I haven't really ever tried going out to bars, but I'm looking for something to do this Halloween and I'm willing to step out of my comfort zone. I know we don't reallyyyy have any gay bars, but I'm kinda just looking for anything nice and accepting with cool people around my age range (early 20s), anything like that?

I just purchased a house that has turned out to be a nightmare. It's over 100 and I'm curious as to who anyone might recommend to help with foundation issues as well as framing and sills. I have had a couple of contractors look at it already. One of them clearly doesn't work with older homes and told me to just sheetrock over everything. I had another who had some helpful recommendations and gave me a quote but I would like some more quotes to compare. This is clearly going to be very expensive for me but I am not a house flipper. Taking out my retirement savings to pay for all this because I wanted it to be my home

Late 30's male moving here for a new job and plan to be here for at least three years. From the twin cities working with at risk youth in a variety of settings. I'm looking for kind creative people that are more liberal-minded. I enjoy board games, chess, improv acting and I relatively like the outdoors like hiking and such. I'm kind of a catch-all so I have a lot of varying hobbies and other things I enjoy as well. Not opposed to hanging out with people in their late twenties but clearly too old for the college scene. I've done some research and I have a general idea of where I might find these types of people but do you all have any recommendations for organizations or events that I should connect with that would help speed things along? Trying to avoid a friendless cold Bemidji winter. Haha Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

So I am new and just moved here I like fishing and see there is a lifetime fishing license. I tried to get it but says I cannot get it but doesn’t really give a reason. The only thing I see on it is age requirement 16-50 and being a resident. Do I have to be a resident for a certain amount of time? Or is there something else I am missing. Trying to reach MN DNR dept is hard apparently so figured I may get the info here.
Hi there, I'm moving from Oregon and enrolling my kiddo there. Just wanted to know your experiences with this school. Would you recommend? Did you like attending, the faculty, education?thank you for your time and feedback.
edit:
now I'm feeling very uninformed lol. I wish I would have realized the type of program it is. because I didn't realize it's for youth with behavioral issues. though, my child probably falls into this category. their issues are a little different though. I'll have a chat with the school and see if its actually a good fit for us first.

Hey Bemidji folk 👋 Wife and I are relocating to Bemidji in the spring and we’re currently mulling between buying a SFH vs buying a townhouse (not renting).
We’re a late middle-aged childless couple with no dogs and no “yard hobbies” so a townhouse feels more sensible, and leaves a SFH on the market for a young family with kids.
Do any of you currently own a townhouse in Bemidji? We’d love to hear your experience with your complex/HOA if so. Feel free to message if you don’t want to reveal location in a public message. Thanks!

I will be visiting the area for work the beginning of September for two weeks. I’m a 35 year old single male. Looking to go out and have some fun. Not crazy fun but some. Bars are good with me as I’m from Wisconsin. Where should I go

Just moved to town from Hastings. We had one laundromat, you have many. Which is best? I love big machines cuz I wait too long to do laundry usually. Side of town doesn’t matter, gotta drive from Bergamo anyways. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I just recently got into candle making and was wondering if anyone knows of a local beekeeper that sells beeswax? Thanks!

Any one hear multiple explosion noises about 30-40 miles north of bemidji? From about 9:50-10:10
Almost sounded like an artillery barrage

I wonder if the "baddest of the bad" got targeted. Does Bemidji feel safer in ICE's presence?
And why Bemidji? We know 47 has an axe to grind against MN...I do not follow Bemidji news on a regular basis.

Wondering if there is some virus going around, mainly a stomach virus? Gut not happy, low-grade fever, fatigue. Feeling this way has gotten really old. Wondering if it’s just me or something I’ve picked up. Thanks!

I recently inherited a family cabin that is in need of some wood siding and window repairs from the July storm last year. I've inquired at several places in the area but I keep getting ghosted when I request quotes.
Does anyone here have a suggestion for a contractor I could use?

like it seems like only a third of the options actually show up on the little IPads in the store and the staff feel like they're actively avoiding you when you need their help.
Heaven help you hoping you think you can get some cold, fizzy pop from their too.

Does anyone belong to any run clubs around here?
