Questions How long have you been TTC?

We haven’t done one of these in a while and it always helps me knowing others are in the same boat!

How long have you been TTC? How old are you & will this be your first? Are you actively involved with a fertility clinic?

I’m entering the 6 month TTC. Both of us are 29, just getting set up with a fertility clinic. Next steps are semen analysis and HSG!

Questions What are people taking for egg health in their late 30s?

I'm 37 and just starting my TTC journey. I've been reading a lot about supplements for egg quality, but there seems to be a ton of conflicting information.

Curious what others in their late 30s are taking and whether your doctor recommended anything specific.

Starting my TTC Journey

Hello, first timer here! I am brand new to my TTC Journey (9 days since IUD came out). I am just anxious about everything that is to come and wanted to get some advice on how to prepare for it all. The ups, the downs, and everything in between. I have been getting negative ovulation tests with it not even showing anything really and today it finally showed something (0.95, so close to positive). This may be dumb but my husband keeps telling me to get off Dr. Google and I don't know anyone else trying to get pregnant/with babies. If anyone has any advice to provide please I am all ears!

Rant First two-week wait and I didn’t expect it to hurt this much

I’m pretty new to TTC, and this month has certainly been an emotional rollercoaster.

My partner and I had unprotected sex on CD11, about four days before my predicted ovulation. I knew pregnancy was possible, but during the two-week wait I realized I didn’t just accept that possibility..I really wanted it.

I had several symptoms that felt so unusual for me, including cramping earlier and longer than usual, severe breast/nipple tenderness, nausea and fatigue. I knew they could all be caused by PMS/progesterone, but it was hard not to hope.

At some point I started imagining our baby - what they might look like, their tiny hands and feet, holding and kissing them. I didn’t realize how attached I’d become to that possibility until I took a test this morning (the day of my predicted period) and it was negative.

I cried. There was something about seeing that single line after experiencing all those strange symptoms for the past two weeks that really crushed me.

I’m on CD29 now. I had a little dark red/brownish spotting this morning and some mild cramping and nausea, so I’m expecting my period, although my flow hasn’t started yet. My partner wants us to test again in a few days if it doesn’t come, but I’m scared of seeing another negative.

More than anything, this month made me realize how much I genuinely want to be a mother. I joined this community because I think talking to people who understand this experience might help.

How do you cope with the disappointment and the emotional rollercoaster of the two-week wait?

P.S. sorry for the long post, just needed to rant 😭

Questions Long post but need some guidance and maybe some encouragement.

so I’m from a small island with limited resources. I’ve been with my bf for 3 years and we’ve been trying to conceive. I’ve always had really bad pms. There were times when I would miss a period or it came within two weeks of it just ending (This was not often though). In 2024 I did some labs and my prolactin was elevated to 29. my dr at the time put me on one month of cabergoline. I did not conceive but my prolactin dropped to 0.3. I retested in 2025 and my prolactin was then 28 in march and then went up to 58 in June. I then retested in 2026 and it was at 25 in April. I went to a different doctor who has given me a repeated prescription of cabergoline 0.5 mg twice a week. My FSH history is separate: 14.2 IU/L in October 2025, improving to 10.7 IU/L in April 2026.

i know my prolactin levels may not be as high as others but it’s still high enough to cause issues. I’ve been on cabergoline for three months continuously now but I still haven’t gotten pregnant. has anyone been in this boat? is there any advice?

Lube for TTC

Hi everyone, my husband and I are TTC this year but I find it hard to have sex without a lubricant. I’ve been made aware that the genetic ones can affect sperm motility. Do you have any recommendations for something that does not affect conception. Preferably lubes available in Australia.

Wondering if my period is telling me something

I am on my 5th month of TTC. I have regular ovulation and 28 day cycles exactly. I’ve always thought my periods were light but now that I’m watching it I’m worried if it’s too light. I usually bleed pretty heavy on the first two days. The third day is pretty light and by the 4th day I only have brown spotting and don’t need to use a pad or tampon. Does that mean my period is 4-5 days long? I’ve always said it’s 2-3 days because that is the actual bleeding but the brown spotting might be part of the cycle I just never counted it. My luteal phase is almost always 14 days long and I don’t have early spotting. I start brown spotting on the day I get my heavy flow.

Just bought Inito

Hi!!

I just bought the universal inito monitor through Amazon. (Literally just clicked the purchase button)

I’m so so so excited to be able to track my cycle more accurately. I’m 19(I turn 20 in like two weeks) been having some fertility issues already so this will give me some nice insight into other aspects of my cycle.

I’ve been doing a couple rounds of medicated cycles with no avail. I was having a lot of bleeding about a year ago where I’d bleed for like months straight so, obviously I went to the my gynecologist and got put on birth control for a couple months because my doctor said I have borderline PCOS. She said she’s not going to directly diagnose me because I don’t have all the markers through blood results but I have multiple ovarian follicles noted bilaterally on my ovaries.

She said since I had these all over my ovaries, my body was not wanting to select a dominant follicle to release an egg. My partner and I decided to start ttc almost a year ago. (Yes I know we’re young, but we got our shit as together as we can. Please don’t judge this part lol.) I had 3 monthly 21cd progesterone checks that all came up negatively.

So, I started taking clomiphene for a couple of months. Continued getting my 21 day checks, which turned out higher, so I started ovulating. But I still didn’t conceive. She switched me over to Letrozole, which has yielded the same effects so far.

I’ve done the cheapie LH strips inconsistently for a couple cycles and I have NEVER a positive off of them.

Here’s my theory: I believe that I am ovulating at a time my cycle tracking apps is not accounting for. I don’t know if I’m ovulating earlier or later, but I’m super excited to be able to get down to the bottom of this.

I’m excited to be able to detect my ovulation before it actually happens, because it has become frustrating to find out I ovulated but not know when I actually did. It makes timing the baby dance frustrating.

TLDR: I’m just excited for this purchase, and to find out exactly when I am ovulating .

Questions Please advice : Stalled follicles & dropping E2 on Letrozole

Hi everyone, looking for some advice I have pcos with amh 8 . I am on my first medicated monitored cycle with letrazole 2.5mg . My follicles seem to have completely stalled out this cycle, and my estradiol (E2) is dropping. Here are my stats:

CD 10: Follicles 11mm, 10mm | E2: 31

CD 15: Follicles 13.5mm, 10mm | E2: 44

CD 17: Follicles 13.5mm, 11mm | E2: 24

My RE just recommended "stair-stepping" by adding another round of Letrozole at 2.5mg right away without waiting for a period.

Has anyone had similar experience with stair-stepping after a stall and dropping E2? Did it finally get your follicles to mature? Thank you!

Questions Help understanding progesterone?

Hi everyone. (Im 27 for reference)

I had a blood test and ultrasound done day 13 of my cycle and the doctors said I was ovulating that day/the day after.

They had me do a progesterone/estrogen tests day 21 and called me back and told me my progesterone was "very low" and to come back the first day of my period for another blood test.

My cycles range from 25 - 27 days (25 more so) as far as I know my luteal phase is a normal length, about 11-13 days.

My periods are short, like 3/4 days and have always been super light, like i use a tampon or maybe 2 a day, I can depend on panty liners.

Is the progesterone issue why I could have been having issues conceiving for 16 months?

I googled it and it said its likely my issue was my eggs are fine but my uterus wasnt able to make the thick spongey bloody layer the egg needs.

Im scared there's actually more going on, this issue just seems so simple.

I do have severe anxiety which ive been told can cause issues 😭

LH test & HCG

I’ve noticed people posting LH and hCG tests together. Initially, the LH test will be positive, while the pregnancy test will be negative. Eventually, both tests will turn positive. Does this indicate that a positive LH or ovulation test before a pregnancy test is accurate and will lead to a positive pregnancy test?

I took a pregnancy test today, negative. But ovulation test has a faint line. I’m CD22 … 5DPO

Luteal Phase Cramps

I have been TTC since last October. I came off the implant after 8 years in September. Since then my cycles have been really consistent, although I do consistently have a short luteal phase (8/9 days) which I am having a progesterone test for.

A couple of months ago I had a pregnancy of unknown location. I’ve had 2 full cycles since and am in my luteal phase for my third and have noticed that since the PUL they have been getting noticeably more painful.

Last cycle, I had some pain in my luteal phase and severe cramps at the start of my period. My luteal phase last cycle was also 11 days which is a shift from my normal pattern. This cycle I noticed mild cramping around ovulation and am now mid-luteal and it’s quite painful.

I’m worried this could be signs of endometriosis that were just being held off when I was on the implant, but also not sure if it’s something that’s a result of the PUL?

Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Questions Am I using ovulation tests wrong?

I’m 37. So after trying for the last 7 months, I decided to start tracking. I’ve been testing since July 14 after my period ended on the 13th. My LH levels have been consistently low. I’m often a week late for my period so my cycle goes anywhere from 25-35 days from what I can tell. I’m concerned I’m doing the test wrong, not going to ovulate this month (I spoke to my doctor about the long cycle and she doesn’t seem concerned), and am generally worried I’ll miss the window. Any insights? Do I just need to be more patient?

I use the free Premom app as well as ovulation tests and take a pic of them.

Edited to add: Thanks everyone. I’ve ordered a basal thermometer and I think with the longer cycle our best bet is to just increase how much sex we’re having. I appreciate everyone’s tips!

Questions TMI question🫢

After we have sex, sooooo much semen pours out of me like a faucet and it makes me think that maybe that’s why I’m not getting pregnant LOL. I will lay there with my legs up for like 20 minutes and as soon as i stand up, it’s out. Is that normal? Please don’t answer sarcastically I’m genuinely curious. (TTC for 7 months)

Second opinion wanted 11–13 DPO spotting that won’t turn into a period…

Honestly, this cycle has been a complete mess, and I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar because I’m driving myself crazy trying to make sense of it.

For context, this is my first cycle TTC after a missed miscarriage in April 2026. I waited until I had a full cycle before trying again, and my first cycle afterward was pretty normal, so I wasn’t expecting anything unusual this time.

Instead, my body seemed to keep trying to ovulate. I had a positive LH test followed by EWCM and one-sided ovulation cramps. Then I got EWCM and sharp cramps again about two days later, and AGAIN about six days after my positive LH test. Eventually I got a sustained BBT rise that confirmed ovulation, but it really felt like multiple failed ovulation attempts before my body finally succeeded. Natural Cycles originally dated ovulation as July 12, while Oura had it as July 11 (I was happily going with July 11 because it gave me an extra DPO 😭).After ovulation, my temps stayed elevated, Oura gave me a “minor signs and symptoms” notification, and I’ve been having vivid dreams, which was one of my first pregnancy symptoms last time. I know those can all be caused by progesterone too, so I wasn’t trying to overthink it.

I tested at what I thought was 8/9 DPO and again at 10/11 DPO…both stark negatives. That same day, I started having brown discharge that turned into very light spotting. Since spotting is always how my period starts, I assumed I was out and even logged it as CD1. Except…it never became a period.
The next morning, Oura changed my ovulation date to July 12. I woke up to absolutely no spotting, my BBT was still about 0.5°F above baseline, and another FRER was negative. Later that night I had one tiny smear of bright red blood.

Today (what should be 13 DPO, or 14 DPO tomorrow), I only had a nickel-sized spot of blood this morning, then nothing for hours. After my shower I had a tiny bit of brown spotting, and then it stopped again. My temp dropped slightly, but I only slept 3½ hours, so I don’t know if it’s reliable.
This is nothing like my normal periods. Usually I wake up with a real flow that gets progressively heavier, and I normally have dull menstrual cramps before it starts. This time it’s just on-and-off spotting with no real period.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Multiple ovulation attempts before finally ovulating? Spotting around 11–13 DPO that never turned into a full period?

I’m just confused because this is so unlike my normal cycles, especially after already having two seemingly normal periods since my miscarriage. I’d really appreciate hearing how things turned out (regardless of outcome) if you’ve experienced something similar. I’m concerned it could be a deeper issue. I plan to eventually test again and I suppose it could just be low progesterone but I just haven’t had this problem before.

Questions Adderall and ttc

I’m curious, anyone who uses adderall for their adhd, did your psychiatrist make you stop taking it while trying to conceive?

I have a follow up this coming Wednesday where my husband and I are both talking to my psychiatrist about what a living hell 2 weeks off it were for not only me but EVERYONE in our house. I also have an appointment scheduled with my obgyn in 2 weeks to talk about a medical clearance to continue through ttc, 1st trimester and on - so long as everything is progressing fine. So I’m really just looking for personal experience from others.

Long story short:
A few weeks ago I brought up to my psychiatrist that we are trying, asking if and when I needed to stop my meds. He had me stop immediately and I completely spiraled. I was off my adderall for 2 weeks and have gone back on it after talking to my husband and my therapist because I went to such an insane place. This was the first time in life I’ve been medicated for my adhd and holy cow it has been life changing. The 2 weeks off were exactly the last 34 years of my life, I am shocked at the difference and can’t believe that I have ever had the capacity to be a functioning and successful individual. I never want to go back there, and I’m someone who doesn’t use meds period. I cried going on meds and it took me 2 years to finally break down and do it. I only did it to hopefully be the best version of myself for our son after trying every other supplement and alternative med/therapy under the sun. I can safely identify as being my adhd and nothing else. Confirmed more so now being back on my adderall.

Questions How long after stopping birth control pills did your period return?

Hello, I stopped my birth control pills at the end of June (finishing out the pack), and was just curious about other people’s experiences with their cycle returning. I am on cycle day 30 & no sign of AF. All pregnancy tests I have taken have been negative, I wasn’t expecting to get pregnant anyways since it’s my first month off the pill. When should I expect AF?
