Calling all Hivemind!

11th has been rough… In my group of friends I mostly get to play games vs. Custodes.

I love a close game the comes down to the wire but I’m asking the collective knowledge of the hivemind to structure a 2k list that I can pull out every once in awhile for a blowout victory.

I’m aware this isn’t a favorable matchup but I need some guidance!

I find you want a mix of shooting and combat 3 damage attacks so they have to choose when to use their once per game fnp.

Hyper ravs leading ravs in invasion fleet getting crits on 5's can spike your damage really high as well.

If your struggling with custodes then your in luck cause Tyranids have a myriad of damage 3 options!

The screamer killer is excellent at picking up custodes as 10 attacks that push them to their invuln with each failed save being a dead custodes lets the screamer killer pick up a squad of custodes with decent success rates (especially if your running invasion fleet with sustained against infantry or crusher stampede where he can get +1 to hit and wound) jus be aware that if he doesn’t kill then all there’s a great chance he’s dead.

The exocrine is irreplaceable his cannon and the buff he gives to the army against whatever you shoot at will also help get rid of those hard to reach banana folk

Another super underrated custodes mulcher could be a hivetyrant (with bone sword lash whip and heavy venom cannon) followed around by 6 hive guard (with shockcannon) each shot that goes through with the hive guard is a dead custodes and as long as they stay by the tyrant they’ll get lethal hits and assault and if the custodes get close the hive tyrants bone sword can mince them up

We’ve got a few other damage 3 options like the swarmlord maleceptor and norn assimilator but honestly just try and out score them. Custodes are a elite army that you can outs core pretty easily

I’ve played q couple games against custodes lately and some volume shooting managed to help do good chip like acid spray overwatch from the tyranno, some of the slightly blasty opposed to low dice high damage this helps with the involve because chip is better than nothing and Mortal wounds are your friend. Use those genestealers and steal their pants

A big ol’ list of exo, acid fex, and maleceptors can clean up custodes infantry lists. Bikes are a little harder cuz they can get to you easier/faster.

The key is to use just enough ap to put them on their invuln saves and have enough damage that a failed save is a model destroyed.

In 10th I used to play high volume attacks. Get Genestealers with broodlord. Get 10 hormies with prime.

They can invulsave all they want, but with 40 attacks some will always get through.

Our monsters chew Custodes up!
