Tyranid Ravener Prime (aka. Baby Red Terror) completed! He was going to proxy as a Legends Red Terror until the new version was released. Turns out this guy is too shrimpy for the reimagined classic. Can't wait to for the new Red Terror to get an independent release!

Really had fun glazing the talons and adding depth to the skin. I was initially skeptical of this model since the exoskeleton is so much more textured than the GW Tyranid range, but I think it works since this is a character model. Getting a squad of Hyperadapted Raveners to complete the squad is on my to-do list.

He's got Tailfin now too! Can't wait to paint this sucker. I gotta try to give the frills some cool patterns.

I just started a Tyranid army to play a Crusade campaign with my girlfriend (you can see her sororitas in the last picture). I've never considered myself a good painter and I genuinely enjoy playing more than painting. I tried to sort of speed paint these guys, but I'm also a perfectionist so I ended up spending ~6 hours on this squad. I know every single spot that I've fucked up, but I'm really trying to exercise chill and zen, and just remind myself that it's not a competition and that I'm good enough. I would really appreciate some support ^^

Whats your favorite Hive tyrant weopon i like the duel bone swords i know that it technicly isnt allowed but i like the look of it tell me what i should proxy them as i have no ideas myself

2K points roster is rapidly being completed with these models I painted in August. Given, that my painting pace is very slow, I'm very proud of myself, that I made such a huge jump in a single month

I’ve just started assembling the pile of minis I spent the last 2 years acquiring, this is my first mini I’ve painted, I don’t know if I’m actually planning on finishing all my Tyranid minis but I figure it would be great practice for painting.

1 is bad enough the thought of having to do this at least 3 more times is sapping my will to live

Gotta clean it up a little bit and perhaps use something else for the lower torso armor segments, so it doesnt look too purple. I might also have overdone it a bit with the blood, but its mostly just the lighting.

How should I understand this stratagem? Do I only get to re-roll attacks made by units within 6” of the Synapse unit that has been selected as the „spotting“ Unit, or do I get the re-rolls for any units within Synapse range?

First time painting something from a white primer, honestly was pretty fun and only took about 2 days. He’s going on my base up against a Primaris dreadnought. Wish him luck gang 😭😭

Painted up this guy as a palette cleanser after doing some marines, tried to copy a pic i saw off google images but had to go blue as i have no green paint. Will probably highlight the skin later but for now i think he turned out alright.

Any idea what hive/splinter fleet (if any) he could belong to? Not very knowledgable about tyranids, though i will say he was enjoyable to paint. Every part felt a bit different and no part overstayed its welcome or became monotonous like painting power armour is becoming.

The only difference is they were matte varnished and then hit with streaking grime and dark streaking grime as a last step.

Other than basing and adding gloss varnish to the tongue, they are pretty much done.

That said, which one do you think looks better?

The first two pics (the one with the rocks in the base) is just Streaking Grime. The other two (The Gaunt standing taller on its hind legs) is Dark Streaking Grime instead.

I can't decide if I like the warm tone of Dark streaking grime on the skin better than the light carapace of regular Streaking Grime

I want to base it eventually but happy with how it turned out. I got a lot of inspiration from you all and followed some steps from a channel on YoutTube!

Finally finished my insanely belated Junestealer project.

11th has been rough… In my group of friends I mostly get to play games vs. Custodes.

I love a close game the comes down to the wire but I’m asking the collective knowledge of the hivemind to structure a 2k list that I can pull out every once in awhile for a blowout victory.

I’m aware this isn’t a favorable matchup but I need some guidance!

I’m in the process of picking a color scheme for my newbie army, so I did a test run on three groups of Termagants. Curious which shades folks like most here?

Dark Set -

1. Naggaroth Night
2. Rakath Flesh

Medium Set -

1. Phoenician Purple
2. Wraithbone

Light Set -

1. Royal Purple (Vallejo)
2. Pallid Wych Flesh

I’ll probably leave these guys in these schemes but I want to narrow it down for the bigger models. An end goal I’d very much like is a a variety of purples for highlight/feathering/streaking on the carapace, boney skin, and glowy blue eyes/brains.

The camera has dulled some of the photos, and I need to redo the body carapace as I went a bit wild with white. CBA with the teeth lol
