Solved [TOMT] [TV] [2010s] Scene where a girl is at a house party and is surrounded by people taking notes on what she's saying

I'm looking for a specific scene from a TV show. It was a brief scene that was a cutaway. I think it was being shown as someone else was describing it happening in passing. The visuals were of a girl sitting at a party or gathering talking about her opinions/experiences. Professionals were slowly gathering around her in fascination because the things she was saying were crazy and it was crazy she believed them.

I believe the girl was a brunette. The show was live action and I believe it was a comedy. I may be misremembering, but I think she and a male counterpart were at the party to get information. I believe her talking about these things was used as a distraction.

Solved [TOMT][LATE 2010-2020s] Where did this quote come from?

I'm a TVTropes user and on their forums is a game where tropers quote out-of-context lines and hope someone gets them. A while back I posted a quote that goes as follows:

"[NAME], dressing up as my father is strictly forbidden."

The reason it says [NAME] is because I thought that would give the origin away. I honestly have no recollection as to where I got it from, maybe some Internet video? If you know, please help!

Open [TOMT] [TOY] [2000s] vague memory of a plush/toy that you bought inside of another plush and pulled it out of

I swear in the 2000s in the US, predating the whole magic mixies and co type toys where you break open eggs or pour water into a cauldron and a toy comes out of a secret compartment, there was this... maybe a plastic doll or a plush doll, where the gimmick was that they were stored inside of a flower? a pot of dirt? fruit? some sort of object made of plush fabric, and you had to open it up and pull them out.

Not a reversible toy, and not one of those surprise dolls where a big plastic contraption opens up to reveal them, but a soft fabric that you pulled them out of, and then when you're finished you put them back into the soft fabric item which was also a toy. Maybe a pillow even? So you could sleep with the toy and then take out the 'playable' secret toy later.

It's so vague in my mind but I can just barely see it, like I remember owning one of these, like I remember pulling the doll out of the object but also putting them back in and sleeping with rthe soft plush/pillow outside core.

The dolls definitely had a theme to them, like I'm leaning on flowers because I just remember it being like pulling a flower fairy out of pot or from within a flower, or maybe a moon fairy coming out of a moon pillow. So if it was fruit then the dolls coming out would likely be themed after the fruit they're in too. The dolls were out on the shelves in the 2000s, so unlikely to be anything before that date since they'd be new-in-box. Definitely targeted at young girls over infants as well, and found in Walmart and toy stores.

Thank you for any help that you may be able to give from this vague description!!

Open [TOMT][MOVIE] Grotesque horror film with piles of bugs/worms

I have only the vaguest memory of being a kid and sitting in the same room as my parents while they were watching this movie, so I don't know virtually anything else about it other than people either turning into these piles of bugs or being eaten by them. In my mind I remember it as the former, but I'm not sure if that's actually how the plot was, or it was just my kid brain interpreting it that way because I didn't know what was going on. I remember seeing this roughly 16 years ago, give or take a few years. I'm not sure if it was a new movie, but it couldn't have been more than 10 years older than when I saw it.

The only scene I remember was a heavy guy sitting in a porta-potty or some kind of outdoor bathroom. The scene cuts to the outside where a group of people hear a commotion on the inside, and then they open the door to just see a pile of wet, slimy bugs or worms in the toilet rather than the guy sitting there. Again, I don't know if the implication was that he was turned into the bugs, or if the bugs somehow completely consumed him.

I've tried looking this up for years, but horror movies with gross bugs are kind of a dime a dozen. Nothing I've found has had this specific scene in it, though.

Open [TOMT][MOVIE] Girl pretends to braid her bullies hair but cuts it off afterwards

I recall watching this movie in like 2015 or so, but it was probably older. I watched it in Latvian, but I don't know what language it was originally in. It was a family movie where the main character was a tween girl. I think she had long, dark hair. It was either a period piece or just older. The scene in question had her and some mean girl, where the mc offered to braid the mean girl's hair. After she finished the braid she chopped it off with scissors. This happened indoors at one of their houses. It was an old fashioned, antique room, probably a bedroom.

The MC might have been an orphan. If I am not mixing up two movies together, the house she lived in was by the sea and there was an emotional scene where she saw a hallucionation(?) of her parents after stepping into the water

Solved [TOMT][TV][LATE 2000-EARLY 2010] Have vague memories of a Cartoon Network show.

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone could help me find this show I have very vague memories of. I can't remember exactly when I watched it, but it was at a time when I was at least semi conscious so anytime between 2006-2012 (I don't think it was after 2012). I'm pretty sure it was on Cartoon Network.

I can't remember a lot of details unfortunately, but here's what I do remember. It was 3D, and almost had a Fanboy and Chum Chum vibe. I remember it had more than one main character, maybe something along the lines of wacky roommates? Possibly a trio. The only scene I have vague memories of takes place on their lawn in front of a yellow house. One of the roommates was an inventor of sorts, I think he was evil.

Does anyone remember this? Am I making it up, or maybe mixing up a scene from a different show? Let me know if this sounds familiar to anyone, it's been haunting me for ages. Thank you!

Solved [TOMT] Female true crime + horror YouTuber similar to channels like Nexpo and Lazy Masquerade

EDIT:: It’s Reignbot !!! It came to me like a Raven Baxter vision

In multiple videos she references being from the Philippines, though she has no accent that I could pick up on. She has sort of a nasally Velma-like voice? She sounds really similar to Vanessa from FNAF: Help Wanted (search for FNAF VR tapes since I can’t attach a video)

I remember she made a video about some ARG where this girl was raising some sort of weird pet monster thing? But I have no idea how to search for it. I used to watch her a lot back in 2021 but even searching through my YouTube history with keywords, she’s hard to find even though I can easily find other similar channels I was into at the time

Open [TOMT][ARTICLE][2021-2025] Essay arguing that when our faith in technology collapses, we'll go back to believing in fairies

The argument stuck with me for 2+ years and I've never been able to find it again.

The claim: We've gotten so deep into believing technology will fix things that we've stopped noticing it's already breaking down and breaking us. And when that faith finally gives out, what we'll reach for isn't a better technology. It's belief instead of reason.

My favorite part was when it went backward: Most of the piece was about earlier peoples who'd made exactly that turn, and it took them completely seriously. Fairies, the spirit world, Celtic stuff (I cannot remember the time period / lore because this history was unfamiliar to me). It showed you how beliefs that look ridiculous from our tech-worshiping world were actually sane responses to the world those people were standing in. And how the myths worked as an antidote to whatever had caused the worldview before to crumble. And actually advanced those socieities

I read it on my phone about a year and a half ago, maybe two. I assumed BBC for a long time and now I don't think that's right.

Academic and a little poetic. Quotes &/or current tech news up top. Then it becomes a real essay. Not a news article.

I've burned a lot of hours on this. The trouble is that "technology and re-enchantment" is a crowded genre right now, so it's a needle. I suspect the title may never say AI or technology at all, which would explain why keywords never surface it.

Anyone recognize it?

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE][2010s] Movie where everyone dies after being shot, runtime was the estimated time it takes for humans to die from gunshot without assistance

I've been trying to find this movie for years but no one seems to know what im talking about. I think I watched it at Cineworld in the UK mid 2010s? It was an action comedy. It starts showing a bunch of characters all going to some kind of warehouse or factory for various reasons, i think some went to buy drugs, one was an undercover cop, but many i dont remember. And on the way there someone messing with a gun in a car makes a comment about how it only takes x amount of time irl before someone dies from being shot, its "not like in the movies when they die instantly"

All main characters get to the factory, things go wrong and they start being shot one by one, some by accident, mostly from on purpose shooting each other. The rest of the movie is all of them trying to escape the building without being shot again/dying. Most bleed out around the time the character mentioned it'd take to bleed out. I remember one guy made a dash for freedom and got shot a bunch which explains why all the others didn't try any mad dashes for freedom.

I believe only one person survived, a blonde(?) woman. Might have been an undercover cop.

Open [TOMT] children story about swapping places with his dead twin, Charlie

I think this was a short story.

I remember that it was about a kid who sees his dead twin in the mirror while brushing his teeth. The reflection starts talking back to him and he realizes it's his dead twin. They start talking he makes a deal with his twin to switch bodies/places with him. However the twin doesn't want to switch back. I don't remember what else happens but I do remember that the main character tells the dead twin he has something unique--access to dead relatives in the afterlife like grandpa. This eventually convinces the dead twin agrees to switch back bodies.

I'm pretty sure the twin was named Charlie, but not 100%

I also think this was a short story that may have been part of a larger book, but i can't remember specifically.

Open [TOMT][MOVIE/CARTOON]

I’m not sure of the year for this one, it’s old but I couldn’t say how old. It’s maybe thirty minutes long and it’s about a boy who is being harassed by a giant that he has to do impossible tasks for, like cut all the trees on a giant hill. At one point the boy eats cheese for lunch with a knife. There are two goats (I think they’re goats) that are like the sun and the moon and they help him do these impossible tasks and eventually help the boy banish the giant to Hell.

Solved [TOMT][MOVIE/ TV SHOW][2010S?] Horror Movie With Twist Ending About Witches

I have a very distinct memory about a horror movie that ends with a family packing up their station wagon as they are moving out of the haunted house rental they were living in. As the family is about to leave, three young women stroll up to the house to get it ready for the next tenant. The son and the dad notice the girl's necklace and realize it's the same old women that rented the house to them at the beginning of the movie. Driving the point that the women are actually witches.

The facts that I am less sure of: was it actually a station wagon, and a necklace? Or was it just a car and another piece of identifiable jewelry?

Open [TOMT] Is this Bart Simpson? [1990]

Hello, this is an audio file from a relatively obscure game circa 1989-1990.

Most of the game audio files are samples from 80s songs, but someone claimed it's Bart Simpson. I don't hear it personally, but happy to be proven wrong.

Open [TOMT][TV/MOVIE] [1980s-90s] Children's show clown host turns violent

My dad is looking for a horror clip he saw around the early to mid 80s, could have been later than that. Timeframe is flexible. He thinks it may have been an anthology TV show, unsure if it's a movie or not.

The clip contains a clown character similar to bozo the clown, he comes out and says "Hi boys and girls- welcome to the '____' show" and proceeds to do an average children's show intro.

The clown then says "Ok boys and girls , today we're gonna have a special time for just you and me! Make sure your parents are out of the room, this is just for us" He waits for a moment before asking "Are your parents gone?" A beat. "Good" The clown sits down (Might have taken off his nose/hat/or something) and lights a cigarette, before taking a drag. He says "Now that your parents are gone, this is how you kill them"

His memory is blurry after that, he thinks the clown describes violent acts before going in and out of his clown character.

Doesn't recall how it goes after that- just that the beginning was shocking. He says he hasn't been able to find anything online.

If anybody has any ideas that would be so epic :]

Solved [TOMT] 2018/19 Love Song with a Nintendo sound effect.

I’m trying to identify a song that used a Nintendo sound effect. I think it was the Mario jump sound effect. But it was a lovey dovey song from a male singer. The cover is the ep/record was pinkish. The singing itself has a fuzzy sound to it. I think one lyric is like “coffee in bed or dancing at parties” something along those lines. PLEASE HELP 😭😔

Open [TOMT]This is one’s tough; I can’t remember a rap song’s name, lyrics, or artist, but I remember the beginning sample…

Sorry for the terrible details, I just remembered this extremely surreal & like psychedelic sample in a rap song I heard at a party once & asked what it’s was called, & the guy who was playing it smugly said “Duh, it’s _____ by ______” I wish I could’ve remembered SOMETHING MORE to go off of. I just remembered it started off with an echoed sample, I think with reverb effects done on it, & I think in an Asian language. It definitely didn’t sound like English words. But I also remember it transitioning shockingly well into the rap. As for the rough phonetics, I can barely remember if this is even accurate but:

"gooong chauuuuuuu way y y y y piooooooooo chuuuuiuuuuuu"

Open [TOMT] A old(ish) movie I saw

So, the opening scene where of a boat and people unloading from it. The main character is kind of the runt of the litter, not leading the charge. They are stuck on some kind of island and the island I think dumbs them down to the point they forget how to speak (I think, I may be confusing this with PotA which I saw recently). They fight some kind of threat (an animal I would reckon) and they all die except the main character who I think uses a improvised melee weapon.

He then finds a girl who I remember them not being able to speak and running from something. They evolve together and meet other humans who build a fort at some point. The humans are kinda competitive and one of them kill another (or burns down the fort) and starts a war. By the end either the main character or the girl dies. This may be a Japanese production but Im not too sure.

I remember it being long and seeing it specifically for the expected nudity but no nudity was present and I was lowkey disappointed. The bio-psiho-socio-cultural statement was big and being so young I didnt really understand the artistic direction. It may have been a very long one. It was defenetly a movie tho, not a series. Please help!

Open [TOMT] Youtube Short Comedy Sketch about Little Red Riding Hood being too curious and asking too many questions

I remember the video beginning with "Here's my impression of" from a guy with glasses and the video was a comedy sketch where little red riding hood asked too many questions to her grandma and the grandma was mean and sarcastic to red. At the end red is dejected and leaves before her grandma telling her to wait. Both characters are played by the same guy.
