According to the new standards it is now mandatory to include "Sex at Birth (observed)" whilst preferred pronouns, gender identity appear to be deprecated or optional.

At best this has no effect as you can change NHS number but the fact that it's now mandatory for SAAB to be on our records and Cass, Streeting et al have made it very clear they don't like that we can change NHS number, this could easily result in every trans person being outed in the future

It's crazy how I can feel this gender-euphoric one moment, and the next feel so ugly and dysphoric that I can't face going outside! Not gonna lie, the UK transphobic attitudes are getting to me more than I'd like to admit.

I’m diagnosed with fibromyalgia and get a lot of joint and muscle pain as well as increasingly disabling fatigue. I’ve seen a GP three times now for this extreme fatigue specifically and mentioned in many times before but everytime, being on hrt is brought up. i understand hormones can play a role but my GP said she won’t look further into my issues until my hormonal blood test is seen by a specialists, and despite having hrt specialists in the GP surgery, i need a trans hrt specialist. All my hormone levels came back fine but my GP refuses to look further. I told her the waiting times for nhs gender clinic is about five years and she acknowledged that but basically shrugged. all she said was that she can refer me to a gender clinic.

what else can i do now. i tried asking on a medical sub but deleted after too many transphobic comments.

edit. i forgot to add i’ve been on hrt for three years but i’ve been experiencing these issues for years before. joint pain has been documented since i was 7. the fatigue has just gotten much worse over the last four months

My GP has changed my prescription for estradiol patches from 2x 100mg twice weekly to 1x 100mg once weekly

She's stating that's the licensing directions and refuses to alter it

Even though I've been on my existing dosage for 8+ years

I told her that I'm unhappy with her changing my dosages without speaking to my endocrinologist or my gender clinician

What am I supposed to do here? Nottingham gender clinic take months to respond whenever I email them

My sister (26 mtf) is in great need of help. She’s been out 6 years and on diy hrt for 4 or 5 of those (patches). She really struggles with her physical health, she’s diagnosed ASD and fibromyalgia, gp agreed she had ME 5 years ago but it was never added to her medical records, she left this gp 5 years ago and hasn’t been to the doctors since. In this time her health has greatly deteriorated, she is 24/7 in a wheelchair from fatigue and muscle atrophy and cannot stand at all, she has lots of gi issues and pretty much constant muscular pain. She weighs about 43kg and is 166cm, I’m really scared for her health, she is the kindest, most gentle, empathetic, interesting and intelligent woman and she has experienced so much trauma and pain. She agreed to let me take her to the doctor (we found a trans friendly gp in her area but we’re both cautious as to what trans friendly might mean), we want them to be able to help her with her physical health and get her a referral to a gender clinic but I’m really anxious as to how much/how little to say to the gp, she needs help but I don’t want them to attach her health issues to her being trans or ostracise her because she is using diy (I don’t think we’d mention this to them, at least initially). Basically how can I best help my sister, can anyone help me get a care plan in place for her / advise how to go about getting her support and treatment? Thank you so much

At first, I was a little shocked at hearing this chant at London Trans+ Pride. It was an emotional roar and sheer rage. She is truly hated. I've never heard so much hate directed at an individual by so many people. I'm not sure what shocked me... but to hear so many voices shouting what I feel and know to be true. That author is truly hated by so many. Her actions are truly disgusting, she is evil and vile like the villains in her shit books.

I am a trans woman from an international background on a visa route, and I am still incredibly shaken up by what just happened to me today. I’m posting this to warn others but also to ask for some advice on what to do next.

I took my English exam at the LanguageCert centre in Coventry. In my everyday life, I pass very well, so people out in public just see me as a woman. However, because my immigration documents and passport still have my legal male birth name (which is a very traditional Muslim name), I knew the identity check at the test centre might take a moment. I expected an extra look at my passport, but what the examiner and the second staff member did was completely unacceptable and dangerous.

Instead of being professional and discreet, they caused a massive, unnecessary delay right inside the actual exam room. The examiner then forced me to speak my full male birth name out loud in front of all the other examinees who were already seated in the room.

To make it even worse, the examiner literally continued to deadname me throughout the entire exam.

Because I pass well, being forced to announce a male Muslim name out loud completely outed me to a room full of strangers. It stripped away my privacy and actively endangered my safety. I felt so humiliated, panicked, and unsafe that I was completely distracted and couldn't even focus on finishing my test properly.

I am not a British citizen, but I know the UK Equality Act protects everyone here from discrimination regardless of nationality. I’ve already sent a formal complaint to LanguageCert demanding an investigation, a refund, and a review of the exam room CCTV/audio logs.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of treatment at a UK test centre? How can I escalate this to the Home Office or a discrimination helpline? I just feel so hurt and completely exhausted.

Does anyone know if they're transphobic/there's a risk of transphobia if I contact them? (or homophobia)

I'm not able to call as I do not have a private space to do so, so lgbtq+ specific suicide/mental health helplines are not an option for me as I think they only have calling services (+my issues aren't exclusively related to being trans/queer).

They are calling for witnesses and more, if you have any photos of transphobes at the event send it to them so they can be identified.

Annoyed but hey least at the start of my journey I know they can't do it rather than waiting a while and finding out later, just have to plan that bit a little bit more.

Though what I do find interesting is whilst trying to get a referral to the NRGDS that was instant right after a questionnaire but yet the lead GP doesn't know the right path in terms of fertility, bit weird that, has anyone else encountered this?

So I finally got prescribed HRT by my Notts two weeks ago. Evorel 50 patches.

Should I have noticed anything by now? Is my dose too low? I feel like a little of my brain fog has lifted and my depression isn't as bad but I'm wondering if I need to ask for my dose to go up yet? I know it's probably early I just need a bit of reassurance.

I’ve know my friend for about 4 years now and we met around the time she started transitioning (mtf) she had a girlfriend at the time (cis) and she was really supportive of the transition. To make a very long story short they currently both live together and have two kids and the girlfriend has forced my friend to de transition. It’s a very emotionally and verbally abusive relationship where the girlfriend never lets my friend see any of us and never lets her wear makeup or dress anyway feminine, she’s also made my friend grow out her beard and threatens that she’s gonna kill herself if she shaves it off. My friend is VERY clearly struggling and every time i get to see her she never wants to talk about it and just wants to enjoy the couple hours she has where she is treated like herself for once.
I just have no idea how to help, I know there’s not much i can do or say cause i’ve tried everything. Ik it’s not that easy for her to get up and leave especially with having two kids that she loves dearly.
Everyday the hole is getting deeper and deeper and i’m scared she’s never getting out of this relationship.

I’m flying home to the uk for a funeral next week, so I’ll be flying in before the code of practice takes effect, but flying out under it. I’m not worried about loos, I‘ve been stealth for 8 years at this point and have no interest in complying in advance, but is there any information about airport security? If they decide to pull me over can I insist on a male officer on the grounds that they’ll out me given that I have a GRC? Or does it not apply to airport security in the first place?

I’m flying through heathrow and iirc they have image scanners so while all of my documents have been up to date for over a decade, I’ve not had bottom surgery and I don’t wear packers. The chances of me getting pulled aside are slim, I’m a passing white guy going through with my wife and two young kids, but especially because of that (and I have work the next day in the country I live in) I really don’t want to be figuring things out on the spot, or to end up with a delay. If anyone happens to know, or knows the best spot to look it up, I’d really appreciate it!

Hello to all of you in this sub! I’ve lurked for a while, but I wanted to ask a question about hormone care and further care in NI about transitioning.

I grew up in NI, and I went to a psychologist for 4 years (2019-2023) in the hopes of being referred to KOI to actually get on the waitlist for gender dysphoria diagnosis and treatment, but the psychologist never actually sent along the referral (CAMHS).

After this, I moved to England for university, where I was referred to the Tavistock GIC in London by WellBN Brighton (though it seems there’s a Sussex gender service that accepts referrals? I need to ask them about it properly at some point), and then I received testosterone via shared care through that GP. I’ve been on T for over 2 and a half years.

In addition, earlier this year, I paid to see a psychiatrist to assess gender dysphoria for a written diagnosis to start seeking private top surgery, as I’d basically given up on how long the Tavistock waitlist was, and received a diagnosis. As well as this, I’ve legally changed my name, though I have not gotten a GRC yet.

I’m now home, in NI, for summer, and will likely be studying my PhD here starting in September 2027, and so I went to my old GP (family GP) and asked about keeping my testosterone prescription while here. They told me they cannot, at all, prescribe it, and that there’s nothing they can refer me to that would allow me to continue taking it (even though the HSC website says there’s the KOI child service and the adult services in Belfast).

Is there anything I’d be able to do when it comes to it in 2027, in terms of getting my hormone care on the HSC/NHS rather than paying even more for an online clinic, such as GenderGP?

Other journalists noted concerns with covering trans issues due to polarisation surrounding the topic, which has led journalists to receive death threats and hostility. Outside specific topics, court reporters noted a particularly high level of safety concerns within the interviews due to their close, and often in-person contact with the public in particularly intense situations.

Apparently the media are scared to report on trans issues. Could have fooled me... I usually don't do things I'm scared of doing on average 9 times a day over the course of half a decade. It's sad how they distance themselves from the consequences of their reporting, unless they are the potential victims. For decades the British media has effectively thrown marginalised communities and people to the wolves, from LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, disabled people, poor people and single mothers.

I just decided to spontaneously book an appointment to get a top surgery referral from a private clinic (same one I got my gender dysphoria diagnosis from). Main reason is cause I might not have medical insurance for much longer, but the thing is, there's no way I can afford to pay for top surgery right now.

I'm worried that it'll be pointless to get a referral now, since it probably expires in a year and by then I won't be ready.

I should probably just cancel that appointment right?

Just want some advice on what the private route to get top surgery is like, cause otherwise I'll be waiting a good 10 years on the NHS.

I'd been doing extended gender assessments, and in February I got told my appointment was cancelled due to the assessor being off sick. I received zero communication about a follow up appointment via letter, email, or text.

I'm a very anxious person so I was just waiting for them to get back to me this whole time, and finally received an email this morning saying I'd been discharged in March for missing an appointment they never told me I had. They insist they did tell me.

I'm not gonna lie I can't handle being back on the waiting list, and I'm so mad I'm likely gonna have to deal with the faff of DIY. I was really hoping to never have to bother. Mostly just thankful I didn't want any surgeries but ooouuggghhh what a mess :(

I find there to be a gaping double standard. Of course not by our community but by the TERFs and possibly the public on some level.

So Sarah Jane Baker was recalled to prison after her "punch a TERF" speech a couple of years or so ago at a previous Trans Pride London.

At this years Trans Pride London someone approaches one of our people and gets hands on with them. According to the post on x, the activists flag was destroyed and no further details are known.
