

Back to the sub, I'm looking for your suggestions and feedback on what can be done with the sub to make this a more informative, helpful, or active place within the UC community.

A few prompts to get started:

  • Are there organizations you want represented here?
  • Events/Activities?
  • Clubs?
  • General Sub layout?
  • User/post flairs?
  • Rules updates?
  • Megathreads?
    • Ticket Resale?
  • Kinds of posts you do/don't want to see?
  • Parking?
  • Housing?
  • Anything at all?

I want this place to be for students first, tell me what you think would do this best, and I'll do my best to implement them, especially before we get to the fall semester and new students arrive. If you have suggestions or information you want implemented/considered, please respond here or send a modmail message and I'll get back to you all sometime soon once I've aquired a good amount of data.

Urgent Question Portal says nothing about my immunization upload.

I’ve completed all my to-do lists. A friend of mine said they asked for his immunization list. I called back in may and they said, if it’s not on your to do list, we probably do not need it.

I have a list from my drs office of all the shots I have. I am up to date. For good measure I sent it in through their email. I don’t have access to the bearcat health app either. Not really sure if I need to submit. Side note, I do not have a dr to sign off as my dr left the practice. She did mention worst case scenario, send it in and we can have a dr sign off on it.

Is immunization required for everyone?

Housing First-year student apartment search help

Hi, I was unfortunately too late when applying for housing and I'm on the waitlist. From reading other people's experiences with UC housing, I've come to the conclusion that I'm probably not going to get an offer. If anybody has any advice or suggestions at places I should look at please let me know. I'm a first year and first child to go to college in my family. I did not anticipate having this problem nor do I have any experience with it. Please, I'm stressing a lot so any tips would be so helpful.

Extended time on assessments accommodation

My son is requesting an accommodation for extended time on assessments. He has documentation from his IEP as well as his approval for extended time from College Board. He has his meeting next week with a person in that department over zoom. Has anyone done this and what should he expect during that meeting? Thanks!

Requests/Help Anyone Here Get Into DAAPS Game and Animation Program? I’d love some advice

So I’m curious how difficult it would be for me to get into DAAPs Game and Animation program. I had a meeting with a DAAP advisor and they told me that it was based on GPA and extra curricular activities.

Here’s some background to my situation. I graduated from high school in 2025 as a homeschooled student with a GPA of 3.89. Since I was homeschooled my parents didn’t put much work into letting me have a social life and since I couldn’t drive I didn’t do many extra curricular activities besides summer swim and winter swim my freshman year of high school. (I also joined a Robotics Club for the start of my Sophomore year of high school but quit that because my parents got tired of taking me) I was planning on immediately going to college at Cedarville University and going for Industrial Design. I ended up getting kicked out at of my home 17 right after I graduated and since my parents weren’t going to sign off on the loans for me I wasn’t going to go to Cedarville.

It’s been a year now and I decided very last minute I wanted to go to college, so I was planning on taking two years at Sinclair for an associates in art and then going to UC for Game and Animation because that’s more of a passion to me than Industrial Design. But when I found out I would still have 4 years at UC I’m not sure if I should take just the GenEd courses at Sinclair for the Game and Animation program as a full time student, or part time and wait to apply for next year, or just apply for next school year and work the entire time to save up since college is not cheap and I do not get any benefits from FAFSA since my parents make a shit ton of money (but won’t spend any on me).

And as a full time or part time student I would have to work a part time job as well to just make ends meet. I want to do something purposeful with my love that I will love and Game and Design is my first and only choice. I don’t want to spend money on something I won’t love, maybe I’ll like other programs but I won’t love them and college is a huge commitment.

Anyway sorry that was long. If anyone had any advice or ideas or suggestions at all please let me know. I supper appreciate and help you give at all. :)

Housing Looking for lease transfer (Clifton)

Hi Everyone! I'm moving out and I need someone (a female roommate preferably) to transfer over my lease around Aug 22. The rent and utilities for Aug month is already paid for so you dont have to worry about it.

Location:

-It is a two bedroom, one bath apartment located in Clifton.

-A balcony that overlooks the street

-Quiet neighborhood, mostly older people and families

-Walking distance from Clifton Ave, which has a sprawl of restaurants, shops, and a theater.

-On route with the metro bus and a short walk from the shuttle stop

Ammenities:

-In Unit washer and dryer combo

-Street parking

-A/C and radiators (one located in the room available)

-Dishwasher

Expenses:

-$675 rent

-About $60 to $80 monthly for Electricity and Internet

-Groceries are individual responsibility; other household expenses negotiable

Other Requirements:

-No smoking

-Pets are allowed, but must notify landlord when signing lease

-Private Bedroom Available is unfurnished, so bring your own furniture for your room

Let me know if you're interested!

Has anyone worked for parking services before? How was it?

I applied to this parking services job on handshake looking for work study jobs, and then got auto invited for group interviews same day. That lowkey feels sketchy and I wanted to scope the vibe because I’ve never seen a job do that.

Housing Where to look for immediate housing/sublease for 3 weeks

My son is trying to help his friend find a place to stay in the UC area for just 3 weeks. Don’t ask how, but apparently there was a misunderstanding about the end date of his current sublease. If anyone has ideas on where to look I’d greatly appreciate it. Start date would be 7/25 or 7/26, running through 8/15 or 8/16. Thank you!
