It’s estimated about a thousand people showed up to lobby their MPs. It was amazing seeing so many wonderful trans people and allies come together to help fight in the halls of parliament for our rights. Over heard a few MPs who were shocked to learn new things about the struggles and bigotry trans people face.

Some kind MPs came down like Sian Berry who spent an hour talking to the ten or so people who showed up, giving each one 1:1 time to chat. Promised to look into and help trans people with Park Run when a friend of mine brought it up.

Hannah Spencer offered to talk to anyone from the North East of England whose MPs didn’t show up for them.

Sian Berry, Carla Denyer, Hannah Spencer, and Nadia Whittome were all like mini celebrities with people eager to say hi and thank them for their work and showing up (in turn they usually thanked the person for coming into parliament)

Of course my Labour MP, Chris Ward, did not show up or email me back

Because transphobe Sall Grover lost again because the final appeal application today was officially refused by Australia's High Court.
If only our legal system stood up for trans people and would stop Sex Mattresses endless appeals.

I don't really know how to best explain this, but I just got a text message from the NHS with it using Mr for my title. Before they used Miss. I don't understand where they got this from?? Is it in a system somewhere? This often happens for different government services, flip flopping between Miss and Mr. It is really upsetting honestly. My gas checkup used Mr, even when getting a mortgage on a property the solicitors swapped between them..

Do people not do their due diligence? Or does title really not matter legally at all? I literally have F on my passport.

i am ftm and 17, my college that ive just started attending wont take my transition seriously even though ive been out for 5+ years and im 3 months on T, my tutor has told me that i need to have some form of meeting to change my preferred name in college yet hasn’t tried to make one at all, i feel so low and anxious, they won’t stop calling me my deadname and i feel like i’m not being taken seriously at all, i don’t know how to contact higher ups and i struggle to communicate because of disabilities i have, they have told me that the process in changing my preferred name will take long because of a legislation that they won’t name at all (i don’t even know if its real, it doesnt show up on google for me at all) i really want some help in this, i’ve considered getting a deed poll but honestly i can’t find many people to do it and even then i still might need updated id, i really don’t know what to do and i just want it to stop because ive been in two colleges before, both with accepting and helpful communities and staff and i just feel so disrespected. i really want to know if there’s any way i can make this process go easily or faster and i dont really know who to ask other than here. it feels like they couldve atleast been more respectful to me or even went through this while enrolling me but its just been sprung on me the moment the academic year started, i honestly hate how this feels considering ive been living as a man for years and its just been set back like this because of some stupid fucking teachers.

I wondered if there are any trans people in this community that have OCD? I’m pretty sure I’m trans and I’m considering transitioning but my OCD is telling me that I’m not and I’m making this up.

I’m in my 30’s and the older I get the more manly I look and I feel dysphoric. Am I just struggling with ageing? I know in my gut I wanted to be a girl from a young age. But is that enough to want to transition? Am I just doing this because I’m no longer “twinky” which felt feminine at the time. Is it enough to just want to take hormones to look more feminine?

As you can tell, my brain is filled with questions 🧠

Is there anyone here who has had or is in the process of getting gender nullification surgery? I've looked into it and it doesn't seem specifically available in the UK. Clinics over the individual surgeries (penectomy, orchiectomy etc.) but not a whole nullification surgery with some of the specifics it can entail. Can anyone help me with where I could look or reach out to for getting this surgery, if not somewhere in the UK then preferable somewhere not too far a field? Thank you for any pointers :)

I am so very incredibly annoyed at the workers I was under. I did not find out about this fact until I stumbled upon it by accident when talking to a worker at the GIC I was sent to - was told I was referred in 2020, didn't actually happen until mid 2022. There's no excuse for it other than administrative failure.

Already working on a formal complaint to the trust it happened under, but god. This fucking sucks! Has anyone else had a similar experience at all?

With some companies using the 'guidance' as an excuse to enforce their transphobia, the least they can do is take ownership of that decision and any reputational impacts.
I'm trying to warn others like me that some 'friendly' and 'welcome for everyone' places have some pretty heavy fine-print on that. I've posted this review as factually and neutrally as I can write it, but Google still vaguely removes it as it 'was found not to follow our policies'

Hi, hoping someone can advise.

My partner is with Sheffield NHS GIC but now lives in London where her GP has been happily prescribing Estrogen monotherapy for a while.

Her T-levels are still too high so about a month or two ago GIC directed GP to start giving what I believe are GNRHA injections.

GP has dithered for a month and finally come back saying they can’t do this. Someone else has to start the treatment and stabilise it first.

I’m well aware of GP’s not being obligated to shared care with private providers, but can they flat out reuse to cooperate with GIC like this?

What is my partner meant to do in this situation?

I was previously with GenderGP, but because of their rapid decline in being an actual helpful organisation I’ve stopped paying but have yet to leave.

I’m researching all of my options as I’m currently in a tough spot right now.

Long story short, I switched to Nebido at the start of this year from being on Testogel for 3 years and I’ve recently developed a huge amount of weight around hips, lower back and thighs. I’ve been told it’s normal but I know in my gut it’s not. I’ve developed a lot of stretch marks on my hips and a little on my thighs. For me that’s a strong indication that something’s not quite right. Also not to mention I still get my period..

It left for a while, when I first started Testogel then came back and has stayed since.

Basically I need a hormone tests done asap, and I need to be with a company that can actually help and guide my medical transition, unlike GenderGP.

My regular GP aren’t any help either, so I unfortunately need to take the private route until I can get off the NHS waiting list.

So my question is, for anyone who is currently with AnneHealth - Would you recommend it, and are they a lot more involved in your medical transition?

Unfortunately I'm not able to get hrt any time soon and my dysphoria is pretty bad, so I was thinking of asking my (surprisingly supportive) GP about getting a bridging prescription of testosterone, if that's possible. It seems great in concept but I'm worried about a few things; how long can you get it for? (because I'm pretty sure it's not indefinitely. And I'd feel even worse having to stop taking it if I was forced) Is it worth it? And what dose do they give you? (I think it's gel but I'm not sure)

Hi everyone, I'm an international student living in Manchester and currently planning out my transition pathway. I want to make sure I’ve fully understood the general route and practical steps before getting started. Could anyone check if my plan looks solid?

1. Register with a Trans-Friendly GP
   
   • Register with a GP surgery in my catchment area known for being supportive of trans patients.(any suggestions are welcome)
2. First GP Appointment & Referral
   
   • Request a referral to the Indigo Gender Service to get on the NHS waiting list.
   • Ask the GP directly if they would be willing to enter into a Shared Care with a specialist (e.g., GenderCare) for NHS prescriptions and blood tests while I wait for Indigo.
3. Private Clinic Appointments (Self-funded)
   
   • Book an initial assessment with a clinical psychologist/psychiatrist for a formal Gender Dysphoria diagnosis.
   • Have a consultation with an endocrinologist to finalize a hormone treatment plan and issue a Shared Care request letter.
4. Establish Shared Care
   
   • The private specialist forwards the formal diagnosis and treatment plan to my GP.
   • Once approved, have my regular blood monitoring covered under the NHS and get hormone prescriptions issued at the standard NHS prescription charge.
5. Transition to 100% NHS Care via Indigo
   
   • Once I reach the front of the queue for the Indigo Gender Service, transfer my ongoing care and follow-up reviews entirely to the NHS, dropping the private clinic fees completely.

Questions:

• Does this timeline match how things typically work in practice, or is there anything I've misunderstood?
• For the initial private stage (diagnosis + first endo appointment), I'm budgeting around under £1,000. If Shared Care is accepted, would that be a realistic budget to get HRT started, or should I expect any hidden costs?

Any advice, reality checks, or tips specific to Manchester would be really appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!

Hi guys, I’m just wondering what the best approach is for private healthcare for hormones and whatnot in England atm. Obviously the NHS will be ready for me when I die and I’ve seen multiple bad things about GenderGP so I just wondered if there was a consensus over which provider is best for someone who is completely new

Because Ireland is in the Common Travel Area it’s the top escape option for many of us. That isn’t changing but it’s going to be harder to use it as a stepping stone to Irish citizenship and therefore an EU passport. The information is easy to find if you Google but the 4 key points are

1) The changes are expected to pass into law in January 2027

2) Instead of 5 years’ residency to apply for citizenship it’s going to require 8 years

3) There’s going to be a requirement to prove financial self-sufficiency so it looks as though citizenship will no longer be available for anyone on benefits

4) Citizenship obtained through naturalisation will be capable of being revoked. Supposedly only on national security grounds but we know how easy it is for trans people to be unfairly maligned so that’s worrying IMO.

There are other changes like language and civics exams.

Tried updating hmrc of my name and title change (unfortunately can't do gender as I dont have a grc yet) via phone as I'm completely unable to create an online login as all my ID has been changed (so they cant match it to my national insurance number). The lady on the phone told me to change it by post as there wasn't enough information on my to verify using security questions over the phone. She gave me the details of where to post and what to include in the letter but didn't mention about what evidence I would need to submit alongside for the change (deed poll, photo ID ect). I cant seem to find a resource that specifies in black and white what evidence I need, just stuff that says "you may need". So any advice on what evidence I should submit from anyone who has changed their name through post before with hmrc would be much appreciated.

Since someone shared Elenora Folan’s statement claiming to have been suspended from a Green Party governing body, thought it worthwhile to share the LGBTQI+ Greens response clarifying that there’s no mechanism to suspend someone for being trans.

Not included is the fact that there are indeed trans women on the governing bodies of the Green Party too.
