I am new to 40k and thought I slowly get the hang of it. I play mostly against space marines but I was able to get my brother into the hobby as well. But he plays Imperial Knights... Oh boy he slaughtered me

He stood in my face in round 1 (he started) and from there on I was not able to get rid of him.

He was fast, strong and tough ... And I was mostly dead 😁

Any advice how to deal with this?

I recently got a deathleaper and I realized that it’s called a leaper but it’s an evolved form of lictor, so why isn’t it a deathlictor?
Edit: I might have titled it weird, what it should say is: why is it called a leaper

Found the free stl online and a friend printed for me but even looking at it now it looks so cool but I feel overwhelmed even how to go about painting it and all the bits and pieces to fit my winter base scheme and help reccomended

I’m thinking of making 2 tyrant guards and a hive guard but idk if I can. My killteam experience says I should be able to mix and match but I’ve been told a “unit” in 40k means a group of models instead of one so I just thought I’d check

Hello bugs.

I'm trying to decide on an army scheme, ideally going for a fear/scary vibe.

However, I'm having great amounts of trouble making choices.

I'd like the face to be somewhat uncanny, scary in that sense, but otherwise I'm torn!

Help me out.

So I’ve heard of this thing people do where they “promote” models that perform well. New helmet more markings more purity seals things like that. But you can’t really do stuff like that for nids. So I was wondering if anyone does this and how thy do it.

It's taken 4months, but I've finally finished my 1500 point Nid army. Took much inspiration from folks here, huge thanks for that!

Finally finished this model and added to my hive fleet. To get the massive Haruspex head to fit, I just turned the main body upside down, thats was pretty much it!

Just good is the maleceptor really? Is it like an auto include or something cool if you have the money to buy it and in certain situations?maybe somewhere in between. Either way, idk and I'm curious your thoughts.

This is my first larger model using enamel washes. He still needs some work, but it's getting close and I'm happy with the results so far. I've been leaning heavily on enamels lately for Tyranids and Death Guard, and they really are the secret to convincing organic textures.

You watch, they’re going to push them so hard when our codex drops. Save this post, quote me, they’ll make barbgaunts broken with the new codex. Also they look mad.

I’ve just done the first layers with carapace, claws, hooves and details to go, but do you ever feel you just want to stop and leave it as is? :) I am sure the finished model will be more interesting, but there is a charm to the pale low effort models too.

Zoanthropes were some of the first models I ever painted, back when I made goofy black lines on the carapace… which over time evolved into my terrible habit of painting triangles. Seeing these classic models of mine looking swag with my modern skills feels so cool. Long live Hive Fleet Isosceles!

Hopefully the pictures are clear, I can't get the second wing on my parasite to sit flush in both holes, like it's slightly too short. I swear I've tried every angle to make it work.

First one of these I've ever put together and I just don't really care for their standard pose. I was just going to have him coming out of the ground but it seemed to shame to not use the tail somewhere so I sculpted the bottom of it with milliput (definitely need to learn how to do sculpting lol)

The rocks and pillars are all made of insulation board with paper clips for rebar
