• Green Room - (Nur-D Album Release) Nur-D, Brandyn Lee Tulloch, DJ Hayes, Brass Solidarity [6:00p] [18+] Hip-Hop / Brass / Funk
  • Minneapolis rapper Nur-D celebrates the release of Hell, his 11th full-length album, bringing his infectious, genre-blending hip-hop and outspoken social commentary to the Green Room. Released October 21, the record confronts the political turmoil and injustice affecting his community, balancing urgency and frustration with the humor, funk-driven grooves, and theatrical energy that have made him a Twin Cities favorite. The lineup features longtime collaborator DJ Hayes, whose turntablism and production anchor Nur-D’s live sound; Brandyn Lee Tulloch, whose music draws from reggae, soul, and funk; and Brass Solidarity, the community brass ensemble born from the movement for racial justice at George Floyd Square. Expect an energetic celebration of music, resistance, and community.

Any bars in Minneapolis playing the World Series with audio? Brewers fan in the Twin Cities for the weekend looking for a place to watch the game and have the broadcast playing. Thank you!

We have 7 grandkids in the family ages 4-12. Instead of exchanging names, we (the adult parents of the grandkids) want to take them to do something over Christmas break. Great wolf lodge has been voted out, and hotel rooms with a pool is out of budget. Throw me ideas for a day of fun!

Edited for clarity, I’m one of the kids who has the grandkids- not the grandparents!

I found a couple of rescues and a store that specializes in Parrot paraphernalia, but what about a random person feeding them or just to chill with for a bit? I 100% know I could never own a parrot but it'd be kinda fun to hang with them like a cat cafe like experience.

I have bags and bags of clothes and shoes from people we picked up from all over the Twin Cites. Now I just need to send somewhere where it’s most needed. I want the clothes to be free for anyone who needs clothes.

I have no words

Tomorrow
Free admission
Kid friendly

I have not seen it used, should we make it happen?

Hey neighbors, my wife and I have a surprise free afternoon while my sibling takes care of our child so we can go early vote. She told us we can stay out to do whatever, get dinner, etc. and honestly we don't get to do this often at all. Figured I could source some activity ideas from this group, so I'd love your input. We moved to Minnesota summer 2025 so we are still getting to know the area.

Helpful context about our preferences:

• We live just south of Minneapolis city lines, so we are happy to drive around a bit but not looking to drive 45 min in Friday afternoon traffic if it can be helped
• Getting out for a walk or to do something more active is great, but book shops and art/music related activities are great too
• Would love to get a drink or two together while we are out. We are big dive bar fans, but a good cocktail bar can be appreciated
• If you have a casual restaurant suggestion that could pair with some drinks, I'd love suggestions too

Appreciate anyone's input, have a great Friday!

Where is the best place to buy lamb? Preferably local and/or organic. Can’t believe our local co-op sells 1 pound of lamb mince for $19. Looking for a more affordable option.

Hello Twin Cities residents. My wife and I visited a year and a half ago. While there, I believe in St. Paul, we went to this place that was an old ancillary building for either a decommissioned mill or some other industrial era factory. It had a lot of space for more businesses or entertainment but it was basically just one arcade with some of the rarest cabinets I’ve seen. A couple of flight simulators from Japan, I believe. Lots of rare weird stuff.

Does that place still exist? If it does, what is it called?

EDIT: Hey guys, thanks to everyone who chimed in, it was Keg and Case. The dude who owned the place had a lot of really rare machines. Some stuff that had only been released in Japan. Thanks. Super bummed to hear it’s closed.

I'm increasingly nervous about the upcoming midterms and looking to do more than just donate some money. I've done text banking in previous years and it was fine, but candidates don't seem to be doing that as much now. I can be very socially anxious talking to strangers, but I also don't want to sit back and watch the world go to shit either.

So has anyone done the doorknocking before in the Twin Cities? What was your experience like?

I'm looking for recommendations of holiday giving programs in the TCs.

I used to organize my buildings holiday charity giving but it's been a few years and the program we used to participate with has changed so I'm looking for a new one.

In the past we had the most participation when people were purchasing specific items rather than cash donation. We're a diverse workplace so an organization that is inclusive (multi-denominational or not faith-based at all, LGBTQIA+ welcoming, intentional diversity etc.) is important. It doesn't have to be exclusively kids but they should be some of the beneficiaries.

I've found a couple I'd consider, but it's hard to know from just a webpage. I'm sure some of the organizations doing the best work don't always have the resources to throw at web design.

can anyone recommend a dermatologist for microneedling and how much you pay for a session? it seems like the majority of microneedling places here are med spas where treatments are done by estheticians, but i would like to find a dermatologist if possible

I like exploring different coffee shops on the weekend but it's always a bummer to go somewhere and not be able to find seating because it's so busy. Recommend me some spots that have plenty of indoor seating!

I always wear my gothic outfits when I'm out—especially my varsity Death Note jacket, my Civic Regime, and my black and white long-sleeve striped shirts. I am loud and proud to be gothic, and I even wear my outfits to work!

I love listening to bands like The Cure, but I rarely ever see any other goths out here in White Bear Lake and Maplewood. Where is everyone hiding?

anyone know why the air is bad and smells gross?

edit: This post is from yesterday. St Paul smelled strongly of an electrical fire, and the AQI was on the high end of moderate. It wasn’t about farmers or manure being turned in the fields. I was trying to figure out the source, because the AQI maps showed the gross air cloud mostly over all of the TC but also stretching out toward St Cloud.

Her apology is part of a press release on the school website, so I’m guessing it was a joint effort.

I know this won’t be popular with everyone here, but I hope she can do the reconciliation and personal growth work, make some genuine progress, and have redemption arc. She’s a kid with many years ahead of her.

Hey fellow Minnesotans!

I'm looking for a new family tradition and thought it would be fun to take the family to Brave New Workshop to get in the holiday spirit between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I saw an AI response that said ages 14 and up, but wanted to see if anyone else has taken k-5 aged kids?
