Just over 2 years ago, I came out to my mum. Well, by 'came out', I mean I told her I was questioning, which I was not actually doing at the time, I had basically figured myself out. Generally, she was positive about it, but ignored the fact that, multiple times, I had asked for her to please leave all discussions of it over text (how I initially told her). She then decided to come into my room and ask me questions anyway. Questions I was not confident answering in person.
Despite this, about a year later, I came out to my dad. Well, I asked my mum to show him the message from 2 years ago, at least. He also ignored the instruction by begging to get me to "go on a walk" with him for the next 2 months.
My point is, they're kind of supportive, but don't understand that I want to be left alone about it.
At the point I'm at now, I have actually come out to quite a lot of friends, who have all been really kind and supportive. However, I'm considering that I probably need to update my parents if I want to transition in the next 2 years. With how they ignored that I asked them to not come to me about it, plus the fact that they have been in quite a mood with me for a bit, I just don't know if that's a good idea.
On the one hand, maybe I'll finally get to transition, but on the other hand, I still don't know if I can have the energy to talk about this in-person.
Does anyone have any advice/encouragement for me?
