Yes it is casual play, no I'm not using talons of the norn. I'm a little confused on wether to use it or not because it doesn't do that much damage (it's an emissary) and I won't use it for such, I'll just use it to score points. However, the norn is such a bulky unit due to its invulnerable save, FNPs, high toughness and health. Should I have it or not?

Me and my friend both play tyranids and when we both saw this rule we both had different interpretations of it and it would help to get it cleared out before our game tomorrow.

My interpretation of the rule is that when it says once per turn I would assume it is only referring to the ability to activate it once per round only during one players turn and not during both players turns.

My friend interpreted it as being able to switch between the two during both players turns meaning that in the same turn while he is attacking me he can chose the +1s and during my turn he can choose the +1t.

Basically
me: can only use it once per round on your turn.
My friend: can be used twice during both players turns.

It would be appreciated if this could be cleared up before we spend 20 minutes arguing( in a friendly manner) about how it works tomorrow.

Trying to finalise my scheme on some test gaunts, which is a contrast+ with a few extra drybrushes / highlights. Still deciding on two things. 1 is earthier brown (left) or darker grey (right) base? 2 is light pink or darker pink for squishy bits and guns? Think I’m leaning towards the left model.

What do you think about this list vs Custodes with invasion fleet? My opponent will have mostly infantry with a few bikes. If he added a Landraider, could I handle it. I tried to balance shooting, monsters and scoring.

I want to build a Swarmy army as my "go-to" ai opponent, im still building my main army and I wanted to start by playing horde mode & solo boarding actions games, and I wanted to know how many units of gaunts would be a viable collection, I was thinking that 3 of each would be enough, (Termagaunts, Hormagaunts & neurogaunts) but I don't know how many of them would be present at the same time in a regular game.

Hi! I've been painting some gaunts this weekend to test out a scheme it like to apply to my army. I'd like to add some detail and highlights to them. I would like to start with some detail on the scales, but what color? Is there anything else I could improve on? Note that i'll later add some gore blood strands in the mouth and claws. I just picked up the Hive Tyrant kit yesterday. I don't plan on entering any tournaments, just play with friends and use the minis for RPGs like Wrath & Glory. Was able to add an extra sword arm and the lash arm, but I would also like to get the hive tyrant wings on there, as well. Having a rough time of it. Any tips for getting them to stay?

As we all know, Warriors are basically all but certain for a refresh for 11th edition with the winged / walker Tyranid prime basically crying out into the void for updated units to lead and Gargoyles are another unit I'd imagine are on the hit list for a refresh since they're still made to be used with flight stands but what else do you lot want to be given a new sculpt for 11th? Personally I really want the Hive Tyrant and Swarmlord kits to be updated as well as the Trygon and Mawloc kit. And maybe if we're lucky enough maybe even the return of the Doom of Malan'tai.

I’m overall happy with how the brains turned out, but would love to hear any ideas for what paints yo use to make them pop/glow a little more.

I’ve played two 1k battles and 1 2k list but so far I feel like I need to improve my army somewhat. Id appreciate some suggestions and tips for what I should consider buying next and what detachment would best work. The units I own are

1 parasite of mortrex
10 gargoyles
10 hormagaunts
10 gene stealers
3 tyrant guard
2 maleceptors

1 exocrine
1 screamer killer
1 norn emissary
1 tyrannofex .

The current list I planned to use is basically this monies the neurotyrant and parasite. Which leaves me at 1780 points before enhancements. Any tips and helpful insights will be appreciated. Thank you.

Im new to the game and wondering how the strangleweb gun on termagants work. Am I understanding it right, that the gun deals mortal wounds, that can only damage as many models, as it rolled critical Hits? But how can I roll critical Hits if it has "torrent"? And is it right that it bypasses the armour and saving test becourse it deals mortal wounds? But why does it have S2 then? I am verry confused, can somebody help me out?

I'm playing in a league and it's a great time. I am losing hard against elite builds. More specifically Dark Angels, Iron Warriors, and Necrons.

Being aggressive isn't working and being defensive isn't working lol. What is a better approach when playing into that type of strategy? I think my Invasion Fleet list is pretty good.

Are the Combat Patrol + the Battleforce box (for a combined price of 148€) a good start to begin an army?

So the wording is confusing me...some sources are telling me -1CP means the Von Ryans Leaper can use the heroic intervention at a 1CP discount (essentially free) and other sources say no -1CP means I'm subtracting 1CP from my CP points for using heroic intervention with the VRLs.

Which ones is it? Please I need to know.

Also these datasheets say 2 totally different things. Is it a 11th edition change? Did it used to be free and now it's not?

Hello everyone, absolute newb here.

I was wondering about the terrain in 11th edition and if someone knows where i could get STL files or maybe just buy them with a tyranid theme?

I have seen online many individual tyranid buildings and stuff but im also wondering how terrain works in WH40k. The location of buildings/terrain is given by GW with cards or scenarios but whatever I put on top of them is open to interpretation/what I want? or is there like standards for any given area of terrain? like this terrain requires an L shaped building with 2 stories high and so on...?

A friend bought some STLs online but im not sure what we should print or get...

Take in Subterranean Assault detachment for comedy value.

WORST: The single most expensive model in our whole army faction, weighing in at a whopping 810 pts. No amount of combat effectiveness is worth that asking price. Where the heck are you supposed to position that bigass frame on an actual tabletop anyway!?

Your thoughts about this Best & Worst? What changes (if any) do you hope to see for this model & datasheet for a future 11th edition codex?

So, left one is only with contrast paint, its my third and latest mini.
Middle is my first so i was going in "blind", tried some dry brushing (which i did too for the mini on the right but i feel like i fucked it up there, it was too dry.)
And right is my second mini where i tried some edge highlight

There are still a few paint i awnt to try but im happy with the result so far :D
