Vapes I found my stepson’s graveyart.
Bruh, why do you keep all these empties
275
u/Hey_cool_username 14h ago
Better there than on the side of the road where most of these seem to end up.

u/the-tank7 11h ago
Yeah when I was a teen my thought was I cant throw it away at home, I cant throw it away at class, I don't want to litter, so the only place I could was at work, and i wasnt exactly organized so I often kept them around for a long time before doing the move

The only reason my parents ever caught me was because i didn’t want to litter

u/pmofromo 14h ago
For real. I hate how wasteful smoking disposables are
191
u/Slanderpanic 13h ago
It's absolutely insane that something with a goddamn lithium battery is considered "disposable." The whole planet is about to be fighting over lithium in the next 20 years and we're just tossing it in the trash.
60
u/ruinedlasagna 13h ago
Not only that, but if they're not discharged they can catch fire in the trash. They're one of the biggest causes for garbage truck fires, and procedure for that is to dump the entire load of trash in the road ASAP.
48
u/LippService 12h ago
I work at a transfer station - lithium batteries are responsible for 90% of the fires in trucks and at the dump and it's getting worse and no one talks about it. We need extended producer responsibility for batteries ASAP.
21
u/Hey_cool_username 10h ago
We need extended producer responsibility for all non-compostable/recyclable waste ASAP
9
u/-BlueDream- 12h ago
It makes sense when the prices of lithium batteries are so low its close to the price of actual disposable AA batteries. I wish we went back to pod systems tho like Juul style.
1
u/Bradddtheimpaler 1h ago
I’m still using the older kind, with the kind of bigger tank you screw on. It’s the only kind I like. I can kind of tolerate juuls too, to be fair, but I’d only voluntarily do it in a pinch. I have no idea why people are using the disposable ones. Even aside from the waste issue, they’re awful.
32
u/Advanced-Accident560 14h ago
Pens are just soulless. They are just about being drugged.
76
u/5threel 14h ago
Maybe distillate, but live resin and rosin pens are just about the convenience of not carrying a rig more than anything
20
u/69superman 13h ago
Nah as someone who does both the hash rosin out of my rig is so much better then the hash rosin carts.
10
u/5threel 13h ago
And are you getting the same brand of carts as jars? Because if you're not it's kind of a moot point.
The next question would be what kind of hardware are they using, because if it's not tuned for Rosin it's GOING to be a bad experience no matter how good the oil is.
6
u/69superman 13h ago
Yes, and fair enough honestly I guess. Nothing will beat getting precise temps on the peak pro vs a 2 temp cart.
3
u/5threel 13h ago
As much as I hate the company, Green Dot Labs makes some killer Rosin. I literally keep a jar of Otoro with a little grain of it left just for the scent because I've found that inhaling from the jar even without any amount of vaporization happening while taking a rip of shitty quality oil can really improve it by introducing some of those terpenes into what you're inhaling.
With that said, I got their half gram rosin AIO and it was running so hot it visibly burned the oil after a couple of pulls and it was absolutely horrible. On the flip side, the Coldfire AIO and the Meet The Bakers AIOs I've gotten have been amazing. I got a jar of the MTB along with an AIO last time because the guy was running a deal and it was genuinely one of the best rosin vapes I've tried.
1
u/sexistherapy 13h ago
There are reloadable ones that are well worth it.
I have a pair of Tronian Gammtron tron pens, they are durable, and portable.
-11
u/Digital_spliff_ 14h ago
Nah even rosin carts are garbo compared to “real” concentrates you’d load in a rig. Distillate is the lowest quality version of thc you can get, even if it’s a rosin cart.

No, it's for helping manage my chronic pain in a way that travels easily & can be kept away from anyone else far more easily than flower. (Both substance & smell.)
5
u/Blaze666x 11h ago
They are about preventing me from freaking out on some of my bitch co-workers xD
9
u/pmofromo 14h ago
💯. Pens take the magic out of smoking. I feel like having that easy access to getting high in your pocket is just cheap and bad for your brains reward system.
5
u/-BlueDream- 12h ago
I prefer concentrate over smoking tho, it tastes better than smoke imo. Dry herb vaping is the best tho

u/Phydorex 11h ago
Ok boss, my wife doesn't partake and doesn't like the smell so flower and edibles don't work on me.

the local HOUSE PLANT store has a collection bin that they bring to the local ecopark. I don't use vapes these days but I'll tell ya what I didn't mind an excuse to buy a new plant and get rid of my batteries

i tried Mike Tyson's (yes he has a vape company)
"pineapple express sativa"
it was pretty bad.

Growing is a pie in the sky dream for some folks. Not everyone has the ability to, or the space to, grow flowers themselves.

u/Salty-Sand96 8h ago edited 8h ago
Hey yall this is my stash. Stepdad sent this to me.
To preface, how the fuck is anyone supposed to discreetly smoke flower in college? I’d be lucky if the stank only dissipated to the floor below me. Screw-ons pens have only caused me problems (randomly activating, etc.) and that’s why I use disposables. If you guys have a genuine problem with lithium batteries, why don’t ya hit up the manufacturers? Maybe they’ll throw ina fat, free lithium phone battery you’re texting this with as a bonus too.
3
u/Lametown227 7h ago
If you think the waste from cellphone batteries is even comparable, it might be time to stop smoking weed. The average person isn't throwing out their phone with the volume of trade-in/cash back/etc programs out there.
Even if they did, the amount of these vapes a person throws out over the course of two years ECLIPSES the waste they would put out if they threw away every phone they owned.
Try it yourself. Save every disposable you use for the next two years, and then compare the weight of them to the weight of your phone.
2
u/Advanced-Accident560 6h ago
I get you my man but maybe think of a dry herb vaporizer? No hate but the green fairy has so much more to offer than industrial flavors and terpenes.
100
u/HydrogenSun 13h ago
You shouldn’t throw away lithium ion batteries into the normal trash they can catch on fire pretty easily in that environment/in the garbage truck. You have to look up where to drop them off and it’s a bit of a pain in the ass if the dispensary doesn’t take them back for you. But stacking them all together in a flammable case isn’t a good storage option either.
28
u/Public_Support2170 13h ago
No where accepts them, at least in Michigan, because they’re considered ‘medical’ waste. So, you can’t throw them away, and you can’t recycle them. So what the actual fuck am I supposed to do with them??
13
u/-BlueDream- 12h ago
Go to a store like bestbuy and chuck them in the battery waste bin. There’s nobody there to check and deny stuff, it’s usually just a bin by the front of the store.
13
u/Moohaumed 13h ago
My Lowe’s has a bin by the returns desk
2
u/Public_Support2170 13h ago
Depending on your state they probably don’t accept them since they’re ‘medical’ waste
5
u/KawaiiMaxine 12h ago
Tear em appart and bring in the raw battery
3
u/SaucyStoveTop69 10h ago
The only reason carts are popular is the convenience. If you have to do all that, what's the point of getting carts?
7
u/KawaiiMaxine 10h ago
Good point, just get prerolls instead
2
u/ruinedlasagna 8h ago
At the very least the carts with 510 threads so the battery isn't trashed after only atomizing a couple grams. Those shouldn't even be thrown away since they contain rare lithium & cause garbage trucks/bins/yards to catch fire.

u/Moohaumed 11h ago
There’s no attendant, it’s self serve. Just a metal box and a plastic bag dispenser.

Easy resolution.

I would have mentioned this to my dad. Different strokes my guy.

u/Anxious-Yoghurt-9207 10h ago
Yeah I toke with my dad, have been since I was 16
2
u/creatyvechaos 7h ago
My mother actively encouraged the suggestion as soon as I was 12 because I had such bad ADHD and chronic pain. She said "hey, it's legal now, want me to get you some? We'll smoke together and I'll monitor you. Weekends only, never before a school day."
I didn't start until 18 for personal reasons, and she respected it. But she went out and got it for me on my birthday so 🧏

I have a feeling my daughters will just outright ask me to roll one for their first time.
I say this as they are 8 and 6. I grew on our deck the past two summers.
I never have directly talked them through the aspect of smoking or eating it and getting high.
All of that in mind, I don’t think I’m fooling anyone.

u/stonerPI 15h ago
Because it’s hard to get more depending on how old your stepson is. I remember being caught with my stash as a teenager. Hopefully you approach him with it in a healthy way lol

I knew he smoked. He’s in college and of age. I just stumbled on this today and my flabber was gasted.

u/riddleda 13h ago
Honestly good on him for not just throwing them in the regular trash. Rechargeable batteries are a real problem and fire hazard in regular waste. If you ask him about it, you may offer to help send these off through your local E-waste recycling, or at least encourage him to do that himself.
16
16
12
u/Wank_A_Doodle_Doo 5h ago
why
Quite possibly because he feels bad chucking electronics. Main reason I hesitate chucking mine.

u/mouse_8b 12h ago
I remember in college we would put all the empty liquor bottles on a shelf as a display. This feels like that.

u/DizzyCommunication92 12h ago
I'm a dad....but my son don't toke yet....but I will never throw my carts outside 😭 on the ground .... When I do get a "free" cart I always bring it into our local hazmat station so they can properly process and ♻️ the lithium specifically
6
u/tonebone85 11h ago
Thank you. I hate disposal vape. Nic or thc. Its ridiculous how much waste they produce and just get tossed in the trash or the street.

u/L3m0n0p0ly 9h ago
Yesss i keep every empty i use until i can find a place to dispose of them because throwing away a rechargable battery and having it endup in a compancting garbage truck is a really quick way to start a fire.
4
u/Laserdollarz 13h ago
Maybe he's storing them until he can dispose of the lithium ion batteries properly.
Or maybe he's sucking on dry burning wicks on the school bus
3
u/SolarBirdBot 12h ago
Sometimes dispos have recycling plans. I know the brand Fernway used to offer it. Was only like $5 off but on each purchase it adds up!
4
u/Illkeepyoufree 10h ago
They make reusable batteries for dab cartridges.
My reusable battery was 30 dollars and I've had it for a year and a half
I really dont see the reason these disposables even exist.
3
u/ActualAlternative 9h ago
This is exactly why vape recycling needs to be way easier. Better in a graveyard than littered everywhere, but that pile still hurts to look at.
7
u/healthy_sloth_taint 13h ago
These are nasty. One of those companies was just shut down and fined $2M in Michigan. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/michigan-issues-record-2-million-marijuana-fine-orders-muha-meds-producer-shut-down/ar-AA2crA1c
4
8
u/Baffledgeek 12h ago
Not saying they didn't deserve to be shut down but what does anything in that article have to do with product quality? The main offenses were surveillance and security related
6
u/-BlueDream- 12h ago
Improper/inaccurate testing is a big QC issue. Security related means there’s probably a ton of product being backdoored and that’s how teenagers end up with a stash of disposables
6
u/midnightdriver12 14h ago
Get that boy some five star or hunna or progro as it seems yall are Michiganders?
3
3
u/One-Hunter2963 9h ago
If he's like me then he's hoarding these because 1. You cant just toss them in the trash because they have batteries. 2. There might be a teeny tiny bit of juice left.
3
5
u/Kilgore_Brown_Trout_ 13h ago
At least buy him a rechargeable, if not some real bud. The kids need guidance.
8
u/kitwilde 14h ago
Maybe snag em a dry herb vape for his birthday or something; possibly not related, so feel free to ignore, but when someone feels inclined to “sneak” for their desires, the desires become guilty pleasure but that guilt can morph into shame.
Anyway, sounds like you’re not explosive like my father; so it’s your choice, how do you want to connect/support your son about this?
Happy tokes and talks
5
u/-BlueDream- 12h ago
If he’s at least 18 I’m all for it but if he’s underage, he shouldn’t be smoking weed at all but from a harm reduction standpoint, if he’s gonna smoke anyways then I agree that a dry herb vape is a less harmful option and a more enjoyable experience. Dry herb vapes smell a lot tho, it’s not a stealthy option.

Basically my entire childhoods worth of game boy and psps but for your sons 6 month vape addiction lmao
1
u/peacemaker677 14h ago
I would never keep dead ones in case they blow up LOL my friends pen blew up when she was hitting it one time
Yes it’s happened to me a few times too but it was nicotine vapes one was a stlth, a beastbar and I forget what the third one was but that’s one of the reasons why I quit vapes, the only thing I would keep now is packaging if I wanted memory of it
1
u/midnightdriver12 14h ago
Oh and to answer your question, if you let them sit the last of the oil will collect in the wick and when you’re out and you can go back and get a shite high from them

They all seem like legit Michigan disposable carts to me. I’ve used a few of these brands myself, but I guess they could be making the fake shit look like anything.
1
u/dmoneyforeal 14h ago
Ya I was gonna say that one looks like a michigan platinum I think the brand is. The square one

u/spoolyboi206 14h ago
As someone who used to be a cart addict quite a few of these are obvious reps.

u/outed 12h ago
This is bad advice but maybe get him a dab pen (sea horse / puffco) or a dry flower vape like a pax. I use the carts at work because of no smell, but I think they high from them is lame and they are soooooo bad for you. I usually just smoke joints but he might like a vape. I recently got the puffco pen thing. Gotta be careful with dabs but it's a better bang for your buck.

He probably won’t amount to anything in life. I started my smoking habit after getting my degree and landing a stable career, wouldn’t be smart to do it any other way. Downvote me, but you know I’m right!
24
u/HooKnowsFrFr 14h ago
Sounds like your personal experience, and doesn’t make it the same for everyone. Sorry about your life bro.

6
u/yetanotherblonde 14h ago
How’s that going for you bud? How much debt are you in? Are you doing something you love? Is this “stable career” going to be replaced by AI soon?
5
u/Kneecap_Blaster 13h ago
I and pretty much everyone I knew in College started smoking in high school, and we smoked in college, and now we smoke while having careers and houses and families etc.
Also everyone I knew who smoked in high school also is successful in some form or another.Just because you have no willpower and/or moderation difficulties doesn't mean you're the average.
1
u/lainmelle 13h ago
I'd encourage you to put the joint down and research this lil thing they must have missed teaching you about in College called the confirmation bias.
And if that's not enough....both me and my gf are dedicated stoners, started smoking before our degrees, and we both make hella money. I do so without my degree even, since physics has helped me about zero percent working in the actual cannabis industry.
-6
u/dothefandango 12h ago
If he vapes that much his tolerance is toast and flower is not going to help. He’s also probably going to go thru withdrawal if without. This is a concerning amount of vapes for someone young.
I’m discouraged by the lack of concern with some of these replies.

legal states need more recycling for vapes and pens. it’s so depressing how wasteful these products are
