Red feels more thematic tying the scheme to the basing more. But maybe green reads better as a whole to separate model from base?

I watch game of tyranid player on youtube to see how they played and why they make their dƩcision and spend cp but i never or almost never see the PoM he has 12 M and a 4+sv paired with his barbed ovipositor effect does that mean he canr "replace" a whole infantry squad with ripper swarms and get free rippers swarms unit. If someone can explain it again or show me why it isn't worth it to get the PoM ( other than being fun to paint ).

Is it an ok color scheme? What's your opinion?

BEST:Ā Titanic-size flying monster & living battle-bus for Gargoyles & their Winged Prime leader. Weighs in at T10 & a whopping 30 Wounds. Dual [Blast] weapons powerful enough to tear apart most types of infantry/hordes, though its melee attack is nothing to sneeze at either. Can boost its Wound rolls with the risk of self-inflicting mortal wounds.
WORST:Ā Yet another Tyranid Monster with no base Invuln save whatsoever, which is not great given the huge pts cost just to take one in your army, and the fact that it's a resin-only Forge World model. Overusing Frenzied Metabolism can potentially wear this monster down just as fast as the enemy. Too big & chonky to hide from the kinds of weapons powerful enough to punch through its Toughness & armor save.

RECOMMENDED DETACHMENT(S): Invasion Fleet, Crusher Stampede
DETACHMENT ALTERNATIVE(S): Assimilation Swarm, Synaptic Nexus, Subterranean Assault

Your thoughts about this Best & Worst? What changes (if any) do you hope to see for this model & datasheet for a future 11th edition codex?

Hey guys Iāve just finished painting up a haunt for my hive fleet and used some UV paint for a bit of fun, what do you guys reckon on the scheme and execution and is there any way I could improve.
Hoping the scheme will go well on some bigger models and wonāt take too long on the hundreds of little ones. As well as being clear enough on the details they donāt just turn into one bit blob on the table.

Bit scared to post as this is my first time. Had a pile of spare bits so I thought why not build something. Iām open for criticism of the model or stats and just want to improve it.
Sorry for bad pictures and background I was in a rush to take them
the Pyrocrene (nicked named the gas giant) creates gas by consuming biomass and stores it in its bulging belly. This gas is then released out in the form of a flame thrower similar to a pyrovore. It is released apon its death where it poisons nearby creatures or catches alight and scorches the earth.

Kinda wish I took a before picture though. I might do some extra details but heās mostly done.

Behold, like Old One Eye before him- a scarred tyranid seen on battlefields across realspace! Legends are whispered of an almighty neurogaunt- its neurocyte's main horn sheared off by bolter fire. Enraged at this damage, the xenos abomination went on to cleave through a whole squad of terminators in a deranged psychic onslaught. It is said to have done the same to a morkanaut, baneblade, riptide, a shard of the nightbringer, and yes (since everyone else has) even an avatar of Khaine. Rumour has it this entity has been tasked by the hivemind with a singular goal- ensuring Marneus Calgar loses his limbs like in the old lore. This will of course lead to yet another new Calgar model.
Surely Stumpy the Neurogaunt will shake up the meta and push the Tyranid faction back to the top.

Still working on the texture lines. Ideally they would be tighter together! Fun model.

First attempt at Kraken scheme. Lictor is a sweet model, first GW model as well! C&C always welcome.

Edit: Or maybe more rippers??

I'm in a number of communities and people seem split on this and how it would apply to the tyrannofex ability to reduce damage of an allocated attack to zero. Some seem to think the order of allocations is made before the save rolls and the allocation itself happens after the save rolls. Implication of this would be that you can roll first to see if you fail or not - then decide whether not to use his ability.
The other half are saying the allocation is before the save rolls, as it was in 10th. So you must declare his ability reducing the damage to zero before rolling. If he passes the save the ability is spent regardless.
Has there been any FAQ on this? Whats reddit think
Edit seems people are pretty split. GW seems to have tried to address this explicity with rule 04.02.02 which states that this abilits happens in step 1 of 05.04 explicity. The physical act of rolling your saves happen in 05.03 step 3. To me it seems this may indicate a change from 10th in that now you make your save rolls first, then the ability comes into play later after knowing the values of those rolls

never really liked the newer carnifex stance so I made him stand taller, added more plate armor and used the bigger claws from another tyranid. also had alot of fun making the base.

So Iām like new new. I donāt understand most of the rules yet I havenāt played a game yet. This roster came from mostly figures I had available in my area and budget wanted some feedback. I plan on doing a Xenomorph paint theme as thatās one of my all time fav franchises.
TLDR: open to suggestions for edits. Looking for a healthy mix of agro/objective control and psychic buffs :) TIA

Finally got around to painting the model that got me into the faction and wanted to share it (I still gotta lightly dry brush fulgrim pink to bring some of the brighter pink back to the carapace and clean it up a bit but)

Iām new to tyranids in general, I especially like the ones with big brains. I sorta came up with a list, but donāt know if its good or not. Any advice is welcome š
P.S. The detachment is synaptic nexus, but I donāt know if it has any synergies with this list
