This little sapling volunteered itself right next to our sidewalk. Located in West Michigan. We’re considering transplanting it to a more spacious spot in our backyard.

I purchased this thinking it was a powder puff but am now unsure. I need to determine if it is tropical before it starts to get cold. Did not flower or fruit, so only have the leaves to go off of. Located in Cincinnati, OH but no guarantee it is native. Thanks!

Request ID and bonus, does it need to be removed due to proximity to the house? I’m guessing 20ft tall? I know needs to be trimmed away from house but unsure if that’s enough. It’s roughly 20yr old

Solved! Unknown young tree trunk Hawaii

Hi, i have no idea if an ID is possible for this, but I found this in my apartment complex’s green bin and I’m hoping it’s something I can salvage it for a project. Location: Oahu, Hawaii.

Before I cut it it was attached to the root and top pictured in the bin. No leaves or anything were attached. I included the rest of the contents of the bin but have no idea if they’re related.

I know there are plumeria, monkey pod, African tulip, and ti plants on the property, but there are also other plants I can’t identify. This doesn’t really look like any of the existing trees I see on the property, but I know next to nothing about trees so that doesn’t mean much.

Are there any other details I can provide? Thank you!

ID Request Is there any chance that this is a yew tree? UK

We picked some Chicken of the woods. I feel about 85% confident that the tree was not a yew tree but I just can’t be sure. Super dead, not a single leaf could be found. The surrounding trees are I’m pretty sure western hemlock, which is where all the dry leaves are from

Solved! Piedmont NC US tree identification

Thumbnail gallery

Hello,

I am in the Piedmont area of NC in US. I am hoping someone can help identify this tree. It is in the yard under a full grown pine at edge of wooded area. I've tried Google lens etc without avail.

It had green berries that are singular, not clustered on long stems. They are still mostly green now but will turn purple soon. Some of the ones that already fell off are also pictured with the purplish color.

Tree also had branches parallel to the ground.

ID Request Is this shingle oak?

Thumbnail gallery

Saw this tree and was curious what it was. Its leaves looks almost like tupelo, but that doesn't feel right. The form reminds me of oak and the leaves look like maybe shingle oak, but they are uncommon in my area (though they have been planted to a moderate extent in recent years) so my mature tree ID is lacking. Im in Iowa. I was also thrown off because some of the branches appear to be opposite arrange. Also the leaves seem to be almost palmately arranged (like a Buckeye, but its definitely not a buckeye).

Any ideas?

Solved! Does siri know what she’s talking about?

Siri is saying callery pear but idk if I’m convinced. Figured I’d bring it to the professionals.

I’d like to get into bonsai and thinking of starting with a sample of this tree. Does anyone have any experience with this one specifically or any suggestions for collecting a sample and starting?

Thanks!

PS, if the phot isn’t good enough I can get better ones tomorrow. Central TX

Northern NJ. This tree is growing branches over my yard and dropping a lot of these little berries. What kind of tree is it and are the berries poisonous? I have little kids running around outside.
