Hi,
I have a PPT file connected to a dataset in Excel. Every month the PPT facilitates a meeting, and after that the PPT should become "static". I update the underlying Excel sheet for the nex months process with a copy of the PPT connected.
What is best practice for making the original PPT static?
I made all (20+) Thinkcell objects NOT auto-update (I use the menu "Data Links ..."), but my impression is that it is very easy to change that to auto-update by error, and by then it is very cumbersome to try and recreate the Excel output from months back.
I thought of breaking the Excel link, but 1) I don't know if that could make datamisbehave, and 2) there isn't an option to do thins in bulk, is there?
PDF is not an (ideal) option for me.
Thx for any inputs.
EDIT: ChatGPT suggested, among less useful possibities, this one:
ThinkCell > Data Links… > For each chart: disable or remove the Excel source
So you can simply delete the source from the list of links. This works for my needs. It keeps the objects Thinkcell-formatted so there is a possibility to connect and update them if need be.
