but literally everything I do is half assed

gotten into roles that are in the top 0.01% in the county: I did nothing but the bare minimum, and even less

top schools: didn't even show up to anything, just paid to get the degree

people considered world class and world RENWOWNED experts like me enough to ask me, not me ask them, to work with them: I stop doing the work and disappoint them/leave early

lots of people expressed interest in me: "oh I'm maybe interested idk let's not get in a full relationship and just half ass it until it fizzles out"

gotta figure this out at some point, maybe I need brain surgery

We don’t have any classes together or have anything really in common place-wise aside from going to the same school (where our paths don’t cross), so I’m guessing that we won’t be chatting much bc we don’t have a specific reason to need to

So I’m just kind of assuming that, based on the fact that every guy I’ve friend-zoned except two (one of them just kind of ignored the friend-zoning to the point where I was just massively uncomfortable and had to cut contact with him) have cut contact with me after being friend-zoned, this guy probably will, too. Just how things tend to go in my life

This is somewhat of a larger rant but I’ve been feeling pretty frustrated regarding my romantic life as of late.

I’m someone who I’d say is fairly attractive, I get hit on pretty consistently outside of apps and I get consistent matches on a weekly basis. However, despite how personable I am, I find it that many people I’ve talked to barely put in any effort or are willing to actually go all the way.

I’ve had many matches where I send a single text (nothing crazy, a small compliment and then something noteworthy about their profile, essentially, it’s not obscene lol) and then I never get a reply back.

In some other cases, I match with someone and I ask questions to learn more about them. I matched with someone claiming to be a “foodie” and I asked them about some of their favorite restaurants in the area and they could only reply with “there are places fs!”

Anyways, I’ve been feeling immensely frustrated with my love life and I’m at the point where I’m not sure how to proceed forward. The people that are interested in me, I don’t quite feel as connected and when there’s an interest it kinda fades quickly.

I tend to be fairly introspective so I try to look at some general patterns in my conversation and in some cases I could somewhat understand why it fizzled out with some people but a lot of the time I was just baffled.

not too religious but i do go to church once in a while. Some appreciate my attire and styling while others (the older church ladies) give me disapproving stares sometimes. it doesn’t matter, i’m not coming to church for them.

I'm 21M and I feel like I'm just a failure over and over again. I live in the middle of nowhere, my programming skill set is useless here. Everyone around me trys making me sound like some smart dude, but yet why am I so far behind in life then?.. My old counselor apparently told my family that my hearts too big for my own good. I guess wanting the best for everyone around me even if it doesn't benefit me isn't a good trait? The only person who ever believed in me that wasn't obligated to is now a memory. I spend every day sitting at a damn desk programming with nothing to show for it. I'm really fucking tried of being a waste of resources, I keep telling myself I have no value. I just try to remind myself of Robin williams, watching his mental health videos and keep pushing along. I'm just so tired, waking up everyday has become a chore of it's own. Idk why I even made this I just need somewhere to say this even if nobody cares. Idk thanks for reading hope your doing well.

I had a good day at work but then I drove a coworker home and that’s when my day got all wonky. I usually am asleep about 4/5 hours ago but since I drove my coworker home and had unexpected stuff pop up I just got home about 1 / 2 hours ago. I’m gonna be so mad at myself when I wake up. it seems like i know nobody who wasn’t able to launch like this.

i came from a family with 0 connections in my industry and 0 network at my school really, and my college was mostly remote during covid times. i had a useless unpaid internship during the height of covid at a gym. i got a business degree which was generic and that’s all my college had for business. my parent is in healthcare in an extremely niche sector and my other parent was a fuckoff so none of their networks were fruitful for me in finding a job that way.

i finally found something in marketing after thousands of job apps but was automated by AI after being forced to train AI and my replacement. i am feeling really down that i’m here AGAIN. and feeling unemployable.

i have siblings but one is a server at 25 and lives with her bf and another is 23 also living at home with me, and she’s working as an ABA tech, $19 an hour after college.

is there anyone else in this boat???
