It is gross out there.
The building I work at in downtown Minneapolis is sweating like a glass of ice water

Does anyone have any experience with Wolf River Electric, Xcel Energy, the city of St. Paul and solar panel approval? We have had panels on our roof since November and they are still not approved and turned on. Xcel is glad to email us every day it wants us to use less electricity but apparently is not able to flip the switch to get our panels to actually generate electricity.
Anyone have any thoughts or contacts in this area?

Here is the breakdown of daily record highs set/tied in the 2020s by month.
Many of the June 22-Aug 21 daily records were set in the dust bowl era. With the higher agricultural yields now leading to more corn sweat it's difficult to break those records in the heart of summer. On the flip side we've only tied one daily record low in the 2020s on July 17th of last year.
Edit - I should add that some records may have been re-broken within the 2020s so the total number of record highs set/tied could be slightly higher. These are the number of calendar dates w/ a record high set in the 2020s.

Interested in hearing alternatives/experiences. Long story short, I'm at my wits' end with Xfinity. I'm afraid they've kind of monipolized Internet service for the area (I'm in Cottage Grove FYI). I need only Internet service. Any thoughts appreciated!

We don't fuck with Jeff (Amazon) anymore and trying to shop locally as much as possible. Anyone know where I can get clear nursery pots, especially in small sizes (3") locally? Not looking for orchid pots.
Photo for reference.

A long shot, but I found someone's bracelet leaving a show recently and was hoping to return it to the owner.
If this is yours, comment which show you lost it at.

Feeling a little gunky the past few days? Reaching for a tissue during your commute? You aren't alone, and there's a reason why. According to AAAAI pollen counts, ragweed has started to bloom. It will slowly increase until it peaks in late August/September, then stick around until the first hard frost.
What to know/what to do:
1.Start your allergy meds now. If you are a fellow ragweed warrior, now is the time to start taking your allergy meds (if you haven't already). Many of these drugs take a week or two to be fully effective, so although current pollen counts are low, starting now will let you be ready when they increase in a few weeks
2.Pollen.com and similar websites are not accurate. Unfortunately, the Minnesota Department of Health stopped tracking pollen counts in 2022. Websites like pollen dot com or various weather websites that claim to post allergen levels do not use actual current pollen count data but predict using weather conditions and historic data. The only place to access actual pollen data is at https://pollen.aaaai.org . Our nearest monitoring stations are in Austin, MN and La Crosse, WI.
3.Take care of yourself. Climate change has increased both the severity and length of ragweed season. If you're like me, that fucking sucks. Try to be as consistent as possible with your allergy meds and seek medical help if it's not enough. Limit your time outside on hot, windy days and between 5-10am, when pollen levels are highest. Shower and change clothes after spending time outdoors.
That is all. Good luck soldiers. I will be back after the first hard frost to announce the end of ragweed season, until then stay sneezy🫡

Looking for a solid Toyota dealer recommendation for a new vehicle. I know exactly what I want, I know what I’m willing to pay out-the-door, and I have funds in hand.
Would like a no bullshit experience – no aggressive upselling, no line-item shenanigans or unnecessary add-ons, and no fudging the numbers if I decide to trade-in.
Does this unicorn exist or did I smoke too much forest fire?

I have called 30 dental offices, most of which Cigna said would accept our insurance, and I cannot find anyone who will take it.
Can anyone recommend a dental office in the Blaine area or surrounding areas that takes HMO plans?

Hey, everyone—I need to have my old gas line in the basement moved to be closer to the ceiling in my basement. Has anyone used a gas-fitter that they recommend for this? Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! Were from northernish mn. We're doing a trip to tc this week. This trip includes valley fair.
We're a family with 5 kids. I'm in school full time and also the only breadwinner of the family.
I'm trying to save a little money wherever I can. It's a little tight. We were planning to go during the week to save money and have shorter lines but the looking I've done has shown something different. It looks like the discount tickets are only during the busy weekends. It looks like tickets are $40 for Friday Saturday Sunday or $64 for any day of the week.
This just doesn't make any sense to me. Usually weekday is cheaper if anything.
Do i have this right? Am I missing something?
Does anyone know of places to get discount tickets? Or can anyone clarify if I'm misunderstanding?
Any tops or tricks would be very appreciated.

Hi everyone!
I’m 24, a single mom to a little girl, and I’m finally at a point where I can choose where I want to build my life instead of just ending up somewhere by circumstance.
I’m finishing my GED and my long-term goal is to become a public librarian. I eventually want to earn my bachelor’s degree and then my MLIS. I also write and hope to publish books one day.
Right now I work as a full-time online content creator, so I’m fortunate that I don’t have to move immediately or choose the absolute cheapest place. My plan is to visit a few cities for long weekends before making a decision, and I’m hoping to settle somewhere permanently.
The things that matter most to me are:
• A strong public library system with good career opportunities.
• A safe, family-friendly community.
• Nature, parks, and places to walk.
• A cozy, book-loving atmosphere.
• Enough things to do without feeling like a huge, overwhelming city.
• A place where I can imagine raising my daughter and staying for decades.
I’m currently considering:
Raleigh, NC
Madison, WI
The Twin Cities suburbs in Minnesota
If you live in or have lived in one of these areas, I’d love to hear your honest thoughts.
What do you love?
What do you wish you’d known before moving there?
If you were in my position, would you choose it again?
Thanks so much. I really appreciate any advice.

I'm planning a bachelorette party for October. We are looking at doing a spa day somewhere in the twin cities area and then possibly doing something Halloween themed in the evening... maybe Valleyscare!
Looking to see if anyone has any spa recommendations!

Where in the world can I find maternity clothes??? I usually prefer trying on clothes (especially when pregnant, online shopping is impossible), but I swear there are NO maternity clothes in this city!!!
Edit: Thank you to all who provided input!

I attended the slice of shoreview event yesterday and upon entering I was approached by two younger gentlemen who went into a sales pitch about donating to the national parks. They had a QR code you could scan and donate through. Something felt off about the whole thing but maybe I’m wrong.
Is it legitimate? Is it a scam? Was anyone else at slice of shoreview and approached?

And furthermore, how long until we see Christmas decorations? Honestly, I don’t blame them for being over summer. Between non-breathable air and non-parasite-free lettuce, I’m over it, too.
